Leonard seemed somewhat surprised at the lack of concern these people showed for their own comrade's safety. But the surprise gave way to joyous laughter, albeit muffled by Cloud's hands, which were clamped firmly around his neck. Leonard shot a bolt of lighting through Yuffie's spine. Simultaneously, he calmly reached back with his free hand, and dug three fingers into Cloud's still open wound. Causing the already damaged flesh to tear further, and blood to pour from the wound.
The rifleman were having a much harder time (and enjoying themselves less) than Leonard. Those that remained alive attempted to cover one another with rifle fire. One threw a grenade in Lucius' direction, while others moved to attack Tifa. The one nearest Lucius, seemingly oblivious to the battle going on around him, picked up a radio and began ordering an extraction chopper, which had been orbiting nearby.
Gjiem Had sought cover and was hiding nearby, watching the battle. It was gut-wrenching for him to watch these innocent people fight and suffer, while he sat by idly. However, the security of the artifact he had just secured was far more important than any one person's life. Even more so than the lives of all those currently fighting. He must keep it safe. Settling in low in his hiding place, he continued watching the battle, and praying.

Cloud gave a muffled yell which sounded like a mix of pain and the word 'Yuffie', then screamed in fury as he jumped onto the sorcerer's back and locked in a rear naked chokehold on his opponent. 'No way he can breathe if he's dying...' he thought. He began wrenching on the man's neck and squeezing with his legs, hoping the guy would pass out soon. After beating one opponent senseless, Tifa quickly glanced around. She ran towards Yuffie and gave the closest two riflemen a spinning backfist to their jaws. She quickly got Yuffie to her feet and said, "Don't worry Yuffie, you'll be a-ok in no time." 'Just gotta find a safe spot for you first...' She thought, and half-dragged, half-walked her into a bush. After making sure she was hidden, she raced around and gave Lucius a hand by landing a flying roundhouse kick to the grenadier attacking Lucius.

-So uh, is Leonard asleep yet, or is there more to break on him?-
After dispatching the grenadier, Tifa began on a small rampage as the riflemen were poking around where Yuffie's body was. She ran and leapt at the farthest enemy, landing with both feet on his head, then jumping straight back and landing on another's chest. Elbowing him in the head, Tifa lightly jumped off his chest and landed a spinning heel kick to the other three soldiers. After calming down slightly, she checked on Yuffie's pulse. "Oh no...I hope you prepared right..." Tifa searched quickly and found a heal materia on Yuffie's shoulder guard. She quickly cast Cure3 on Yuffie, then set about casting Regen on Cloud and Lucius.

((Sarin and Sirius in an emotional reunion (emotional part optional) would be quite the nice touch. And thank you, Viper_Tae, for giving Tifa the fighting power that I can not. As for the update: Tifa, Yuffie, Cloud, Lucius and company are battling some group consisting mainly of riflemen and a powerful fighter/sorcerer(sp?) named Leonard, who is currently under questionable status as to whether he's awake or not. That's pretty much all that has been happening within the past few pages. Before that, we all travelled to Nibelheim(Once again, sp?) and climbed Mt. Nibel. That's where we are now.
