Yay!! I love my French horn! And mellophone! I'm a senior this year and it will be my last year of marching band... crying And I will have to say goodbye to Beau, the mellophone that I have used the past four years.

Videogamefr3ak s m e x ii I do love playing my mellaphone, but its been acting up lately... I can't hit the middle G and its making me ANGRY!!! That's not good. Have you taken it to your BD or a music store to check it? asajj ventre: I don't think there's much for free music. I know there's a lot of stores, like www.sheetmusicplus.com that let you order music. Your band director might have some music around, too, but as it's summer, you probably can't get to it.

Ah yes, Kopprasch. I have to say, they are really addicting. You should try Schantl, if you haven't already. Very similar to Kopprasch in places, but it concentrates on intervals and has every key.

I think I will try that. We probably have the book somewhere in our house. Are any of the etudes in the big blue book?????????????

I've been having some issues - and this seemed like a good a place as any to come looking for answers.
I think that Mellophone and Horn are in different keys, correct? And whenever I have to switch between the two, my chops are ******** up for hours - after band camp, it lasted for a few days. -.-
Does this go away/get better?

But, they each require their own embochure(sp?). for me, it took a while to get used to, but I got used to it, and now i can go from Horn, to mellophone and back.
