One of the reasons it seems that I repeat what I do IC, is to make sure that you know what I am doing. I will hammer a point and continue to reference it so there is no grey area when it comes to my post. Just my way of checks and balances in my post, so I know I covered my bases.

Colonel Iyam A Heita Eric vs Suyaa,, We all now why the first half of that fight was lack luster which I blame Tres for. The zoning his pushing for on Tres is gonna make for a boring fight. It's the one of the reasons as why ranged attackers are frowned upon in most tournament. They almost always have to zone/kite their opponent. Although Eric as some....pretty extravagant abilities himself. I assume you made abilities for the majority of Gaia but within doing, you cannot in good conscience boast "he is only human". Which technically he is from a species standpoint but as a power rating, he is above human or super human. Tres is a zoner, so I can't deny any of this. He has the ability to fight at nearly any range (grappling to long), can manipulate the proximity with powers like "ectoplasmic grapnel", so he can maintain pressure throughout the fight. In exchange, he has less inherent damage dealing abilities besides weapon creation and augmented grapples. So perhaps I need to think about revising Tres's kit... Perhaps focus him more on grappling than fighting at various ranges. I just feel that, doing it that way might be more limited in terms of strategic options. I could also go with a conventional gaia character and make a kit that simply increases his ability to do damage.

As a Shaper and an Egoist type psion his personal and external creativity allows him to adapt to any combat situation, ergo, Tres has always at his core been a zoner type fighter. I've been learning from peoples characters for a very, very, long time. but I can work this in different ways. I've been thinking of making a movelist for Tres based on the character Doomsday in DC comics that blend his two psychic abilities (metacreativity and psychometabolism) together.

That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of that. Hmm, yes, maybe a single power that absorbs and clones a single use of an applicable ability.

I want the Baron to teach Tres how to sword fight. Maybe I could just have Tres pay him a salary, since he is going all stalin and all on Sigil.

I think your character and his kit is fine sans the one or two suggestions I addressed with you. Even those weren't big deals. It's more so how you are playing him. Tres/Sieg in our community = H2H,CQC, and Grappling. It's what you are known for and known to do. You can break that mold, it is completely your purgative to do so but understand that it is going to come with some apprehension. Also remember that in a fight it is your opponents job to figure out what you want to do and stop you from doing that. That is what an educated fighter does to ensure victory. So if your intent is to box him into corner via zoning and then come close. It's his job to avoid that corner via kiting and keep you far if it isn't disadvantageous to him. You should keep your cool if you are playing chess.
