"I should amend that to 'the wedding I really, really hope happens'." Fin said.

Taranieth started to laugh. "You are an idiot, cousin. That is a serious translation issue. Human weddings are considered permanent engagements. It is not at all the same as Ceangal."

Fin frowned. "I see." she said, biting her lip. "Could you... translate then?"

Taranieth smiled. "Fin got a little... shall we say... culturally mixed up. My interpretation is that she hoped for an arrangement dictating a sort of... test period, in which she might live with you, Giselle, and see if you were... compatible. Like the old handfastings."

"And I've realized that you're kind, and gentle, and helpful, and shy, and you care about your friend a lot. Also, you're a stunning beauty." Fin said, holding her close. "I want to keep you close."

"Hmm... perhaps not too far from my cousin, since your friend lives with him. But there isn't any great rush. I can stay around here until you get yourself ready to leave." Fin said, "Now we'd probably best discuss what to do here. I can pass for human just so long as I keep my ears covered, and I could stay with little... Emma, was it? But if I stick around here we're going to need to explain who I am."

Taranieth laughed at the idea that his cousin would need to be close. "I have a pet dragon. Know what this one has? A pet wyrm. Guess which one is more useful." he said.

His cousin rolled her eyes at him. Wyrms were little-known creatures for the simple readon that they basically didn't exist.

They were there, and then they weren't. They were also brilliant methods of transportation, seeing as they tended to be in two or more places at once. Somehow, his cousin had found one who'd gotten himself mixed up in tree atoms and when she'd managed to get the critter out, it had decided promptly that she was its mommy. Since then, she was called to double the patients, because she could be there in half the time or less.

In short, there was no way any human could guess how useful one could be.

"Some of the villagers may already have seen me, and I look rather a lot like Ranni." the healer said, frowning. "So the question is really where I could stay that would inconvenience you the least..."

She was shy... she'd really like to stay with Giselle, and it seemed like Giselle might like that too, but she didn't want to force herself in.

Taranieth welcomed the cuddle, and smiled at them. "We should also attempt to ensure the couples among us don't get separated. Giselle should stay with Fin, and I with Patrick."

Taranieth went along, getting the hint, even though it confused him slightly. When Patrick explained, he smiled. "I don't think that will be much of an issue. I'm probably one of the most possessive fae you're likely to meet, and even I accept that past dalliances don't really enter into the relationship unless they aren't really in the past." he said. "We are not as unrealistic as humans."

"Will you want to go back to this... employer? Or would she like that?" Fin asked. "I am not clear why this is important, and I would like to know that first before I make any promises."

Taranieth shrugged. "No clue, I never met anyone she'd been romantically involved with until this." he said. "The family was actually beginning to worry that her shyness was stopping her from getting together with anyone. She's not going to object to you for sure, for one thing because she's not stupid enough to think youd be interested in each other anyhow, and for two because she values my judgement and friendship. I value hers, too. She really helped me when I needed it."

Fin shook her head lightly. "I will not seek her out... but are you... safe with her?" she asked, worried that this devious mistress might try to steal her love away.
