Edmond paused realizing he had made a mistake. Oswald wouldn't have questioned him about where the cop was from unless something didn't line up as it should have. It probably had something to do with Mysterio a villain The Count was not yet acquainted with. Regardless Edmond had to remedy his mistake quickly so it did not appear as if he was creating more lies even though he was. He could assume the information he needed but it was likely that he was walking on a thin rope at this point. "No not a cop in Gotham, the friend who told me travels a lot yet he has never been here. Something about problems with bats." Edmond assumed Oswald would know who he meant "As for the plant I did not hear about that from a cop. I heard about it from some guy working private security. Basically a cop only paid better. He said he was protecting a shipment of the plants but would not tell me where they were going. As to why he was so talkative well... I am very good at what I do."

"I think we have a different understanding of what I mean by shipment." Edmond tried to recover quickly from what he could tell Cobblepot was doubting. "According to my source there were only about five of the special plants. The rest of the shipment consisted of ordinary vegetation. Clearly someone wanted to be discreet about their dirty deeds but I am a resourceful man." Edmond said before he caught onto something Cobblepot had said. It was a very slight thing but he did catch it and at that moment he felt his phone buzz.

In a very awkward manner Edmond reached into his pocket and took out his phone. He looked over the message and typed in a reply quickly before putting it back in his pocket.

Edmond looked up at Cobblepot. "I apologize about my phone I always leave it on incase emergency services are required. Fortunately this time it was just a girlfriend. Now where were we..." Edmond paused to recall what they were talking about. "Oh yes, the plant and the shipment. What exactly is the plant called?" Edmond asked. A name would go a long way but he had to be careful about getting it.

"And if one did turn against you how would you manage to kill it without harming anyone it is attached to?" Edmond asked. He had not intended to pry but he had become curious. Edmond remembered the girl he had seen who had the plant on and remembered the one Octavious tried to put on him.

"Interesting. Well thank you for the information Mr. Cobblepot. Do you have ay other questions for me?" Edmond was trying to stall but he couldn't ask any more questions. Diamonds could only get you a certain amount of information and since Cobblepot was in possession of the diamonds Edmond had brought, he no longer had any leverage to ask questions. however he was hoping Cobblepot had some.

"Alright. Then we should make our way back." Edmond said. He had a feeling Oswald was skeptical about Eric Monte and he was a little worried about what would happen when they got back to the office. He knew he could fight his way out if he needed to. He had seen enough of the building to locate a few flaws. Edmond opened the door and held it for Oswald.

Edmond remained silent for the majority of the trip as well. When the elevator opened he was relieved not to see a bunch of guards scattered around the room but he became cautious again because the odds of Emily still being in side had just increased. He took a step out of the elevator just as it shut behind him and proceeded to follow Oswald with caution. Ravengraves? Fancy name." Edmond commented, having overheard what the guard said. "I do suppose that means our business here is concluded?"

"I can find my own way out. I have never been one to linger." Edmond lied as he made his way back to the elevator. He took out his phone with the intent of doing one thing, warning Emily that he was leaving. He typed



Edmond wasn't exactly up to date on how to tell somebody that you were going back to your secret base and may stop to place a custom weapon so he hoped his attempt would be enough for her. Once the elevator doors closed Edmond sent the message. He would stop by the hardware store Cobblepot had mentioned on the way back to the office but he didn't see a reason for Emily to need that information.

Edmond felt something was wrong but he did not know what it was. He was unaware that Cobblepot was going to investigate Eric Monte and so he would not be able to take any countermeasures he had not already placed. Cobblepot would need to do a lot of digging to find any connection between Eric Monte and The Count but he would find no connection between Eric and Edmond himself. Even still, if Cobblepot discovered the connection between Eric and the Count Edmonds most useful alias would be rendered useless. He would have to scrap it and create a new one. At least then he wouldn't need to wear an eye patch.

Recalling the irritation, Edmond adjusted the patch over his left eye and when the elevator opened he wasted no time walking out. There was no one there to escort him so he returned the way he had come and proceeded forward until he found the room he had waited in. He had managed to avoid any of the guards he came across on his way but when he got back to his waiting room he paused. Edmond disarmed the devices on his wrists and tossed the pens away from himself. It was probably a mistake to think he was in the clear but he had been out of camera view when he removed his weapons and figured he was not far from the exit now.
