Because the way BattleTech Mechs are built. It's something like this. Arm-Torso-Torso-Arm Armor-Cockpit-armor Leg-armor-armor-leg Bascially the Cockpit is completely enclosed in the mech. There is no way you can "Snipe" it. You are going to hit armor plate after armor plat after armor plate. The Cockpit is built like the cockpit of a VF in Guardian Mode, it's dead center on the chest, behind, well, EVERYTHING.

Swimming Miss Knightstar, Swimming. wink
Besides, follows that rule of "She never said I fell on the opposite side from the boat, so I fell near the boat". You should know RPs bend the laws of probability for the convience of plot.

yes othise it would get boring saying I swim and inch further in such and such condition and continue for evey little bit you travel.
not all the mecha have the cockpit like that, so are in the head and some don't actualy have an armored cockpit. the one that has an airplane looking head for one. or atleast from the details ive seen that was the cockpit.

Arcturus Highwind Swimming Miss Knightstar, Swimming. wink Besides, follows that rule of "She never said I fell on the opposite side from the boat, so I fell near the boat". You should know RPs bend the laws of probability for the convience of plot. Nevermind, looked back a few pages and read that Vic had run down the stairs to the boat. I had in mind that the boat was hanging off edge and your chara had fallen 50 feet down into the water. sweatdrop

Umm.. arcturus you do realize MEAC is IN the middle of the Gaian Naval Command, and thus on tis own island surrounded by automated turrets and the entire Naval and marine force... right?
EDIT: as is FAB.. its in the GNC description in the sub forum...
I mean if you want them slaughtered by Seadevils and Automated turrets, not to mention how they'd even get in while the base is locked down is a whole other matter.

See, things like that is why I harped, several times "Specify where these things actually are!" if you didnt' specify, I presumed things.
And since I already planned for Automated Defenses, I fear no Turrents. Only Sea Devils.
And I went off Realistic things. In reality R&D and Manufacturing is usually done by Civilians, not on Military Bases in the middle of High Command. sweatdrop
In retrospect though, it really doesn't "Change" anything. It makes things more difficult for me, but not impossible. Go ahead, I'll raze the GNC. Or die trying.

the way to fix something like this is to pm the person whos incharge on that area and ask real questions abotu it.
and its the automated defence type turrets i'm thinking of the moment you disable a few you will have guards onto you.
say if one goes out they would send a small team with a repair crew to check on it. if a few more or a group goes out they would be suspicouse and send a repair team and a large group of soldiers to check on it. if multiple turrents in any form or order go down they will figure something is going on.

I belive i figured out the most logical way for vic to tell were i am. I'm not so sure he can stay inside that twister of fire and electricity much longer however. not to mention there probibly isn't alot of air inside of it.
and considering all the electricity around vic and how close i am I don't think our comunication devices will work.
