Aislin nodded and slipped out of the room to grab her salts and then quietly slipped back in. She sat next to the scientist, pulling the stopper off the brown glass bottle. She waved it a foot under her own nose, checking it before she did the same to Core, waiting for any kind of reaction.

Core rested onwards for a few seconds, then he flinched, like he was fighting to wake up.

Core felt a burning sensation in his chest as he regained consciousness, like someone was dripping hot candle wax on his bare chest. He slowly opened his eyes.

"Core!" Chiasa cried, happily. She moved to hug him, so happy that he was awake.
