Shane woke not long after, but he just sat, thinking. He wasn't much of a morning person.

"Alright, then," Shane said. He stood and pulled out a tiny hunting knife. "Back in a few," he said, and disappeared into the forest. He was looking for deer. Venison always tasted good in the morning.

Shane found a young deer, but a strong one, not far away. He killed it quickly and began to bring it back so he could prepare the meat.

Faith managed to get the fire going. She waited for Shane.

Shane brought the deer back and began to prepare the meat. As he cut the meat, he saw that it was good, with not much fat, and would cook well.
