By now, everyone should know that I have a major problem with quoting on gaia.
First off the bat, people have memories. They should bloody well use them. Quotes are designed to help people keep track of the conversation and show what a person is responding to. In a thread where there is only two people, and a topic review is easily accessable, what the hell is the point of quoting? A person could just as easily follow the train of topic in the TOPIC REVIEW. Thats what it's there for. And even if there happens to be more than 3 people in a room, quoting isn't really required. Hell, it's possible to be in a thread with 10 people and hold 3 different convos without the use of quotes.
Secondly, 95% of the time people are quoting, they are multi-quoting as well. That is, quoting a quoted quote, which causes a build up in the post and stretches the page. Is it really gonna kill someone to do a little editing to keep it to one post? I mean, if it's absolutely necessary, at least go about things the right way.
Now someone has informed me that some quoting comes from laziness. LAZINESS. It was easier to quote someone rather than scroll down to the end of the page. That is such a bullshit excuse. Your fricking finger movesa little. Oh no. Its this kind of mindset that produces MORBIDLY OBESE people. Seriously, when has a simple click on a webpag become such an impossible task?!
Quoting should be left to the select few who dont ABUSE it.
