The water glistened in the lake like face was dotted with tiny shimmering diamonds and so mesmerised and in thought with it, Charlotte very almost tripped over the young boy that was resting beside the lake. He had shockingly pale skin and bright green hair, yet it didn't seem to surprise her and she nodded curtly at him in acknowledgement.

"Not watching where you were going?" He asked. "Its alright. I get the same way. I'm Diamond. Care to sit with me?"
He patted the ground next to him, and smiled, kindly.

He looked kind and friendly enough, his open greeting was a welcome change to the usual silent glances she got in her own house. she smiled back politely and then sat down very lightly, her dress seemingly setting itself and sprawling along the ground so it seemed to for a sort of circle around, much like you would see in an old fashioned movie.
"Geetings Diamond."
she said rather off handedly, she wasn't cold, just unused to proper social interaction.

He laughed quietly, and stuck his hand out for a shake. "Mind telling me your name?" He asked. "Its nice to actually see someone here. Whenever I'm around, its usually completely deserted."

Charlotte didn't laugh with him, instead just taking his hand and shaking it rather lightly, feeling the much firmer grips of his hand.
"As far as I knew it was always more polite to commence small talk before exchanging names..."
She shrugged, looking out at the lake again.
"But regardles I'm Charlotte."

She added regardlessly. She was uncertain if he meant he was really glad to see someone or was just being formal. She'd only ever come to the lake once before and it had been inhabited by many others including mermaids diving below the clear waters. She cast a weary eye seeing if she could see any today.

"I've always given names, first..." He replied. "Unless the situation was too fast-paced. But this is the kind of situation to exchange names first, and then talk." He shook his head, still smilling. "So, what brings you out here, Charlotte?"

((OoC: I have to go for the night! gonk ))

((m'kay, cya tomorrow then.))

Charlotte smiled, despite she had baerly known him she did actually like him sort of, not many others she knew in the underground would have taken that well, at least the people she had met so far wouldn't have...didn't.
"It's a rare event, one of the few days I begin to want the sight of others or the voice of someone addressing me. I'm not the social creature my house guests seem to be."
She laughed, it was true after all. She was used to being the figure in the background everyone saw but didn't see. She used to be envious whenever she saw one leave or was left alone in the house and later used to help clean up their own social messes but she'd had gotten over it and now rarely did crave interaction with living beings.

Diamond shrugged. "My girlfriend..." He stopped. "Well, I suppose she's my ex-girlfriend now. After that fight we got into today, I guess I pretty much did tell her I was breaking up with her..." He sighed, and shook his head. "Anyways, Kyan-de likes to wonder about people who keep to themselves, and hide in the shadows. The people I share a place with are all very social. There are times when it annoys the hell out of me."
He scratched his cheek a bit, and sighed again. In a way, he was glad he'd left Kyan-de earlier. She'd been too stubborn to admit that he was always the one cleaning up after her and Fanci's drunken shindigs.
"The whole thing was started because I asked her to start cleaning up her own messes." He said. "I don't know why she took it so personally.
"I'm sorry. I'm rambling."

"No no, it's fine"
charlotte answered, rambling was easy to listen to, eve if it wasn't always meant for a person to hear but she wasn't much of a speaker. Not that there was much for her to speak about, never being in a relationships before she had only ever seen things as they unfolfed and then the damage they left behind or help rebuild. The only thing she could really relate to was the house of social butterflies, but she tried anyway.
"I guess it's just her choice and if she really does treaure you she'll try her best to clean up her own messes. Though results won't be automatic, they never are."
She finished, shutting up almost as soon as she said it. If the wrong advice was given she wouldn't forgive herself if it came down to being her fault. It was better to stay silent, in her own mind that made much more sense.

"No. I mean, I care about her." He said. "But the fact that she would get to angry over something so trivial is something about her that I can't live with. I think I'm done with her, for good." He smiled again, and tilted his head back, to look at the sky. "I can live with her, but I'm not cleaning up after her, anymore. I'll let her see the mess she leaves behind her."

"Oh"
Charlotte said simply, leaning back and unsure what to say now.
She wasnt good with relationships, how could she even give any kind of advice to a breaking down one? She sighed and tried to think of something to change the topic. Nothing came.
"So is that why you're here? To think about what you're going to do now? Or did you just want someplace to try and clear your head?"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 26, 2006 5:04 pm

"Mostly, I wanted to clear my head." He replied. "I was unsure of myself, before. Now I know what I want."
He stretched his neck a little. There were audible pops and cracks, and he let himself fall back, onto the soft grass he was sitting on. He put his hands under his head, and looked at the sky.
"The thick fog has cleared from my head." He said, absently.

Charlotte nodded, not hearing him mutter under his breath. Instead she wondered just how 'clear' his head was. Humans always said that when they had a clear mind it would be allright but more than a thousand other cases stated otherwise. Always second guessing their desicions and wondering what would have happened if they had chosen a diffrent option. The wind ruffled her wings slightly so she was distracted for a few seconds trying to smooth them out before turning back to Diamond, unsure of what to say.
"I hope it turns out okay for you then."
She finally decided on.

Diamond looked over at her, and smiled again. "I'm sure it will. I've made up my mind, and I intend to keep it that way." He sounded confident, and he was through second-guessing himself.

His confident tone convincec charlotte that he was quiet clear indeed and she sighed, if only to be so sure of everything that much. The world would be so much easier that way.
"Then I hope the best"
She added bluntly.
