Hmmm.....
Daemon noted the change of pace, of course he knew who it was. It was the nice thing about elvish sight, not only did they not need glasses, but it was much better than human sight. He was going to feel more blind than usual when he finally returns back to normal.
Guests I see.

"Daemon is, in a twisted way, my third grandfather," Elnara smiled at Lore. "Kara's father ... he somehow managed to get himself trapped in his wife's sword and then, even more mysteriously, transported himself here almost three hundred years ago, our time, sixteen or seventeen years in Gaia time."
She couldn't help but wonder if Seeker was a seer like her mother ... she certainly seemed knowledgeable enough, and mischievous enough.
Celebor tried to copy the movement as well, but even though he did it slowly and made sure he had a good tight grip on his staff so that he wouldn't drop it like Lin did, he still managed to goof it up, smacking his shin with his staff.
"Ow," he mumbled, more out of reaction than pain (since he hadn't hit himself hard enough for it to hurt anyways). "Nuts."
And he held the staff up and tried again.

Guests, you see, Gion replied to Daemon, almost sarcastically, though he meant it in a good way, as he ran towards his sister and the stranger. Whenever you use that tone it means that you already knew about it.
He grinned. How long did you know that she was coming back again?
He passed his daughter and reached Elnara, throwing his arms around her waist in a tight embrace.
Galdor was right behind his father, though he didn't embrace his aunt like he had. Instead, he just stood there and grinned widely, looking more grown-up than his father did at the moment.
"Hi," he said, somewhat timidly.
Seeker just grinned.

Haradhel smiled softly to herself and set her staff aside.
"Let me help you," she murmured to the two; and slowly, she helped each of them go through the motion once slowly, showing them how to do it bit by bit.
"Now try it again by yourselves, slowly," she instructed them.

Lore looked between the boy who had tackled Elnara into a hug and the older boy... man? Who was waving hi, though Lore found he had to rethink that, because it was obvious the person whom he was waving back to was shy of the both of them, while the person who was hugging Elnara was not.
Which suggested the person hugging Elnara knew Elnara, but if was her possible nephew that wouldn't be the case, which could only suggest... he was utterly confused.

Probably as long as your wife and daughter knew, though they probably knew before I did.
Daemon replied back cheerfully, since he tended to mainly have visions about things that were a threat to lives, unless he tried, in which it gave him a headache sometimes.

Elnara squealed a bit and hugged Gion tightly, bending over slightly to accommodate for his short stature.
"Bye the Valar, I can't believe it!" she laughed, letting go of him and straightening again. "Two children of your own?"
Then she took Lore's hand again and gave it a quick squeeze. "Lore, this is my brother, Gion," she introduced him, smiling widely, her eyes shining brightly. "Gion, this is Lore."

Gion chuckled inwardly. Daemon, sometimes you are as bad as my wife, he rebuked his friend. Sometimes worse, because half the time you live in my head.
Then he turned his attention back to his sister and the man who was with her. He was like no other elf he had seen before, and - again - neither Nadya nor Lotheriel had said anything about him to him.
Welcome to our home, he signed to Lore before stopping to wonder whether or not the man even knew sign language. Just in case, he wrote it out in the air - in the Gaian letters that he had learned all those years ago.
To Elnara, he just grinned. Time for more talk would come later, and Nadya would be able to explain so much better than he himself could.

Lore smiled widely, now it made sense. He was dreadfully grateful that he didn't say anything earlier, otherwise it would have been very embarassing. He wasn't all that surprised by the sign language, but he recalled Elnara saying something about one of her brothers using it, which was how she already knew it.
Granted he hadn't been aware it was Gion.
Lore signed back while talking, "Thank you."

There was a laugh from inside of Gion's head, it was Daemon of course. Why not, Daemon thought it was just as funny.
Well of course, life wouldn't be fun without a few surprises.

Elnara laughed softly and put one hand over Lore's. "You don't need to sign," she murmured quietly, "he's not deaf ... he just can't speak."
Come to think of it, she probably should have told Lore all about Gion on their way east. Well, now she knew for next time.

Gion chuckled silently, though Daemon was able to hear it, and grinned at Lore.
It looks as though my sister hasn't changed at all, he told Lore. Though to be fair, the last time I saw her was the first time she had seen me since I lost my ability to speak.
They still didn't know what had caused it, and once in a while there was a rare, miraculous moment when he was able to utter one or two syllables, but nothing more.
Come on up to the house, he signed, you can have something to drink and rest a bit. You must be exhausted after such a long trip.
"I'll go get Mama," Seeker offered, taking her brother's hand and dragging him off in the opposite direction.

"Ah..." Lore chuckled, "I see now."
So that was why, well it was beginning to make more sense as time went on. Though Lore had to nod at what Gion was saying, wondering if he meant in looks or in habits.

Elnara started to follow Gion up towards the house as the two children disappeared.
"So when did you and Nadya get married?" she asked her brother curiously. "No one at the castle even knows that you did! And how old is ... Galdor? Was that his name?"

Gion nodded, walking backwards so that he could lead them to the house and still talk to them.
Galdor is eight years old, almost nine, he signed, but he's already quite a bit taller than I'll ever be. I have the strangest feeling that he's going to be one of the tallest people I know ... odd, since both Nadya and I are short.
Of course, he was quite a bit more below average than she was. She, after all, was only a bit below.
We were married about ten years ago, he went on, and that ... is an interesting story in and of itself.
He glanced at Lore again. But enough about me, why don't you tell me about yourself? he asked the tall elf. I've been everywhere in the Four Lands, and I've never seen anyone like you before ...
