Well, let's start by how are you all?
But, anyway me and my partner in crime, Corporal Smiles, just got our characters accepted. We've been talking to Kai about a project for a couple days before this though, so what I'm looking for is some information.
If you haven't read we're both marines (he's a demolitions expert and I am a sniper) and we want to use the enemy's weapons on them xd . What we have proposed is wielding two Drathonian "Dross" Rifles together and then adding some kind of trigger mechanism to create a tripod based, two-man team support weapon.
Now, I've been reading through the beginning of the archives and haven't gotten exactly that far, so I'm not really sure who's all around, but we would like to know if there are any NPCs in the engineering department that have a knowledge of weapons that we could work on this with, as I am uncomfortable sticking somebody into a department my character is not directly involved with . Any help or information would be appreciated.

If anyone is interested Kai played with his image of the Dross and sent me the links to both the original Dross and three images of what we want to make our support variant into. Anyone with other questions or interest send a PM to either me or Corporal Smiles, it will make its way to both us before one of us responds.
((@ Kai: I didn't think this belonged in the Technology subforum as this weapon would be developed on the Ship, but if you think it should go there just tell me.))

Ah! Welcome! So many new faces!
Gwath, about using Drathonian tech... that hasn't been done because Drathonian tech is considerably worse than that of the Terrans. I suggest using the basic concept and putting in some heavy UTR weapons instead of Dross Rifles. It would suck way less ( no offense, that is just to say that Drathonian tech utterly sucks ). We just so happen to have recently created some very pretty heavy machine guns you could use.
Looks like Garrett is going to have some competition from Corporal Smiles... hehe

Yeah, but the Drathonians have so many more poor rifles laying around without owners, consider it a personal interest of me and Smiles. Plus think of the possibilities for rebel groups who only have access to Drathonian weapons.
Edit: Plus from what I've inferred it is more powerful than the "Bro" and while a machine gun is fine and dandy it shoots extremely rapidly while this would have extremely decent control. The two whole separate weapons system would allow for a constant stream of fire if you only fire one and then reload the other while its brother gun is in use. Plus, I've become somewhat attached to the idea and I could technically snipe with this gun.

As for Pirates, the war of conquest raged by the Drathonians effectely stopped 98% of piracy, and the 2% left is known as the "United Terran Republic" XD
