Oh, that's right. We have a chat thread. XD; *was gone so long she didn't remember*
Hey all, I've popped in again today but I can't promise a sustained presence. I'm starting a new job in December, and I'm a little stoked for that, but mostly I'm excited for the week-long philosophy course I'll be following in November. :3
I miss much in my unannounced absence?

saint dreya Shearaha Wish me luck that I don't get attacked by ARAs today ARA's? Animal Rights Activists. I was going to a seminar on Compassion Fatigue for those working in animal research. One of the local groups, that can get a little violent, caught wind of it, so we were a little worried. But apparently ARAs don't come out in the rain rolleyes

I can't go into specific details, but I can be general. I currently hold 2 jobs in research. In my primary I work in Veterinary Services for the facility itself. My second job I'm a Colony Manager for an individual PI. I much prefer my second job, but it's only part time and a lower pay scale then the full time job. I'm half-way looking for somewhere I could do it full time, but we might be moving soon, so I don't want to make any new commitments until I know for sure what Hubby and I are doing in the next year.

Sounds pretty nice.
Hey all! I finally got orders! By November 15th I'll be in Dahlgren, VA! Not with the system I would have preferred, but I'm with a friend and that's what matters.

A friend of mine submitted a video to it and is on the actual channel for it now. I have concerns with it though, and some of it deals with who started the campaign.

Oh?[/quote Dan Savage is witty, funny, usually full of common sense sex advice. I love his books, podcast, column. He's problematic -- some of his wit comes by being transphobic, fatphobic, bi-phobic. He is certainly trying to do good in the world and is probably a lovely person. I think he even cares for trans, fat and bi peoples -- his sense of humor however, betrays that. I'm sort of the opinion that I'll let others address him personally, I'll work in other ways to deal with the culture, and I'll deal with it that way. I haven't found a sex advice columnist that isn't yet. And if you haven't read Skipping Toward Gomorrah, do so. It's a romp.
