Miki raised an eyebrow and hissed quietly so that only Tempest could hear her, "Rae's dying, Tempest. What reason do I have to be happy?"

Tempest gave Miki a serious look before hissing back. "I just got back from my little journey and the first thing you do is lecture me. I thought you could at least crack a smile at seeing me for a while."

"The first thing I find you doing is having a play fight above Rae's head, with little regard ot how she's faring. Yes, you offered to help, but only after making some joke about how she injured herself!" She shook her head in exasperation. "She's dying Tempest, and you know perfectly well how central she is to this tribe...to her family. Excuse me for not summoning the energy to smile!"

Miki sighed and ran after Tempest. Perhaps she needed to be away from the scene on the banks of the lake anyways. She leaped into a tree in the clearing where Tempest had stopped; not trying to hide herself, and waited for him to speak.

Masao flicked his tail back and forth as he walked around the edge of the lack, the place having quickly become one of his favorite spots besides the river. He was getting use to the lands he now called him, and had a much easier time finding his way around now. He finally stopped, stretching himself out before letting himself just flop over into the snow to lie there. He gave himself a quick roll around in the white powder before settling again to stare out at the lake.

Sachio grunted once, and laid his head down again, watching Rae carefully. He silently observed the several new foxes, not drawing any attention to himself.

Miki sighed and looked away. "I'm sorry, Tempest, this is just all so...well, unexpected is an understatement." She looked down at him in concern. "I'm terrified for Rae, and I'm terrified that could happen to you one day, although it wouldn't be for the same reason. I have no idea what happened..."
