Yes, Toonami has really disappointed me on their dubbing and massive editing. I think they even have a list of no-no words that they have to cut out of the real version, i.e. kill, die, and anything with a possible innuendo ring to it.
Actually, I should be blaming Funamation (or however you spell it) for the crappy dub work they do on some shows.
Hooray! I am clothed again!
biggrin Yes, I'm sure we're all thankful for that.
biggrin Funimation (if I spelled it wrong...it deserves it
xd ) has indeed done some horrible work with dubbing...Like with the first anime I ever watched. (DBZ...no, I'm not proud of the fact that it is my first
sweatdrop redface )
And you're right about Toonami having to cut out a lot of "presumably(sp?) harmful material" for children. I have a friend who watches YuGiOh (don't ask) and one time I was in his room and he pointed out one scene in the show where some men run into one of the character's rooms, with "pointed fingers" (you can clearly tell they were holding guns) because they "had to" remove the guns. (rather stupid, if you ask me)
Then, with the game itself, he showed me the cards that made up the Destiny Board for the Japanese version and the American version. The Japanese version spells D E A T H and the American...F I N A L. (again...stupid
xp )
