Leonard turned his attention toward Lucius. "So, you have some chutzpah. Good, its no fun to fight people without character." With that he released a torrent of gray flames in Lucius' direction, and releasing a howl of laughter.
Meanwhile...
Gjiem had just reached the top of the reactor when he heard the sound of familiar laughter. "They're here." The thought made his stomach lurch. As Gjiem hurried toward the exit, a black-clad figure moved out of the shadows and rushed toward him with rifle in hand. As the figure came within reach, Gjiem grabbed the end of his rifle, pulling it and the man toward him. The man stumbled and fell into Gjiem, and his waiting knife. After cleaning the blade on the motionless form, he sheathed the knife and continued forward.

Cloud crossed the distance in seconds, his main sword in one hand and another in his off hand. "Magic is all well and good, newcomer. But it lacks power in the close-combat area!" Cloud then unleashed a flurry of blows at the sorcerer.

Without moving, the bullets and sword swings stopped a comfortable 3" from Leonard's body, waves like those of heat mirages rippled out from the impacts, showing the barrier that he had erected. "Ah thats the magic you've seen others use. But I assure you, my barriers are much stronger than theirs will ever be." He grabbed Cloud by the shirt and pulled him close. With his other hand he reached to one of the slugs from Lucius' gun, now suspended in the barrier where they hit. "You know, I feel that weapons lack a certain finesse. They break, and these metals have such a low melting point." The hand which held the lead slug burst into gray flames, melting it, and leaving the liquid result clinging to the barrier over his hand. "The weakness of magic comes from its user, close combat however, leaves one hard pressed to dodge swift attacks." He smiled coolly as he thrust his palm a few inches from Cloud's stomach, and launching the liquid metal into the shape of a bolt toward it at blinding speed.

Cloud took the bolt in the stomach with a groan, and was thrown away from the stranger by the explosion of the Fire spell. He landed sliding on his feet, but his gut was now bleeding. His main sword was stuck in the ground five feet away. Cloud stood up, and lowered his hand from his wound. "Alright then...have it your way...Yuffie! Throw me that Ultima materia! I know you got it!"

((So...I made Leonard fairly strong because I felt the RP was lacking a big baddie. We cant rely on NPC's forever. However, this is my first RP, so if ive made him strong to the point of god-modding, please let me know, and ill tone him down. I assure you though, he does have weaknesses(Like loving to hear himself talk for instance xp ).))
"Heh! Such weaklings, to rely completely on materia. You have yet to see true magic!" The blue beam and Yuffie's fire ricocheted away due to the reflect barrier Leonard had cast. Using haste, he flashed behind Yuffie. "Three against one is a little unfair, dont you think? Perhaps we should turn the odds around" He whispered into her ear. Suddenly, eight men in black and wielding large rifles sprang from assorted hiding places. Three sighted their rifles toward Cloud, while another three sighted in on Lucius. The other two stood to either side of Leonard. He placed a hand between Yuffie's shoulder blades. "The human body is so frail if you know where to strike. If you attempt to move, an untold number of destructive magics will coarse through your spine before you get an inch away. Now, what say we reconsider surrendering? Also, the whereabouts of my dear brother Corson? You probably know him as Gjiem."

As Leonard watched two of his men fall dead, and one mortally wounded, his expression failed to change. "I wouldnt advise felling any more of my men, if you wish for this young lady to survive the ordeal." He said, nudging Yuffie in the back slightly as an indication to turn to face her comrades. "This girl has proven herself most interesting to me. Tell me, how is it that you came by all this materia? It seems to indicate an interest in magic on your part. That makes us quite alike, you and I. However, Ill let you in on a little secret, the one which will show you the gap in our power you can never hope to bridge." He leaned closer to her ear, his breath warm as he spoke words which were sure to shock her. "I dont need materia to use my magic." He grinned cruelly, and looked up at the others. As he did so, he sent an almost nullified ice spell into Yuffie's back, not enough to hurt her, but more than enough to give her a chill down the length of her spine.

O_O .......*insert evil laugh*)) Okee, Tifa thought. Battle time! She ran into the battle, wondering if Cloud needed the close-combat tag-team. ((Time for work.... Good-Bye!!))

Cloud laughed as the three riflemen jumped up, but realized his mistake as blood was in his saliva. 'Got me good. p***k...' He saw Lucius' look and signed "Get Physical." He then hasted himself and sped away to the sorcerer's back and attempted to choke him to unconciousness.

Tifa jumped in and started unleashing punches on the nearest unfortunate opponent. ((Yeah.... can't do battle scenes..... someone can narrate Tifa for the battle scene, if they want.))
