Here are some memorable playoff series comebacks in NBA Miami Heat defeatin' Dallas Mavericks--2006 NBA Finals  While no NBA team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a best-of-7 playoff series, 8 have rallied from 3-1 n' 10 from 2-0 (6 clubs have won a best-of-5 series after droppin' 1st 2 games). What follows are most memorable playoff series comebacks, beginnin' with last season's Finals, when Miami lost 1st 2 games n' trailed Dallas 89-76 in Game 3. But Dwyane Wade scored 12 of his 42 points durin' a game-endin' 22-7 run as Miami won 98-96, 1st of its 4 consecutive victories en route to franchise's 1st championship. Wade was named Finals MVP after averagin' 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists n' 2.7 steals.

Portland TrailBlazers defeatin' Philadelphia 76ers--1977 NBA Finals  Portland joined 1968-69 Boston Celtics as only teams to win NBA Finals after trailin' 2-0 (Heat became 3rd team in 2006). After a Game 2 loss that featured a 4th-quarter melee, underdog Blazers ripped off 4 consecutive victories to seal their 1st n' only championship. Finals MVP Bill Walton had 20 points, 23 rebounds, 8 blocks n' 7 assists in clincher.

Miami Heat defeatin' New York Knickerbockers--1997 Eastern Conf. semi's  While Heat conquered a 3-1 deficit, this matchup between 2 bitter rivals is remembered more for Game 5 brawl that resulted in suspension of 5 Knicks players, 4 for leavin' bench durin' a fight between teammate Charlie Ward n' P.J. Brown. New York played without Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston n' Ward in a Game 6 loss, n' Larry Johnson n' John Starks were absent when Heat took Game 7 in Miami behind Tim Hardaway's 38 points.

Boston Celtics defeatin' Los Angeles Lakers--1969 NBA Finals  In Bill Russell's final season as a player (he also served as head coach), Boston won its 11th title in 13 seasons only after erasin' a 2-0 deficit n' winnin' Game 7 in Los Angeles 108-106. Celtics overcame presence of 1st-year Laker Wilt Chamberlain n' a scintillatin' series from Jerry West, who collected 42 points, 13 rebounds n' 12 assists in finale despite playin' with a leg injury. West was named Finals MVP, only player from losin' team ever to receive award.

Denver Nuggets defeatin' Seattle Supersonics--1994 Western Conf. 1st rd  After finishin' only 42-40 in regular season n' spottin' Seattle a 2-0 lead in best-of-5 series, Dikembe Mutombo n' Denver rallied for 3 straight victories (includin' an overtime road win in Game 5) to become 1st No. 8 seed to topple a No. 1.

Los Angeles Lakers defeatin' Detroit Pistons--1988 NBA Finals  Comeback itself wasn't that big, as Lakers were down just 3-2 before winnin' Games 6 n' 7 at home to secure their 3rd title in 4 seasons. But those 2 games provided compellin' theater. 1st, in Game 6, Isiah Thomas scorin' 25 3rd-quarter points on a sprained ankle, but Lakers overtook Pistons in final minute n' won 103-102. In Game 7, with injury limitin' Thomas, Lakers staved off Pistons' late rally behind James Worthy, who finished with 36 points, 16 rebounds n' 10 assists.

Houston Rockets defeatin' Phoenix Suns--1995 Western Conf. semi's  Defendin' champion Houston had to overcome a 2-1 deficit in its best-of-5 1st-round series with Utah just to set up a matchup with Phoenix. Rockets then fell behind Charles Barkley & Co. 3-1 before 2 30-point games from Hakeem Olajuwon helped Houston get even. Rockets went on to win Game 7 thanks to a tiebreakin' 3-pointer from Mario Elie (No.17) in closin' seconds. This marked 2nd consecutive season that Houston overcame a 2-0 2nd-round deficit against Suns on its way to winnin' title.

Phoenix Suns defeatin' Los Angeles Lakers--1993 Western Conf. 1st rd  Phoenix became only team in NBA history to lose 1st 2 games at home n' then win next 3 in a best-of-5 series. Top-seeded Suns needed 31 points n' 14 rebounds from Charles Barkley in a Game 5 overtime victory to eliminate a Lakers team that had finished 39-43 in regular season.

Boston Cletics defeatin' Philadelphia 76ers--1981 Eastern Conf. finals  This classic produced 5 games decided by 2 points or fewer, includin' Celtics' 3 consecutive victories after they fell behind 3-1. Larry Bird, in his 2nd season, hit a last-minute bank shot that proved to be game-winner in Boston's 91-90 win in Game 7. Celtics went on to beat Houston in NBA Finals as Bird won 1st of his 3 championships.

Chicago Bulls defeatin' New York Knickerbockers--1993 Eastern Conf. finals  Series that gave us John Starks' electrifyin' baseline dunk in Game 2 ended with Chicago winnin' 4 in a row after an 0-2 start. Michael Jordan scored 54 points in Game 4 n' recorded a triple double in Game 5, latter helpin' Bulls break Knicks' 27-game home winnin' streak. Bulls proceeded to beat Suns in NBA Finals to complete 1st of their 2 3-peats. Jordan announced his (1st) retirement after season.

Since Brian Leetch decided to retire, here's a look back at career of Brian Leetch  Rangers' 1st-round pick (9th overall) in 1986, Texan blueliner by way of Boston College soared to stardom in his 1st full NHL season, scorin' 23 goals n' 71 points to win 1988-89 Calder Trophy as Rookie of Year.

 In 1991-92, Leetch had 1 of finest seasons ever by a blueliner, capturin' Norris Trophy, settin' a team mark of 80 assists, n' becoming 1 of only 5 NHL defensemen to ever top 100 points (102) in a season.
