Shun relaxed a bit as he felt the hand move away from his shoulder. He still didn't know who the hell it was. Blindly, he walked with Mitsu, unknowing that she was playing her respects to Red. After a little while longer, he carefully walked with her elsewhere.

His movements were still slow, as he found himself unable to walk quickly. A part of this was due to the weakness he experienced. The other was that he was unsure of where he was stepping. When standing around, he seemed fine, but the toll the final battle had taken on his body showed more thoroughly as he moved about.

With the wolf girl leading the way, he left this place behind.

Mot nodded back. Time to go. Finally. His gaze lingered on Hel worriedly as they left, before focusing on where they were going.

The danger was over, but a sort of paranoia took him. What if that was the last time he'd seen Riyo? What if this was the last time he would see Hel? His heart began beating faster, his brows knit in hurt and worry.
He mustn't allow himself to think that. The hunters were gone..

He hoped.

He was dismissing her.

... Oh, thank Jack for that much.

Perhaps in a calmer, less miserable state of mind, Toby would've stayed behind for longer on the pair's behalf, but now? All she needed was the 'okay' to limp away, and with a soft, wordless nod, limp the falsicorn did, turning to head back off towards the darkness of exit portals. She'd yet to see many other students pass through them, but to be perfectly honest, she no longer cared for such things. She'd be among the first if she needed to. All that mattered was getting out of here, away from the air that felt so thick now, and oh, that sun, that sky, she no longer considered it half as beautiful as it had been before.

She didn't want to watch yet another student breaking down the remains, either. It felt like one too much. Noble cause, or not, every new, bone-splintering crack of stripped pieces made her insides less stable.

Her entire body ached just so. Her back hooves still bled. Her sides heaved with a each breath, and those breaths felt hot and thick, and her head kept pounding with every pulse of her heart in a warning that, oh, she wouldn't be able to hold her vision much longer until it ruined her completely.

But there was neither a sound nor a word of complaint as she went, merely pausing one last time to press her muzzle against the top of Iris's head, breathe in deeply, and exhale, vanishing through to the sure solace of Anywhere Not This Place.

Moure let go as the plate again crumbled under his fingers. That Hunter's blows must've been even more impacting than Moure had thought. Finally Moure swallowed and gently patted the skull. He didn't want to leave Red here, in this FEARless world, with nothing but rocks and a few pins around her. But if the stone skeleton wished to remain, who was he to try stopping her? She simply wished to stay in the land of her passing, then...

Moure moved back to the skull, where pins had slowly began to accumulate. They gave a hint of color to the otherwise bleak surroundings, a protection against the emcompassing nothingness that enveloped them. They were a tiny beacon of Fear in the land where Fear did not belong, a testament to Red's courage and everything she had done for them, a piece of home to keep her company in this void after they had all returned to Halloween.

Moure remembered her final words as he brought one of his own pins forth, the stitched-up racing-flag-design gleaming in the morning light.

As he leaned over to place the pin on top of the skull, he realized that he could see the inside of the skeleton. It was hollow, as if scorched off by everything that had been fighting inside of her. Moure knelt for a moment, looking inside as he realized there was something, something more he could give her. Slowly, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the pumpkin pill that was inside.

Gently, he reached into the hollow area of the skull and placed the pill inside. Quietly he whispered out, "Just so you'll never be without a piece of home inside you..." He removed his hand from the pill and pressed his stitched up digits gently against the stone framework that had been Red's skull. He swallowed and gave a nod to her, a sad half-smile on his face. "Remember, Professor Red. Remember that you're a part of Halloween, Professor, no matter what happened. Remember what you taught us in that final lesson. Halloween cannot die...and you are Halloween."

Moure closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them and stood. He looked around, sighting on the doorway and the crumbled guardian. Wordlessly, he moved from the skull and closer to the doorway. He didn't know if he was ready to go yet, but he'd give another student an opportunity to mourn their great fallen leader. With that thought Moure stood next to the door, close enough that he could leave anytime soon, or stay. And for now, he'd simply stay.

She watched as Amrita got to work, smiling a little - the first real smile she had given for days - before turning around to stare at the giant skull one last time. She lingered there, between the doors and the skull, knowing that those two are the most prominent objects in the area and thus, the object her teammates would most likely approach.

"Vieve? Edel? Lattice?" She was feeling worried, guilty and a bad team player; so much for sticking together as a group... She hadn't given them a lot despite having gone through a number of things together. She had allowed her self-pity get the best of her when she should have been holding her teammates, going through everything together with them.

She had felt so alone when she should have just taken the initiative to approach anyone of them.

"Vieve? Edel? Lattice?" She called out again, a little louder this time, "I-I'm sorry..."

Cady watched, strangely quiet, as everyone paid their respects to their former teacher.

She watched as they each tried to pry bits of her off. Were they trying to take her home? Dutifully, she took her place beside the behemoth skull. With a loud CRACK, she swung at a bit of the back-plate with her tail.

A neat little crack formed.

As Danny was heaved over West's shoulder, a small, shiny object fell out of her pocket, and onto Red's stone of a skeleton.

Arcadia continued to worry at it, not noticing the reunions going on around her. Just a bit more...

Hel watched as her team mates went through the door to home, tilting her head as Mot seemed to look back at her worriedly. The valkyrie gave him a small, brief smile, and a wave, much like a 'see ya later' kind of gesture. She didn't move until the three of them were out of sight and the door swung closed behind them. Ah…so tempting it was to follow…but she needed to find Riyo…and pay some last respects. The reaper turned and solemnly made her way over to Red’s skill, pausing in front of it. Ah…she noticed the collection of student emblems…the chunks that were missing from students taking pieces home with them, and the valkyrie found that she would not be doing either of those things.

She didn’t know Professor Red like many of the other students did…so leaving her pin wasn’t a worthwhile idea in her mind. She also…didn’t want to bring a piece back with her. This wasn’t a trophy…there was no victory here. But still…what Red had done…or tried to do…to protect them…the way she fought. Hel could respect that. In her eyes, Professor Red was a fine and noble warrior, defending her allies the best she could. The valkyrie dropped to one knee, bowing to the massive skull in respect. A dark hand came up to rest on its surface for a long moment. “…I believe you have touched many…many to better themselves…and that is something worth leaving behind. I will become stronger.” She murmured to the skull. Hel stayed like that for another moment before rising, looking at the skull once more before turning her back on it. Professor Red would…continue to exist on through the students, their words, songs, praise…it was the ideal legacy in a Valkyrie culture.

Now…she needed to collect her last team mate. Hel cupped her hands around her mouth, walking away from the skull as she shouted. “RIYOOOOO!” She needed to find the cat demoness…now. Her dual toned eyes started to sweep left and right across what was left of the battle field.

He seemed to react to her touch, which brought her enough relief to allow herself to think 'He's alright'. He hadn't somehow turned into another dry and motionless body in this Jackforsaken canyon. It was funny. A lack of motion had never really been associated with 'Death' in her mind before, but after the scene with the monster that had loomed over them..the now Red...the... oh Jack, her mind could barely fathom it all. It panicked and avoided the topic to take a few minutes to relieve herself in the fact that everybody had made it out alive somehow.

"I haven't seen you..I just..." she sniffled, this look that fused an awkward sort of panic, pain, and relief on her face. It was like she wasn't completely sure how she felt in that moment, or even what thoughts were trying to amalgamate in her head. The pricolici shifted as Nuk redistributed his weight to sit up. She sat across his legs, reaching out to grab his shoulders with her arms to pull him upright..and into possibly the most desperate hug she'd ever given to anybody.

Her arms around his neck and her face buried against his shoulder, she made a piteous sound. "I was so scared that I'd lost you too... I can't do two in one day, Nuk..I just... I was so scared.." she sobbed, clinging ever tighter to him. "She spewed fire everywhere, students died, maimed... there was so much destruction, dissipation it just.." her tears doubled over on themselves.

"Red is dead." she choked out after a minute of just pure tears.

=====

Invictus turned his gaze to Eris when she asked for him to make a judgement call on what it could all mean. He looked to Aisa after that, then back to the state of things in front of them;

"It is possible it could have happened. Though, we spent years inside of the insanity...how far away were we?" he answered..and then inquired, as though the idea that the hunters just surviving them could have brought the four of them so..close to such a state. Even a possibility of being close to a state. If so, Invictus felt Cymbeline had been the closest to it at all.

Perhaps that was why she had changed so much.

"Too dangerous a weapon to be used. Even in this state."

Even Invictus had such a weapon that could not be used unless it meant the destruction of everything.

There was something to be said for tenacity, though. Right? At least, Cady hoped so, as she squared off with the battered remains again. This felt somewhat...disrespectful.

Whatever. She leapt on top it, digging and clawing with all her might.

She didn't stop to admire her handiwork - she just kept going. If she thought about it too hard, she'd mess it up.

Or feel really guilty about using her former Professor's head as a scratching post.

...That did it. She dug straight through the stupid thing, which merely crumbled underneath her. Cady landed hard inside it's nostrils in a pile of student pins and shame. She climbed out coughing, and felt the tickle of FEAR in her throat as SOMETHING landed on the thing with the wet slap of phlegm.

Oops. Must have responded to all the other pins in the area. She decided to leave it. After all, she was going to miss gym.

The she-wolf glanced at the piece that Tybalt held again, holding out her own hand with her newly acquired piece of Red. Yes. Yes that was it. That feeling she'd had and not been able to figure out. Red didn't belong here! She belonged back home. They could not bring all over her back, but each of them could try to bring some of her back.

"Yes. You are right. I couldn't figure out why I felt like....doing that." LW glanced over her shoulder and shivered a little, moving closer to the black dog. It was a canine like gesture. Wanting to be closer to something of comfort.

Lowering her violet gaze again to the pieces in their hands, LW pondered what he asked. "I'm...not sure yet." She looked up and gave him a sheepish grin. "Hadn't really planned beyond obtaining a piece."

A scent hit her nose (more like she finally paid attention to what said nose was telling the werewolf) and LW looked around until she spotted yet another familiar boil.

"Mortimer!" She called, relief evident in her voice. The she-wolf waved towards the boil but didn't approach. He seemed to be doing what she had. Offering him a smile if he looked her way, LW turned back to look at her hand, curling it carefully into a fist when she noticed something that, considering what all had happened and where they were, was probably odd.

"Tybalt....? Why are you missing a boot?"

((Entering from Couch))

Freya stepped onto the battlefield that she'd only managed to be able to watch, and covered her mouth with the back of her hand. The dust wasn't done settling, and all of the students attempts to take back a memento of their former teacher only made the air thicker with debris.

She caught sight of a very oddly colorful little display, and took Herryk along to see all of the pins that had been left aside in Red's honor. Even though she had never truly known Red, she thought it was a very sweet sentiment.

Freya smiled up at Herryk, and squeezed his hand. "We leaves too, ja? For Red. It is what's right."
