"We can hope," Earendil chuckled. "We should talk to the others then. I think they were all planning on coming with us. Leyenda and Kelirahc because they don't know where they're going to settle down yet, and Aurin and Rhea because Aurin needs to talk to Elros as well, and Rhea won't let him go anywhere without her."
Was he missing anyone?
"When should we think about leaving?" Haldia asked. "A week? Less?"

"Isn't Aerin and Caranthir saying they would come too?"
Lin recalled them saying something about that in the beginning of the trip but that could have been changed since it was established that they would be coming back here.
"Less in a week if possible though."

"Right, I had forgotten that Aerin requested to come along with us," Earendil recalled. "And I have the letter for Elros in my bag."
He looked thoughtful. "I can't see it taking more than a day or two to get ready, so maybe we should aim for leaving the day after tomorrow, unless anyone wants more time."
After all, why waste time?

"We should be able to leave the day after tomorrow," Lin murmured thoughtfully.
She couldn't see why not as there wasn't much to take with them. Sure they would need food and such but they weren't going to go by horse so the trip time would be cut down greatly.

"If you two want to tell the others," Haldia suggested, "I can tell Kelirahc and Leyenda, and Rhea and Aurin."
There wasn't anyone else she would be able to tell anyways. Her Common Tongue was improving, but only very slightly, and no one else from the trip spoke her language. But she suggested she tell Aurin and Rhea simply because it would save Earendil and Lin the long walk to the valley and back, if they preferred it.

Lin thought about it, since Haldia was offering it would be easier if they told everyone else. Especially since Haldia could get to the valley and back again in good time.
"That would work, thanks," Lin replied gratefully.
Otherwise telling people could take a good portion of the day as well.

Haldia nodded and summoned her roc, and as she flew off Earendil turned to Lin.
"Shall we go find Aerin and Caranthir?" he asked. "They're usually somewhere nearby at this time of day."
And really were the only ones that the two of them needed to find, since Haldia was going to tell the others.

"Let's," Lin replied as she put Miyuki back onto her carrier.
Miyuki had been somewhat spoiled on this trip, most of the time if Lin couldn't carry her Earendil did, and Miyuki loved Earendil.

"Where should we start?" Earendil asked as they started off. "The barracks?"
Seemed a logical place, and even if they weren't there, it was the most likely place for them to be, compared to all the other places they might be.

Lin thought about it before nodding, "Might as well, even if they're not there we could ask someone where is the most likely place they would be."
Especially if the two were one shift at the moment.

Earendil nodded. "You have your flower?" he asked, half smiling. "It'll be dark in there again, I'm sure."
Since it always was, unless someone left their doors open.

Lin fished around in Miyuki's bag, she kept it in Miyuki's bag because as a baby she always took Miyuki's bag wherever she went just in case it was needed.
"Here it is!"
Miyuki's eyes went to the flower and reached out for it. She wanted the flower, the glowly pretty flower.

Earendil laughed at that. "Would you like me to take Miyuki for you?" he chuckled. "Or I can put the flower in your hair again, if you like. Whatever's easier for you."
Miyuki was Miyuki after all.

For some reason the idea of Earendil putting the flower back into her hair again struck her as awkward even though she didn't know why. It was probably one of the few odd thoughts that she struck her during her stay in the Borderlands.
"How about you take Miyuki?" Lin suggested, "Maybe you can distracted her from wanting the flower."

"Sure," Earendil grinned, reaching down to take Miyuki from Lin. He bounced the baby gently in his arms, making faces at her all the while.
"Lead the way!" he beamed at Lin.
