(yea sorry bout that)
Alek considered this would be a fair compromise. He could learn these jutsu easy enough.
To learn reido he first poured a cup of water from the faucet in the training building. He would need this for freezing into ice. Seeing as this was the basic technique he knew how easy it would be.(1/2)
When he got back to his seat he placed his hand over the cup. He let his chakra seep through the water and cool it over time. Then he clenched his fist and let the entire cupful become ice. It released a slight mist from the warmer air of the training building.(2/2)

"Just one more, do Reinigiri too" smiled the teacher. Despite having one arm the student was still nice to have around what with the emptiness of the place and all.

Seeing as there wasn't really enough ice in the cup to walk on Alek walke dover to the faucet and filled up a tote bucket from the closet. After freezing the water he climbed up on it and slipped, falling to one knee and cursing. Any doubts about the usefulness of this jutsu were gone.(1/2)
He got up and stood on the tote full of ice. He slid his feet around till he felt able to stand still. Then he placed chakra over his soles, adhering them to the ice as if it were dirt. It wasn't slippery at all this way. Of course the only time he thought it would be useful from now on was if someone froze a lake.(2/2)

"Ok, that works for me. I hereby pronounce you gennin. This is your headband, till death or divorce do you part." The teacher beamed. Maybe this kid would help the villages image..

Alek took the headband and laughed at the teachers joke. Maybe this village was nice underneath the fact that there was hardly anyone there. He left the academy for nowhere in particular.

Quen adjusted his sword as he walked down the hallway. Today, he was going to become genin. He swore it. The classroom doors were approaching. Holding his chin up, he strode forward and slid open the door... Empty. The classroom was Empty. Aww, seriously? thought Quen. I mean, I know I'm early, but I thought at least the instructor would be here. Disapointed, Quen headed to the left of the room and picked a seat at random. He leaned back in his chair and waited. Quen took a deep breath. Easy, Quen, just nerves. Quen began practicing hand signs and reciting definitions in his head. He had to pass. He had to become genin. He had to get stronger.

An instructor walked in with headphones on rocking to music. He saw quen sitting there and pulled out a book. "What's your name student?" He asked with a kind voice. The boy looked determined.

Quen stood and bowed to the instructor. "Quen Izachi, sir." Quen looked up and gave the teacher a look over. He seemed very layed back seeing as he walked into an examination room with headphones blarring. Quen wasn't fooled. He knew that to become an examination proctor you needed to know your stuff. This guy may seem layed back, thought Quen, but he is dangerous and should be respected. Quen reseated himself and waited for either more students or the beggining of the examination. He personally didn't want to wait, but hey, if more came then there was no harm in making a few friends. He couldn't remember the last time he'd had a friend.

The instructor smiled and wrote the kids name in the book. "Well in order to pass you have to show me that you can use the three basic jutsu. The first of which will be the basic clone technique. Creating a clone with no substance to distract the enemy." the instructor said showing the kid an example by using the jutsu himself.

claru gardeford (3 posts to learn it, or 2 if you are a medical/ninjutsu specialist.) (I thought those 3 jutsu were a given at accademy level and everything else had to be learned... Do I have to learn the three basics first? 0_0)

Quen paled. He'd never actually practiced these jutsus before. He hung his head in thought of impending failure. Looks like Genin would have to wait. In a desperate plight, Quen looked up at the instructor. "I... can't. Could you give me a quick run through?" Quen waited for a bored sounding No. This teacher probably had better things to do then prep an unprepared student for an exam he was supposed to be prepared for.

The teacher retained his composure as though nothing was wrong. This wasn't any different from the last kid who'd had one arm. "well first is basic clone jutsu" he said holding a sign and producing a copy of himself standing next to him. "then is the transformation jutsu" the teacher said doing a sign slowly so the kid could see, and transforming into the kusakage. "and last is the substitution jutsu" he said doing another sign and replacing himself with a chair behind him in a puff of smoke. "all three are very useful despite their trivial looks.
(so three posts each, or two if you are ninjutsu class.)

Quen observed the master's movements with scrutiny. Luckily, he moved slow enough for Quen to thouroughly observe his movements.
At first, Quen was planning to master these jutsus one at a time, but if training with his father had taught him anything, it was that practicing only one thing means being good at only one thing.
First he tried cloning. He formed the hand sign, feeling the chakra run through his hands. It was a complete dud. It looked like him, but it wasn't very convincing just lying on the floor with dead eyes and drool dripping out of its mouth. (1/3)
Ok, next up. Replacement. He foccused on the cup on the teacher's desk. He performed the handsign and attempted the jutsu. There was a puff of smoke, but it just made the coffee cup fall over, spilling its contents. (1/3)
Last one. Quen hoped to get this one right. He gave the teacher a quick once over and then performed the hand sign. He turned into a comical version of the teacher that was short, bald, and had rather large lips. (1/3)
Quen was embaraced. He'd added insult to injury by screwing up in such a way that he'd embaraced his teacher with a terrible immitation and covered his desk with coffee. "I... think I'll practice in the hallway."
