I have real money commissions from november 2004 I'm still waiting on but she keeps in contact so it's all good XD
Have you contacted the commissioners with a gentle reminder? Sometimes they forget about it.

I should keep track of the commissions I put down for. I don't even remember half of them. I just don't ever get them if I don't remember and the artist forgets.

Mekania I have real money commissions from november 2004 I'm still waiting on but she keeps in contact so it's all good XD Me too. The fact we're still hanging on, after all of this time, is telling, I'm sure (; Fortunately, I'm still in contact with mine, as well (:

Mekania Have you contacted the commissioners with a gentle reminder? Sometimes they forget about it. Yeah, I've pm'd them about once a month. As it turns out, luckily, we had a small misunderstanding with one of my commish, so it actually WAS complete! 4laugh

That's good then ^^ at least 1/3 are done. As for the other two, my only advice is to keep sending little reminders if they don't contact you after awhile and, if you really don't want to wait any longer, cancel the commission (and compensate them for whatever they actually have completed, if it's been worked on).
Audley- Heh. heart Waiting can sometimes be super rewarding (or so the artist is making it seem by teasing me with the promise of "lots of mek art!" <3 she's awesome)

I mostly stalk people's DA's who I've commissioned to see them update. I have to say, I'm not exactly happy to see that nashya has added /more/ commissions into the amazingly huge number she already has.. sweatdrop

I also have one that's outstanding since January and sadly, from what the girl says, it will probably still be a long long while before I get it. But I don't want to cancel. She's aware of what she needs to do and her art is pretty.
So patiently, I wait!

There is someone I really (perhaps even desperately? Well, maybe not quite that desperately) want to commission, but I don't know if I should - I made myself a mental assurance that I wouldn't commission anyone else until all of my existing commissions were completed, but that will be so far away.
It's not a financial hardship, really, it's more a case of restraint - can I restrain myself? Should I? I can't think of anything bad that would happen other than that I would probably eventually lose track of everything and turn into a drooling fiend who spends all day seeking artists out (hm).
Does anyone ever have a problem stopping themselves from over-commissioning (assuming there is such a thing)?
