Oh yeah anything for which you and your character is connected to uses a psionic link, hence you know that little thing called control?!

Unless you can give Gel any actual scientific evidence (Something along the lines of that) that isn't just theories, then he'll start RPing using the same variation of planar manupulation that you use. Until then, Gel is using his own.
