I just got the Yellow Forest Route. Do you have to wait and transfer it to your DS before you find out wether it's a Flying/Surfing Pikachu?

Most likely, unless it's the Surf Pikachu, then you only need 9,500+
And if you have a Ground, Electirc or Grass type in the Walker, then the number is reduced by 25%
Though I wouldn't trust it. Haha.
