You sure? You could look at my posts. Bah, half of me doesn't wanna, anyway, especially with someone pleasant like you.
I dunno if it's just me, but sometimes it feels like you have to be somewhat of a d**k sometimes in a fight, if only to get a point across about an attack or whatnot.
I'll probably post some stuff in a related thread, like the Infirmary, just between my own characters because I'm that bored, and I doubt anyone would reply at 3 AM (for me) or even if they see it later.

Oh in real life I am a nice person, I employ a different type of persona when I actually RP. As for being a d**k...well arrogant might be a word but I never goad an opponent. But sparring with you...i have to pass lol, it would look bad if I lose in a sparring match so soon after I won my first round. Though i think i won out of luck actually lol.

Haha, no problem. Then I'm not up for it. That's cool.
I think I won easy, too, out of luck. I guess Tankie didn't want to participate anymore or something, so I got a time-out in Barton as Curse.
As naive as it sounds, my goal is simply anywhere in the top eight finalists, even dead eighth and I would be pleased.

lol same, i doubt i could get closer than that...all this planar stuff scares me witless hahahaha. For me a good ole fashioned close combat fight, coupled with some massive explosions...thats the kind for me lol. Though...I am sure I will be eaten by something... xd

Haha, that fight sounds kind of intriguing. Which Branch(es) are you in? I'm in Barton and Commerce.
Yeah, this planar stuff is out there, but I think I have loopholes for all my characters, and from what I've seen on Clash's take on the matter, he'd go for it so that a real match could proceed, and not this "annihilate you before you can breathe" stuff.

I gotta crash. I'm caught up on everything, O/M, FFA, backreading in all the threads out here, but just need to finish up reading some Barton matches and make a few judgments (Bang~Bamg~Zera vs. Vex, Kuro vs. Kold Shiro, so far). Goodnight.

I am in Organisation and Military branch. I can do some manipulation of Planar stuff but nothing compared what Ertai and Gelmax and whoever else does it. I wouldn't like being killed before I got to the battlefield, I mean time traveling through planar manipulation isn't fair...lol. I might be able to counter it with my character but who knows...
@Clash = Goodnight and sleep well, good tourney! YAY.

I bet Clash would go for whatever you're thinking, and I think most would agree that the "kill you before you blink by going through time" or related crap is not just unfair, but "unfun"...
Good night, Clash. Yeah, great job on the tourney, man. I dunno if anyone could say it enough, but sorry I hadn't yet.

Just had a quick look at your fight...you scare me. LOL man you are so detailed in your post that it frightens me. LOL. As for the time manipulation you are right, it is unfair and unfun. I mean theoretically speaking such a move is philosophically impossible. If you are there already...ready to fight though you died on the way to the fight...wouldn't that create a time paradox causing multiple universes to spout? I dunno I know some science and alot of philosophy but planar manipulation...I still have to get my head around that stuff LOL.

Why, thank you! I don't know, I felt kinda like I took too many liberties in that fight, or just made some stupid moves. But that's fighting. It was still quite fun, and I looked forward to Tankie's replies and responding to them every time. He was quite good, and I don't know if I would've won had it really continued.
Haha, yeah. That planar stuff is out there. I watched some Discovery channel special on Time travel, and apparently some of the best theories to counter the paradox involve multiple realities. So, if you kill your grandfather, you actually end up killing him in another version of the same universe, and there can be an infinite number of identical universes (minus variations in time and events, I suppose).
What makes me think is this: What stores these universes?
Think about it. A computer stores information, and it could run multiple applications separate from another, but all run on the same system. Is that like the multiple universe thing?
Even the expanse of this universe is mind-boggling. And to think, we know less about our own oceans on Earth than we do about space, or so they say.
So, that makes me wonder where people like Ertai get off with this planar stuff. Humans, mankind, don't even know as much about our oceans, right here on Earth, as we do about all the space out there.
Where does someone else behind a keyboard get off saying his or her idea of existence, planar philosophy, or all that nonsense is more right than another person behind a keyboard?
The only thing I have to support someone like Ertai, is that it's simply his style of fighting. Not everyone should have to bend to a hand-to-hand style or weapon combat if it's "anything goes" in the tournament, as Mooo pointed out earlier. No limits.
But that still gives him no right go without naming weaknesses like other traditional styles have. Hand-to-hand? You have to be in close, and getting in close could cost you taking a lot of damage from ranged or magic users. Ranged or magic users? Generally, you have less physical defense or combat ability, so if someone gets in close, you can be pretty screwed.
Of course, people think of clever counters for their weaknesses, but generally you don't take it to impossible levels and you admit your faults, at least in the heat of battle.
Anyway, rambling. It must be late for me to go on like this. But Ertai, for example, never addressed how he's better when we are all using the same medium to communicate and RP. Length alone doesn't cut it, but he never responded to that seriously in my other post. Didn't expect him to, anyway. Still, it's disappointing.

I just tend to ignore Ertai and his rantings. I am a Martial Artist myself and I practice a few styles including boxing. So when I RP i use my experience in actual combat to help me win, and I have alot of understanding in science and philosophy. Sad to say it I am a bit of a nerd and I read alot of space books lol. But what you say is true, you cannot name the weaknesses of each style and assume that is the general weakness of all users who practice that style. Basically its how you use styles that might be able to ensure victory. Like today a couple of ours ago I fought in sparring my cousin who practiced Karate and QuDong (SP) and I utterly smashed him with my boxing tactics. In a sense what I am trying to say is each style has weaknesses and has strengths but to assume that those are fixed is what leads to defeat at the end. I am ranting I know...
As for the multiple Universe thing you are right there, just existing in the past creates a multiple universe...but as for your computer system thing well...in a sense it isn't since if a computer does that multiple times it might crash...but thats assuming you are thinking that the Universe is Infinite which it isn't. Man...too much ranting.
I like the way you RP, its nice and descriptive. From what I have read you look like a very experienced Rper. I have barely been RPing for a year now lol.

Yeah, I have been roleplaying for quite some time. That I admit. Not so much here on Gaia, but on other group and forum-based RPs, and then before that pen-and-paper and so forth. In fact, I usually stick away from the "official" or mainstream, trendy stuff, and like to do stuff I simply find fun. And thank you, again!
I am still a "n00b" to battle-only, such as a battle tournament like the GTB. But it looked pretty fun, and judging from my first match, it is.
Hey, that's no ranting. I agree with it, at least. Every style has a weakness that can be pretty easily exploited, and not simply "Uh, yeah, my weakness is fighting me when I'm half-asleep."
I was thinking of making a tournament like this, if it could even attract anyone else, with some limits and judges. Still, I get where Clash was going with this, and it's fun. In the end I guess it's better to let go. I don't even care for the gold. I'd really have nothing to do with the grand prize, besides buy my own guild for a tournament and one other RP idea I have.
Still, I'd hate to have Ertai (or anyone, so I can stop naming him because it's not just him, nor is he always wrong) pull that stuff on me for some cheap win. It's more like an honor thing, and for me to personally get better at RP battles.
And the multiple universe thing... yeah, I'm kind of a nerd, too. I like sci-fi stuff, but typically of a more anime-ish vibe, like giant mechs. On the other hand, I'm also more fantasy-based, too, sticking with good 'ol swords and magic. But, hey, you gotta love it all!
Anyway, damn... that stuff really is mind-boggling, though. One of my biggest questions is what the end of this universe is like. Does it just end? How does it end? It's supposedly ever-expanding, but into what? Or going where? When will it stop expanding, and will it contract? Will it ever stop expanding? And so forth.

Oooh, dude! I remember reading up on your match when I first got into this guild, and thinking "that's pretty cool." I like your character so far, and what are ya saying? You're damn good at roleplaying, too! I like Rasarai's attitude.
In fact, it was one of the first matches I read for the fun of it while waiting for Barton to begin. I love that whole knight concept. I was thinking of making a character with a similar theme.

LOL thanks for the compliment, but compared to most here I am still relatively new. Yea I like the way I did Rasarai, truth be told it just happened. I just made the concept of a Knight following honor codes and his powers but his attitude pretty much sprouted on its own lol.
Yea I am here in GTB the same way, I just wanna fight stronger opponents. The gold is a nice bonus but in the end its the privilege of fighting warriors here who are stronger which is the real prize. I get to learn more and more about rping and what not. I think this is the only place besides my own guild and Tacitus' guild where I can actually go full power, many other places don't let me because...well they get angry that I am too strong. sad
I would hate to lose to Ertai (or anyone) like that. You are right, it is an honor thing. One must win with all of his/her powers available. But Clash would probably see to it that wont happen anyway, teleporting is not allowed which is a huge bonus for me lol. I mean in my match TROY could have planes teleported to escape the gravity well...oh well I suppose.
And you like GIANT MECHS! I love Giant Mechs! Gundam is the end all for me. But I have only seen Gundam Wing though...I'd like to see the older and the newer ones. Ah Giant Robots...man not just giant robots anime is awesome in general.
The theory is that the universe fluctuates...that it will all contract to a "big crush" where everything is compressed and then detonated again with another "Big bang" though that theory is now outdated, I havent read into the newer ones yet. Watching too much damn anime and training too much lol.
