I'm going to take the objective side of this.
Snake could totally kick Sonic's a**. Prove me wrong somebody.
uh Sonic has no to defeat Snake, other than speed. I mean when have you ever seen sonic kick and punch? never. So Brawl form of Sonic does'nt count. therefore Snake indeed wins. (on side note, I just found out that my uncle Mike trained with Chuck Norris)
Sonic the Fighters, Sonic Battle, Sonic the Hedgehog comics.. the list goes on.

Owwin Well here is mt view on the subject. Sonic is the fastest thing alive, but Vamp (MGS2) is the fastest thing I have ever seen (See Sonic is the fastest thing alive, but Vamp is undead). So if Vamp could beat Sonic, Raiden could beat Vamp, and Snake could beat Raiden (You all know he could). That means Snake is the winner. I'm kind of proud of you Owwin. it sounds like you put alot of thought into you 're argument. Still, Sonic wins since when can you beat a blue hedgehog?

Owwin Well here is mt view on the subject. Sonic is the fastest thing alive, but Vamp (MGS2) is the fastest thing I have ever seen (See Sonic is the fastest thing alive, but Vamp is undead). So if Vamp could beat Sonic, Raiden could beat Vamp, and Snake could beat Raiden (You all know he could). That means Snake is the winner. So if rock can beat scissors, and scissors can beat paper, then rock can beat paper too?

Vamp did not move faster than Sonic. This I can state as a fact, as Vamp can not move fast enough to knock out his own shadow.
Does no one have any legitimate reasons in this argument?
Knock out your shadow? When has Sonic done that? I have never seen that in any sonic game I have played. I would have to agree that Sonic would be faster.

You don't know who wins unless you know the conditions of the fight. great point here and I agree it all depends wat items are around the stage and what they know about each other the time of day, and what they are fighting for. mrgreen now Sonic is my favorite so I would say he wins. But! Sonic is faster and could nock Snake on the ground as soon as he knows he's there and then make a sweet awesome combo. Onthe other hand Snake could counter the speed by laying bombs and traps about o turn on his cloke to hide. It depends on teh situation. xp

From the way it has been so far in previous Smash Bros. games, characters who are fast can easily get knocked out. Power characters are strong and able to take more damage, yet can't move fast. Average characters are well...all around. Sonic is fast so he can't take a large amount of damage, but can deliver a large amount if the player can use him properly. Snake is probably a average character and can hold up his own with Sonic.
In the end it all depends on the player using the character and how well he/she can use them.
