Nawat wandered down the halls by labs 101 through 109 without much of a purpose. All the swords strapped too him would have made it hard for a lesser man to move around easily but for him it was like having 5 feathers taped to his back, weightless and no problem. He stopped as he heard a skittering sound up the hall, near lab 5.

'Who's there?' I called out, tensing slightly, my attention caught by a small noise.

He put a hand on one of the blade hilts, the skittering sound hadn't sounded like a person, more like animal claws scratching on the floor.

There was the skittering again. And what sounded like a flapping noise, maybe an escaped bird?

-The security cameras' servos are heard whirling as they moved to look upon the newcomers-
-The comms crackle to life in their General area and Comrades voice is heard-
"Ohh... dont worry about the random sounds.... its when it is all quiet that something is wrong around here...... the skittering, the screams, the gunshots....all normal"
-A snicker is heard in the background and the comms go dead once more-

'I'm right here,' I told the voice, stepping in front of the door to Laboratory 109, and faced the figure I presumed must be Cooper.

"Didn't sound like it was normal or from outside."
There was a soft cooing sound, like from a pidgeon, and the corner where Lab 105 was located was suddenly lit up by a small stream of fire, and you could see the shadow of two or three pidgeons and what looked like half a rat. Nawat gave a jerk and backed up a bit.
"THAT IS NOT NORMAL! NO MATTER WHAT THE COMM SAYS A FIRE BREATHING PIDGEON ON LEVEL ONE OUTSIDE A LAB IS NOT NORMAL!"
Normally he would be right in there poking at the thing with a sword but the fire stream was long enough to get him from out of sword reach and too much heat made him sickly.

I cried out in surprise, more than slightly taken aback by the sudden blazing inferno. The prickly heat from the flames felt uncomfortable against my face.
'What the <********> is going on in there?' I screamed vulgarly, in the direction of the comm. 'Comrade!'

"Its not even inside! You can clearly see the shadows are outside the door!"
He slammed his hand onto the button by a small speaker and yelled into it.
"COMRADE WHAT THE HELL! THERES TWO OR MORE ******** FIRE BREATHING PIDGEONS LOOSE ON LEVEL ONE BY LAB 105."

As Cooper cursed at Comrade, I searched around for something to put out the fire with, and saw an extinguisher. I ran over to it, pulled it free from its fastenings on the wall, and aimed it in the direction of the fire.
'I suggest you get one of these as well; there's no way in hell I'll be able to put this out on my own,' I instructed him.

-The comms Crackle to life once more-
"Interesting.... hmm.. fire breathing pigeons...... now that is a new one" Comrade voice said in an un-natural calm
"Well..... guess I have no choice then"
-The sound of warning klaxons in the background is heard and the lights turn off around them.-
"Please remain calm"
-The sound of metal siding on the walls moving away is heard, and then automatic gun-fire.. then silence-
-Lights flicker back on-

Nawat blinked a bit, then headed twords lab 105. He saw the bodies of 3 pidgeons and the half body of a grunny.
"Oh no! They killed a grunny!"
He pressed another com button.
"Comrade what do we do with the bodies and the half body of the grunny?
