As cliche as it was, these two beings clashed head on meeting each other's attack with an attack of their own. Maximos gave Reinhart the first move, he never mentioned anything about landing the first punch. A slight numb pain went up his leg from the colision, nothing to worry about, it was from the shock or the sheer force. It'll pass. Rain pouring on the two, skies roaring, the earth soft and slippery from the moisture, it was quite the battleground.

However, there was no witness, no cameras, nothing but trees threatened by the two beings that would continue fighting till one called it quits or a victor was declared. Bouncing off Maximos' counter Reinhart wasn't about to stop his attack, airborne still he flipped back and onto his feet. His boots dug into the soft soil for a second before he sprang off them once more. One step and he launched himself at Maximos, his right knee coming up to strike his friend's mid section.

Fast, furious, and accurate the motion itself sent the rain away for a moment before it fell on him again. Blocked, landed, or dodged, he bring his left elbow in across his body aiming for Maximos' head. It wasn't over however, immediately after his right hand would shoot forward in what anyone could call a cross. Maximos would see it however, the attack, where to move, stop, and block.

Most importantly he'd see a smile on Reinhart's face and a dim glow in his eyes. What would fighting the Reaper prove? No one was around to watch. What was their reason? It wasn't anything of major importance. Why fight? Simply put, because they could.

Cris showed a ferocity unseen in most fighters. He did not waste his efforts and opportunities on just a single attack. No simple punch or kick, no lash or bash. His moves were constant, a flow of consistent motion. It was something Maximos had to respect just as must as he had to be careful of it.

The space between the two fighters was immediately closed as shin's bashed together. Reinhart's right shin smacking against Maximos's right shin, this would put bring the crushing knee to an immediate halt as the two fighters legs collided. There wasnt a moment to waste on the sting of bone against bone.

The elbow swung, coming from Maximos' right. He ducked his head down, immediately, the fierce attack just barely missing his head and grazing through his matted wet hair. That was close, a bit too close.

Before he was given the opportunity to counter-attack Reinhart's right first was already coming straight for his chest. He had no time to think, or strategise, Cris' combination attack was as vicious as it was direct. The Reaper expected no less. With his leading right arm he grabbed the oncoming fist by the wrist, tugging it forward and away, directing it to Maximos' right side beside his hip.

That left only one viable attack option, and only a short window in which to take advantage of his opponents open state. He would see Reinhart's face indeed as he brought his head forward aiming for a swift headbutt against his old friends head. And Reinhart would get a choice glance at the white glow seeping from his friends right eye. Just before Maximos slammed his weight forward and down, attempting to stop his right leg forward and to seize a bit of ground and force Reinhart back a step or two.

Smashing bone against bone was never a good feeling, this felt ten times worse even with his guards on he felt the blunt of the blow. A failed second attack was needless to say no surprise at all. The cross was parried, any seasoned fighter knew what this meant. Preventing what would happen next was a totally different story. A headbutt. A simple move, nothing fancy, nothing flashy, a simple hard hit using the hardest part of your head.

Eyes shot open, the Reaper's white glow clear unlike the sky above and for a moment Reinhart was reminded why he wanted this fight.

CRACK!

Maximos' shot landed pushing Reinhart's head back in the process making him see more than one small white glow. Stars is what most people called it. A vibration ran through his skull, his eyes were forceably fixed on the sky, and he took a step back. Adrenaline was kicking in, the hit hurt but it wouldn't stop him, not this early into the fight, maybe not even later. He'd caught his balance placing his right foot behind him digging it deep into the ground. Instantly after cathing himself his eyes were fixed on teh Reaper again, he wouldn't stop.

With the right foot shooting forward from right to left he aimed on smashing it on Maximos' ribs. Following through the motion he'd spin thrusting his left foot back into the Reaper's abdomen and bring himself into a face forward position. Pushing off the ground with a great amount of force he'd flip forward quickly boosted by winds bringing his right leg up in the process. Once the revolution was fully made his heel came crashing down with such speed it created a light cutting force.

Cristopher Reinhart
Gale Revolution - With a combination of speed and the wind element to boost movement a cutting force can be created when striking. A spin or flip is used as a catalyst to build momentum, add speed, and increase the amount of force applied behind the blow. Levels of cutting power and force will vary based on the amount of speed, wind, and revolutions. Skill may be combined.

To be honest the Shadow had completely underestimated Cris. He had blocked a few hits and was beginning to get ahead of himself. Perhaps his time in the land of pacifism had made him soft. Cris recovered far faster than he had expected, the foot came with every bit of speed and force Maximos should have expected from this man, this man he had waited so very long to verse. He may just have to use the other arm.

His body bent around the kick. His upper body lean forward, his right arm jerked forward, and the wet ground gave under the sudden impact. He could not fall. He would not fall so easily. He simply could not let himself surrender the ground beneath him. His left arm, stood firmly placed behind his back, its fist clenched tightly.

He watched with sharp eyes as Cris flipped up and over coming down with a very powerful axe kick.

Maximos
Manus de Exsecror Serius - Once awakened, usually by contact with blood or by Maximos' own will, the arm forges a black shadow gauntlet around Maximos' right arm. The tendrils seen lashing out, each lay down around the limb, squishing the sleeve and creating the piece of black armor. The gauntlet is armed with talon like fingers, and infused with superhuman strength. Though only in the one arm. So enhanced he is allowed to handle weights of 200lbs to 650lbs with his right arm alone.

Up came the armored right arm. It arched over and slightly in front of his head, taking the brunt of the oncoming force. A loud metallic "dong", would fill the air the two fighters met once again. His face cringed as his entire body buckled under the force of Reinhart's attack. His waist and hips bent, immediately followed by his knees, and even the ground beneath him gave even further. But he would not fall, though bent, he stood strong. The rain poured over his form diluting the blood trickling from the impact point on his head.

He had received a vicious attack, the payment for his hubris. It was a mistake he would not easily make again. His right hand opened, and twisted aiming to grab the offending leg by the ankle, his jet black fingers would tighten their grip like a vice. He bent at the waist his right foot stepping out and slamming down, his hips jerked to the right, followed by his upper body. The intent being to whip his form into a 90 degree angle, swinging Cris by his leg, and then release him sending him into one of the nearby trees.

Sent to the trees he was. To anyone watching it may look as if Reinhart moved in a rather unatural way whilst flying through the space between him and the first tree. With only enough time to whip himself into a less devasting position to his form he'd turned his body to meet the tree head on. Limbs coming into to cover for the rest of his body it'd look like he was thrusting himself at it had he not been thrown.

Unknown to Maximos maybe these were the most guarded parts of Reinhart's body, bracers over his forearms which came up to block like a boxer. Guards on his shins which were brought together and up putting Reinhart in a sort of ball position. Then....

SMASH!

The tree was oblierated from the force at whic he came and force he threw forward to soften the blow as much as possible. Once through the tree however his limbs snapped outwards, a second tree came. Unlike the last one Reinhart thrust his feet down, they slid over the wet ground as he neared the second tree. It was like slamming on the brakes at the last second. Slidding along he came to the tree slowing down only putting up his hand to completely stop himself using the trunk.

He shook for a moment, splinters and leaves coming off the man as he turned around to face Maximo's immediately. Maybe the Repaper had followed after, maybe another attack was coming at him, but he turned to face it. Whatever it was. Had Maximos' stood where he was Reinhart's hand would shoot infront of him forming a triangle by touching the tips of his thumbs and index fingers. In his sight sood Maximos, inside the triangle and in an instant three small orbs of different light formed, came together then shot forward hot, bright, and alarmingly fast like a laser.

Cristopher Reinhart
Triad Cutter - By compacting, concentrating, and combining elemental forces a powerful 'laser' like beam can be formed. Usually formed of three elements the attack can cut/burn through most anything in it's path. The longer the elements are held together the larger the 'laser' becomes. May not be combined with other skills.

Aimed at the Reaper's upper right shoulder it shot forward made of wind, fire, and earth in this instance though it burned a bright white. It wasn't meant to disable it was a mere half inch thick, Maximos wanted to see his strength and Reinhart wanted to show it.

And he followed. This was no hunt, but he would give Cris nothing short of his absolute best. The man deserved that. They had waited years for this match, quite literally years and he would give him a battle they could remember for years to come.

He watched with dead locked eyes as Cris was flung into the forest. His boots slowly beginning to emblazen, the runes sewn into their fabric beginning to flow a bright indigo. The Shadow leaned toward the whole Cris made in the bramble with his form, his feet digging into the ground to brace him for the sudden impact. The wet ground shook as if some massive force was being poured into it.

And then in a single moment, there was a veritable explosion of mud as the boots ignited shooting Maximos forward like a missile.

Just as Cris turned around he would see Maximos bearing down on him, no more than 10ft away. The Triad-Cutter would blast forward shredding a line clean over Maximos' shoulder, blast shredding through a line of the black armor covering his shoulder. A seed of blood and seared bandaged being instantly blown off by the force of his motion.

His right arm was extended out to his side, basically aiming to slam his old friend with his forearm and force him into an through the tree as he flew on by, kicking up a storm of water and leaves in his wake.

Nothing short of Maximos that was for sure, he'd followed through on his last attack and was literally flying at Reinhart. Quickly Reinhart ducked, Maximos' arm grazing over his wet hair over his head and through the tree. In flight it was likely Maximos would keep going on a bit further, there really wasn't much room to maneuver around int he forest. The tree was cut down, the top end of it coming down, the bottom almost pulled out from its roots.

Reinhart rolled instantly to one side jumping into the air turning as he did to get an eye on Maximos. What came next would remind him of his first fight with the shadow man. His right leg lashed out kicking the falling form of the tree, kicking it in Maximos' direction. It was more a chunk of tree than the whole torn piece itself, it would still be rather heavy however not to mention a bit massive. With his left he kicked what remained of the poor trunk to one side before coming back down.

"Just like old times eh old friend!"

Reinhart shouted at his friend smiling like he had before. He needed to close the distance when he hit the ground or get back to the clearing.

He grimaced as his arm bashed through the tree. He could feel the pop as his shoulder dislocated. It was a sharp stabbing pain, his eye squinted shut for just a moment as his left hand instinctively clutched his right shoulder. The break in concentration shattered the flow to his boots and drove the Shadows feet down into the muck, bringing him to a wet crashing halt. A loud thud echoing out as his left right shoulder smacked into a tree.

Indeed!

Maximos shouted back. Turning his head to see chunk of log flying straight for him. The snaps of branches and twigs filled the air as timer of sorts until he was crushed. He regretted for a just a moment that he didnt have his sword like he did in the old days with that block of ice.

He had to act fast very fast. His closed for a moment, trying to regain his concentration. Black inky ethereal tendrils slowly began to lift from his arm, as if seeping from the metal and wrapping around his left shoulder. He winced as the black inky limbs pulled letting out an audible snap as his shoulder popped back into place.

The shadow of the log was ominous to say the least. He had no choice, Maximos jumped back, his boot souls digging into the tree bark and then he leaped. His craned his right arm back flinging it forward. The black limbs around his arm whiplashed outward grabbing branches, trunks, and anything they could to get a firm grip. The tentacles immediately retracted, just as Maximos jumped pulling the Shadow, arm first into the block of wood aiming to shatter it into nothingness.

Without his boots he could only hope to quite literally sling shot himself into the log and force his way clean through. Just as he cleared the block, he cocked his right arm back aiming to use the force he had remaining, if any, to send him fist first into his old friend.

If things kept goign the way they were there wouldn't be much letf of the Dead Forest when the fight was over. Reinhart saw it all the dislocated shoulder, the inky tendrils, and his friend smash right on through the bit of tree. Knowing what came next he was prepared to test his strength against the Reaper's and cocked his right hand back. His energy flowing throug him and very visible in contrast with the dark sky and forest around them.

Like steam it rose off him and concentrated into his arm, his intent was simple, smash his fist into Maximos'. Just as Maximos made his way down on him all the energy was gone, it whirled round his fist as his while arm shook from the process. Like a pipe ready to burst under intense preassure he waited till the right moment to strike.

Maximos' fist came.

Reinhart's was sent in return.

Time slowed, the rain seemed to come to a halt, Reinhart roared loud and in vain for his voice was dorwned out by the suond that followed....

BOOOOOOOM!

The fists collided uncontested. The sound echoed in every direction around the forest. The rain pushed back to the heavens, off and away from the two fighters. A bright flash of of crimson and black light followed. The sound defening, the light blinding. Time had literally stopped for them both...
PostPosted: Sat May 05, 2007 1:32 am

With the force of his whiplash through the forest, the shadows fist was in the lead. He could see his opponent preparing an attack. Before the fist was swung he knew exactly what was about to transpire, the entire forest knew. The sound of crows cawing, and rats skittering had long since gone silent. Not even the humble crickets stirred.

Conflict like this was the very reason this world seemed to churn.

Reinharts fist was brimming with power energy seeped off each and every side, gushing outward. Maximos could off this man nothing less than what he was about to receive. The tendrils recoiled pulling in ambient shadows as gravity brought Maximos to his inevitable fate. His arm, though armored swirled in an aura of thing unholy black miasma. Tendrils were seen whipping from the holy fist, and still yet Maximos could feet his metal bones vibrating from his last attack.

That gentle hum, would give him the concentration he needed for this moment.

Carrying through his momentum, Maximos' legs were sent forward leading his fall. Though at that last moment, as Reinhart swung his punch, Maximos arched his back forward, spinning his body forward, unleashing the two fists upon each other. With just an inch before the two fists collided, a lightning bolt struck the ground a few hundred feet away and time seemed to stop.

For that singular moment you could see the energy lashing between the two fists. Tendrils of black reaching out and lashing against the wicked crimson glow. The two energy met at an invisible wall between them before the two fists ever did. It was almost as if some god, some immortal force had sought to pause reality at this very moment to seize a picture of a fight of these rare proportions.

The two fists collided in an explosion of complete and total silence. Both energy fought each other, in a half second of complete deafness. And finding a match in each tore out across the forest in either direction. The rain falling around the two fighters froze as if colliding with an invisible wall of force, neither fighters position would give. And then without a single warning the silence expanded into a deafening roar, ripping across the forest, tearing leaves from their homes, ripping light branches from the trees. Maximos grinned a wicked grin only he could grin, beaming down at his opponent. Despite the fact he had forsaken combat even he could never deny its thrills, thrills such as this pushing the body to its absolute limits.

Perhaps the boom, was a diety clapping. Or perhaps that was the thunder that immediately followed, shredding the sky. Either way, Maximos now found himself a slave to the very force he had generated. As if pulled by existance itself, he would be lost in the myriad of branchs tearing against his clothes and skin, before having his back slammed flat against a tree. The sound of wood, grain, and bone protesting as Maximos impacted. His body sliding down the tree, into a kneel on the ground below.

He could feel and see the steam and smoke rising off his right arm. His breathing was intense, his left hand rose shakily to wipe the sweat off his pain brow...a unless act in the rain. And slowly his eyes lifted, scanning for any sight of Reinhart. This was not over yet...

And just as Maximos did so did Reinhart. He was thrust back by the sheer force caused by the fists' collision. Through the clearing he went tumbling backwards over the wet dirt till he came to a sudden and somewhat painful halt. A tree was kind enough to stop him, his back slammed against it his arms hung on his sides, he sat there for a moment legs stretched outward.

Head low it only rose when he...

"Hahahahaha!"

This was what he'd waited for, his aching body was the proof, the steam rising from his arm his legs weak from the blow. He was laughing however, his life was in no threat, he was reminded that they fought only bcause they could. In the distance he saw Maximos on one knee, Reinhart smiled pushing himself up looking to his friend.

"That all you got?!"

He yelled out sarcastically, smiling all the while before he bent down low and took to the air over the small clearing a good 20-30 feet in the night sky.
PostPosted: Sat May 05, 2007 1:19 pm

Three pops snapped down his spine as he worked himself into a stand, his knee's ached. His right arm was limb beside him, it ached to think about moving it. His left was flat on the ground, his fingers dug deep into wet soil beneath him. His head hung low for just a moment. The Shadow's left arm burned like fire, streams of red dripped down his shirt from the lashes the branches had given him on the violent trip back. Blood and water began to gather in the underside of his sleeve, dripping out of the fold at his elbow. It left one burning question in his mind...is it worth it?

His eyes traced upwards, locking onto Cris with deadly precision as the fighter soared though the air. A smile slid across his features, the answer was clear, undoubtable...yes. It was entirely worth it.

He feet dug deep into the ground as the runes around his feet coursed with lavender insurgence. And with a single gust, and two twin streams of black exploding from beneath his feet, he rocketed up toward his opponent in the sky. His boots were knew, he lacked the precision to guide the exact speed of his flight, and so he quite basically aimed to slam his fist clear into his opponent.

Unlike Maximos, Reinhart was a bit more nimble in the air than met the eye and it was this small detail that would allow him to strike first. Rocketing at him like a missile Maximos flew straight and true, his fist ready to slam him back and more than likely back down to the ground. At the apex of the jump Reinhart shifted turning his body to mirror Maximos. Though he had no boots like his friend's he forced himself down with a strong push of wind.

The two fighters were on a collision course, Maximos rising, Reinhart falling, his hands out as if to catch the man. Aimed to bring his hands inside to catch Maximos by the shoulder putting his fist outside his grasp instead of in so he'd not be threatened too much by his punch. He'd slam into the Reaper pushing him down, pushing him back down to the ground. If Maximos pushed on with his boots Reinhart would spin to one side causing them both to spin out of control where'd he'd let go and slam his fist into Maximos' face.

If Maximos folded bringing his body to a somewhat upright position Reinhart would do the same and thrust his knee into the Reaper's abdomen. They'd be fighting in the air, all the way down, who hit the ground first was anyone's guess.
PostPosted: Sun May 06, 2007 6:25 pm

It was all planned out in his mind. The distance between the two men was calculated and plotted, his mind processing like a intense computer. But he was without a simple detail, and lacking as such his entire plan was tossed into ruin.

Cris had control over his descent, that meant that while Maximos assumed he had a particular amount of time to reach his opponent in actuality he had far less. His right arm cocked back, when the gust of wind shoved Cris into him. Flawlessly Reinhart moved outside and then inside the Reapers grip, grasping clean hold of his shoulder.

With the weight alone Maximos' upper body was sent back, his head angled toward the ground, his boots stiffly working against him blasting him toward the ground. Reinhart's knee scored a direct hit into the Shadow's gut, Maximos would immediately follow up by trying to gain a tight grip on Reinhart's shirt, attempting to pull the man in while he delivered immediate and repetitive head butts. When all else fails, Maximos was rather adept at using his head.

All the while his boots would carry the two men down on an angle toward the trees below.

Regardless of the tossed blows, just before smashing into the ground, Maximos would make an attempt at lowering his legs. Kicking up a wake of mud as his heels scraped into the wet floor before, the force of the his jet thrust repeatedly bouncing his legs off the ground. Before settling their flight on a straight horizontal, the two men would still be in a somewhat erratic flight, depending on what blows were tossed, just about 10 - 20ft above the forest floor, the height changing as branches or punches knocked the Reapers legs in various directions.

CRACK!

An obvious sound of skull smashing against skull, Maximos' headbutt cut Reinhart's head open slightly. A thin line of blood came down his face before the rain washed it away. No way he was getting hit a second time, those headbutts hurt like all hell. Stunned for a second as he was pulled back down for another he threw his forearm onto Maximos' chest locking then in a position where he could no longer be pulled.

His shirt would more than likely rip under Maximos' grip revealing the plate he wore to protect his chest. Now safe from being headbutted into submission, if such a thing existed in this fight, he brought his left fist back. Now he was holding onto Maximos' clothes just as much as Maximos was his as he let lose a massive punch to his friend's face. His knee remained in place, resting on Maximos' abdomen while his other hung losely like both of them in the air.

It was anyone's guess where they would land, how they would land, or what would bring them both to a painful and sudden halt. Along with Maximos' boots Reinhart was pushing in every direction trying to either keep them in the air, away from the trees, or in a crazy helicopter spin. Quite literally they were out of control and fighting in mid air. However, his left shot forward, followed by another left, then a forearm where the other punches may've landed.

Suddenly Reinhart was reminded of the cage fighting he'd seen a couple of times on T.V. though they weren't on the ground rolling here and there. They were in the air!
