The traveling Samurai in Feudal Japan who has disgraced himself in some way that you don't find out till the end of the game. The other samurai's in his clan wanted him to commit seppuku, but he refused, so now he is known as a wanted man.
You find him in your travels and he becomes one of your strongest allies.

The friend's mother who is actually the secret boss after beating the game. It seems rather harsh that the last chalenge is beating up and old, ill, and invalid woman. The best friend steps aside, glad that his mother will be forever gone from his life once the hero wins.

The albino guy who specializes in combat. He's got almost a hundred weapons, but his weapons of choice are his two scythes.
He is the hero's rival from the beginning and ends up being one of the henchman of the bad guy.

The little brother of the albino guy. They both are scythe fighters, but he always stood in the shadow of his brother.
Now that his brother has gone to the bad side, he decides that it must be his destiny to defeat his brother and so he joins the group of the hero.
