Oh, yeah, since all the other atheists were talking about when they stopped believing in God, I can give my story. It's pretty boring though.

One day when I was a smaller Sybrid, the cable went out on the television, so bored, I sat outside and started thinking about stuff. I started contemplating Santa Claus. I was a very small Sybrid, perhaps only 8 or 9 at the time, and I couldn't wrap my mind around it. How did he go around, giving gifts to people? There was no way anything could move that fast, not even the fastest airplanes I'd read about could make the journey in just one night. It was outside the realm of possibility. There certainly wasn't anyone else who could move that quickly outside of cartoons.

At that point I wondered if, instead, presents came from my parents, who wanted me to believe in Santa Claus because it was more exciting that way. After thinking about the two possibilities - that either there was some sort of ultra-fast fat guy flying around delivering gifts, or that my parents just hid the presents like they hid all the other ones, and then said some were from Santa, the truth seemed pretty obvious.

Then I applied my newfound logic to Jesus and figured it was basically the same thing. My mom kept bringing up Jesus because she wanted me to believe in magic in the world for some reason. That explained why my dad didn't seem into it - he didn't seem like much of a fan of either Santa or Jesus. Which made more sense: that there was a guy a long time ago who was magically born through some sort of special thing involving a ghost, was then killed by some Romans and Jews, and then wasn't dead because he loves everyone, or that this was my mom telling me stories like Santa Claus?

It was a couple years later that I realized that some of my adult relatives really, really believed in Jesus, and by that point, I was old enough to read some of the Bible myself, and I realized that it still seemed to be a bunch of bogus stories that weren't possible. Why should I believe that a long time ago, people lived for hundreds of years, that people could talk to burning bushes, and there was a guy named Jesus who was the son of God who could do miracles? There certainly wasn't any of that stuff going on, nor could I find any record of it in my history books. It seemed to me that what had happened was at some point, someone had told the Jesus story to their kids, and the kids never worked out it was fake, and they told the story, honestly believing it, to their kids, and some of them really believed it too, and so on and so forth...

Anyways, in conclusion, I don't believe in God because the television wasn't working.

BAH! I just had to get angry at someone.
Why do people love to provoke me? It's like some sort of sport for them. ******** n00bs. This is why I am forced to eat them.

Oh, the Inu Yasha guy? When I saw you jump on him, I felt sorta like "Err... that's right, I'm a mod; I should be like, enforcing the peace or something." I'll have to remember to be more Moddish in the future.

Woah woah woah sybrid! Calm down...Obviously I hit a thin thread that I didn't know was there, but you don't need to jump the gun and start assuming such "out field" accusations. I've listened to Kerry ever since he appeared on the scene. I've heard him on the news, read about him in the papers, listened to some of his speeches, listened to him on the radio and what others say about him on the radio, and did my own little research on his prior actions in the military and in congress, and I have come up with MY OWN opinions about the man.

And after doing all that...I decided that the man is a manipulative, arrogant sounding, "flip-flopping", dunder head. (among many other things) That's my opinion. (and just to rectify, I don't watch Fox News gonk )

Adult Swim is about the only thing I watch on TV anymore...(and even then, some of the shows I can't stand...*coughaquateemhungerforcecough*)
