MHHornfreak Well i like Selmer and if you're looking for those try the Series II or Series III horns which are made by Selmer Paris. I really liked the Selmer Reference 54 which is supposed to sound and play like the saxes of the 50's. These horns are nice but i'm not a big Selmer guy and i think they overprice their horns. If you're looking at Yamaha they have a great line of saxes to look at. The 62 series is a great pro line horn and is something that you could play through college with. Great action, wonderful sound and a real easy horn to play. Another great yamaha horn is the custom series i actually own a Yamaha custom 875 which is a wonderful horn. The difference in this horn from the 62 models is the keys are made slightly different which makes for fast action and easy finger placement. The sound resonates nicely specially with the G1 neck. Another brand you should look into is the Yanagisawa those are pretty good horns and are just slightly cheaper than the other pro horns. Words Of Wisdom From Bagel... Thank ye! I was actually looking at the Yamaha Customs... Now Go Forth And Share Them...

i agree, you should play tenor or bari. soprano doesn't have a part in many songs, you usually play alto and play soprano whenever there is a part.

So I'm going to but a tenor sax from my history teacher biggrin It's only a Selmer Bundi, but it works enough just to fool around on. Plus I'll get a "student discount" smile

Come to think of it, I got mine from a teacher. Well, my dad did, anyway. He bought it off a social studies teacher at my high school for about $75.

I'm very excited about it smile I was going to talk to my teacher about it this week, but I haven't had school since Tuesday morning. VA freaks out about snow XD and we have Monday off for presidents day and an early closing on Tuesday for teacher meetings. I'll have gone a week with no school biggrin
@ FlyingBagel (nice name by the way biggrin ) I'm not sure how old it is. He got is used himself, so... yeah. We'll see what happens smile
