Fas reacted almost instantly, allowing her blow to hit him, but she would feel a bit shocked to find it was like kicking a brick wall. Apparently Fas was in better shape than he looked, even though he already looked great.
In the split second after her kick landed, his right arm came down and wrapped itself around her leg, muscles bulging as he put a python-like grip on her ankle, her leg staying pinned to his side.
Fas, in the split second after he had wrapped his arm around her leg, performed a quick cartwheel, which would eaither put her on the ground from a loss of balence, or break her ankle from maintaining that balence. Or perhaps some other possibility he wasn't aware of.
As he spun through the air, his free hand shot down, impacting the ground, a odd runic symbol appearing on the ground, not very large but still noticable. His arm went back up to him immediately afterwards, in a guarding position, just in case she had some extra trick up her sleeves.
((Sorry it took so long.))

((Bleh....tired of red font. Oh, it's alright.))
Raine simply remained there, even after he had gripped her leg. Her eyes were still closed, and she didn't squirm or try to wriggle her way out of his grip. She simply relaxed and allowed him to perform his cartwheel, in which she eased her body over with him. Although, she wouldn't smack into the ground like he probably hoped, she would simply pull her right hand out of her pocket and place it onto the ground, which would ensure that she wouldn't take any hard hits.
Either way, she should be landing safely.
She abrubtly smacked both of her palms onto the ground, boosting her body up in quick reaction and shooting her left leg up, which was aimed directly for his face. She was moving at a high speed, he probably wouldn't even have time to blink before she was finished. Her boot most likely would smack him in the face, and he would fall backwards or stumble, which would give her an oppurtunity to regain her stance.
Also, as he was holding onto her shoe (as I assume he is), her might be surprised to find a dark substance suddenly traveling up his hand and arm, which was a dark substance flowing down her leg and transferring to him. Also, this dark substance wouldn't be gotten rid of so quickly, as even if it was touched by light it would multiply in darkness and expand back to normal quickly. In fact, it was always expanding, even as it was on his arm, so he'd have a massive pile of black goop coming up his arm that was expanding at a quick rate.
This goop wasn't just for show though, of course. As it made contact with him, it would suddenly begin to suck the energy right out of Fas, making him feel weaker ever second it's on him. The goop unfortunately didn't have the ability to transfer the energy to Raine, but if she could rid him of enough energy he would pass out, that would be her victory.
Then again, the most simple way of avoiding this was simply to let go of her leg and back up. But, Raine wasn't underestimating him either. She didn't figure he'd lose that easily.

And to counter, Fas did something she didn't expect in the least. Hell, not many people would ever expect someone to counter a kick to the face in this way.
Fas slammed his head forward into the incoming kick, his forehead hitting the boot with such tremendous force that she would most likely lose the feeling in her left leg, and, depending on the thickness of her boots, she could have her leg jammed very badly.
However, Fas was nowhere near done.
He still felt the energy being pulled from him, noticing the goop was what was causing it. He in this case, pumped his Mana into it, and then made the goop...well, evaporate. Since Mana couldn't be controlled by any but the one who initiated it, Fas would be able to maintain control of the Mana. And since the goop had absorbed the Mana, it gave him enough control to make the goop simply evaporate in a way. And just to clarify, the Mana had nothing to do with light, so the goop wouldn't multiply.
He shook his head to the side, tossing her numbed leg aside with the friction the bottom of her boots gave. The blow had split him wide open, blood flowing down his face and shining in whatever light there was.
He rushed forward on her very suddenly, his hand letting go of her boot, and sliding up her leg as he went forward, stopping and gripping her hip with a powerful grip.
His other hand went forward, intending to wrap around nearly her entire neck with it's massive grip. She would most likely feel the calloused feel of them, from ages of training and fighting.
And now Fas was in a very dominant position.
He was between her legs, which removed the possibility of her kicking him again, and the hand on her hip would prevent her from wriggling away from him. Now all that was left was his hand, going for her throat, which would be trouble if he did manage to grab her neck.
In the back of his mind, he still kept in mind his promise not to kill her, and her promise to do the same. Of course, he knew she might get carried away and kill him, but if anyone killed him, he would prefer it be her. She had yet again managed to earn his respect.
The only thing remaining on his mind was that this was a non-fatal match, and he had hundereds, if not thousands of techniques that he knew could kill her, but he didn't want to kill her, and personally wasn't sure he wanted to ever.
He remembered back to their "real" fight, and he hadn't wanted to kill her then. Back then it was because he didn't want to kill women, despite wether or not they were as powerful or stronger than him.
Now it was for different reasons. He respected her heavily, and maybe even...
All this was forgotten now, as this was the heat of battle, and if he remained distracted in his thoughts he would lose to her. Yet, for a moment, if she watched, she would have seen his face, one normally eaither indifferent or concentrated, change to an expression of calm relaxation, a look of...happiness.
And a look that Fasumbra Langardo had not worn since long ago, perhaps more than a hundred years it had been since that look had come over his face.
But it lasted for but a moment, his face returning to one of concentration as his hand went for her throat. Perhaps even it had been imagination...a trick of the light maybe...
And there remained one more factor in this little fight.
The rune he had placed earlier suddenly glowed white, not blindingly or hardly even noticeable, and a circle of other runes appeared around the first one, all completely different from te main one and each other. The process then began to repeat with each rune, the circle beginning to expand rapidly.
But, most likely she wouldn't notice it, being too busy trying not to get choked out by Fas.

It had been countered, but Raine expected this, although not at all in the way he chose to perform his counter. As his head crashed into her boot, she felt pain shoot up her leg, but it didn't quite numb it. After all, it was Raine, and Raine liked and always wore very thick rubber boots. But! The pain was enough that she preferred to avoid using it as best she could.
She suddenly placed her arms behind her head, placing her palms in a very uncomfy position behind her head. With a massive burst of energy, she pushed hard against the ground and wriggled her waist up, throwing her one leg that wasn't held up and onto the ground, so she would now be standing on one leg, and her other leg would still be held up by him. As mentioned before, Raine had quite the flexibility.
She looked up, in time to see a hand coming straight for her throat.
..."Heh.."
It was obvious Fas was getting way better. She actually was enjoying herself immensely, even though the situation currently looked bad for her. Honestly, she was a person who could accept defeat, even though she seemed like the type who would get angry. But, if someone's strong enough to defeat her, then she would respect them, not be angry.
Although, at the moment she had no plans of giving up so easily.
Her grey eyes looked troubled as she saw the hand, images flashing through her head at an immense speed of all possible moves. That was one thing Raine specialized in...the ability to analyze a situation and determine all possible moves and drawbacks of the situation in just a second or two. That was why she was able to fight.
And this guy...he just kept coming. He didn't let up on his attacks at all, which made Raine even happier. She couldn't stand a coward. Battle was about gaining the advantage and allowing no openings for your opponent, and he certainly had been doing well. She, however, had taken the more relaxed approach. Well....she was done with that now.
Her teeth suddenly gritted together, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead and onto the dirt below her. Her eyes looked angry, although she wasn't angry at him.
Her left hand suddenly slipped into her pocket, pulling out a small, round greyish looking ball. She couldn't believe she had to fight stage two against him already. Ah well, couldn't be helped.
She smirked, allowing his hand to grab onto her throat. She didn't struggle away from him, nor did she try to attack back. She didn't struggle for breath either. She simply allowed him to do it, and in not struggling she would have more time before she passed out.
Her hand opened...and it hit the ground.
The little ball she had pulled out of her pocket suddenly broke apart into many little pieces, smoke rising from it as if someone had put a flame under it. In fact, it began to turn to a powdery substance, which started to spread all over the ground like a fine dust. Surprisingly, there was enough of this powder from this little ball to cover the entire floor area.
Raine's left hand shot up and tightly latched onto his wrist that was holding her throat, but oddly enough...she held it in place, rather than try to get it away from her throat. It was as if she were trying to keep him there beside her.
The powder began to swirl around the two of them, as though a slight breeze had caught it in its grips and insisted on twirling it around the two. Although, the powder didn't do anything....yet.
Suddenly, Raine smiled at Fas, one of those "hah, I win" smiles. Although that's pretty odd, considering she was in a pretty bad position. She simply waited....
She didn't want to have to use this attack against him, but if he didn't back off then she wouldn't have a choice. And he may very well die, although she would do her best to make sure that didn't happen quite yet.

He felt his hand close around her feminine neck, and squeezed brutally, not hard enough to kill her, but enough that she would definately feel like she was getting choked. He adjusted his fingers, placing his thumb and middle finger on top of the arteries in the side of her neck. Despite not struggling or not, she would definately start feeling the effects of this, as a great deal of blood supply was cut off. Within but a few seconds she would begin feeling dizzy and lightheaded...if she let him keep his massive hand there long enough.
Fas felt the rock falling through the air with his Mana Sense, noting it, especially with the odd way she was behaving. He also noticed the smoke that began rising, and he realized that he might be in trouble.
He knew well enough when a situation was bad, and he wasn't foolish enough to think in the least that he was close to winning. If she was still the same woman he remembered, she wouldn't give up till he begged for her mercy or he managed to rough her up badly.
"Another marble, Raine?" He said, not really intending to get an answer.
His hand that was on her hip gripped even tighter, and she would most likely find some nice, finger shaped bruises on them once she looked there later.
He shook his head slightly, shaking off the ringing in his ears that the jarring blow to his face had caused but moments ago. His blood dripped off him in fat drops of the crimson liquid, running down his hard chest and dripping down onto her, his emerald green eyes locked with her grey ones, despite that his eyes were now a muddy green color with the blood in his eyes, dripping out of them like crimson tears.
The runes suddenly nearly doubled in their reproduction speed, spreading across the ground like some glowing wave. They spread out underneath the pair of battlers, glowing a bright white. And then, they truely became active.
What appeared to be darkness seeped onto the ground from the underside of the runes, and in a single second the entire ground was black. The runes now gave up their slightly angelic white light for a blood red, glowing like embers against the black ground.
And then, perhaps even more oddly, the darkness lept up and wrapped itself around the remains of the marble, and they just seemed to...vanish. No flash of light or anything, they just...stopped being there.
"Raine, don't make me hurt you." Fas said, his eyes staring down into hers with that same look of concentration he normally wore.
If Raine had sensing abilities even a third of Fas' level, she would be able to feel the ominious power of the runes and their darkness. She may not understand how it works, but she would at least get the feeling it would be incredibly bad news.
Fas was still choking her, but his grip seemed to let up a little, and his fingers moved away from the arteries. It appeared Fas had something else in mind, but he still kept his hand in place, forearm muscles rippling and working even under the grip of her hand.

((Sorry 'bout not responding for a few days. I was in and out and didn't have much time for Gaia.
Oh! And...if this post seems horribly sloppy, it's 'cause I've been up since 4:30, so I'm a little out of it. x_x))
It was too late.
Raine launched the attack as soon as she even felt the runes begin to do something. She had good sense of when something was going to happen, even if she didn't understand what it was. Plus, her particles of dust could move at the speed of darkness....which, most people didn't know, could move faster than light.
As Fas was standing there, he would suddenly be in immense pain. The particles suddenly shot towards him, which were flying at such a high rate of speed they wouldn't even be seen at all. They would all rip through his body, leaving him completely torn up all over. And there were thousands of them that did this. Even if he should put up a barrier, which probably wouldn't even be possible in that amount of time, these particles were flying fast enough to probably rip through anything that got into their way, regardless of what it was. His rune thing would be too late.
Fas might not die, if he let up at least. Raine had no intentions of giving up, but she didn't want to kill either. She did indeed respect him, and she preferred to leave the people she respected alive...unless she could kill him with honour, and in which case, it wouldn't be very honourable to kill him after making a promise.
Even as all these little balls shot through him, they did avoid his major organs, ensuring that he probably wouldn't die. He'd bleed a lot though, which he might want to do something about.
Also, she hadn't forgotten about his hand on her neck. She was pretty lightheaded, but she wouldn't give up that easily. Raine had the ability to push dark energy out of any part of her body..
So, she did.
At the place he was holding her neck she suddenly pushed a large amount of dark energy outwards, and this would be happening very shortly after he got impaled. This dark energy would form a slight barrier around his neck, so he wouldn't be holding her neck anymore, just a barrier of dark energy she placed around it, that way he couldn't choke her or press on her arteries or nuffin'.
As she did this as well (you know with her great speed and all...) she abrubtly reached behind her with her right hand, pulling out her Wakizashi that she had sheathed quite awhile ago. In one quick swipe, she unsheathed it in a horizontal motion, slashing as she drew the blade. This would slash right across his stomach with how close he was and all, and both of his arms were currently occupied. It wouldn't be a very deep cut, but combined with getting impaled a thousand times by weird dust, it would be a pretty nasty attack.

((No problem. This is very enjoyable.))
Ah, but she had vastly underesitmated Fas.
Due to his power, one of his most helpful, called Mana Sense, he would basically feel what she was doing before it happened, as the mental waves would have to pass to whatever source it was that was attacking him.
In the last second, Mana poured out from his body and, instead of becoming a barrier, slammed back against the particles with massive density and kinetic force, doing more than stopping the particles. They would most likely be sent flying away at amazing speeds, and traces of Fas' mana would latch onto them in the process of deflecting them. The mana itself would begin fighting the control she had over the particles, if she still had it. The bits of mana would give off pulses of electromagnetic energy that deflected her mental waves from ever reaching their destination. This would result in a sort of "numbness" of her connected weapons.
And then she attempted to remove his hand from her neck with a barrier of dark energy. Normally that would be impressive, but she had still forgotten about one thing, something Fas had left in reserve in case she tried the exact trick she just did.
His hands were still charged with Mana.
After but a moment of relief from the immense pressure his massive hand had been putting on her neck, she would find the pressure returning as Fas converted the electrical Mana to, yet again, his Holy magic. The Holy magic would incinerate her dark energy, and his now holy-charged palm would crash in on her throat again, and with the added element, she would feel a heavy burning sensation as the magic seared her flesh, the smell of burning skin filling the air. Thankfully, any wounds caused by this would be sealed and cauterized by the heat, but it would still hurt like hell.
However, she had at least earned a relent off her hip, as Fas' other hand shot off her hip, charged with Mana, and went to the blade of her weapon, which was swinging at his gut. The hand created a light barrier over it to protect from getting cut by her weapon, stopping the blade effectively. His hand closed around the weapon and began sqeezing inward, the barrier remaining to protect his hand. The blade would most likely begin to cave from the shocking amount of force crushing inb on it, and unless it was of something stronger than normal steel or had some sort of magical property that would keep it from being damaged in such a way, she would soon find herself minus a weapon.
But now, that was the least of her worries.
With all her attacks eaither blocked or at least defended against, the runes had now fully spread, and stilled for a moment.
Then, she would feel an odd pins and needles sensation on her feet. If she found the time to look down at the ground, she'd find that both she and Fas were being dragged under by the dark ground and the runes.
"Raine...I'm not going to play anymore...It's time for me to get more serious, instead of missing my progress...It's time I got serious, instead of messing around..." Fas said, looking down at her as his hands choked her and the magic burned her neck. Pity, such a thing would leave her one hell of a scar around her neck, in the exact outline of a hand.
And so, the runic symbols began to pull them both down, like quicksand, down into the darkness under their feet...

A small hole in reality would open. The fabric unweaving itself for a certain blob of black liquid to flop through and onto the sandy floor of the arena. It would squirm, and wrythe, and ultimately swirl into a 7'3 silver haired figure.
One who had to forfeit himself from a certain tournament earlier then desired.Tsk.Now the newly appointed Demi-God was battle hungry and willing to take on any and all challengers. So he stood propped against the wall that seperated the crowd from the fighters, fully battle ready and ajusting his armor by hand.

((*poof* Alright, so, I know its rude to interrupt OOCly, but... Airiza, you fail, miserably. First of all, darkness is simply a scientific term for an area with a low amount of photons, and thus, it is a product of light, in a fashion. A dark object reflects fewer visible photons than other objects, and therefore appears dim in comparison. For example, matte black paint does not reflect visible light and appears dark, but white paint reflects all visible light and appears bright. However, light cannot simply be absorbed without limit. Energy, like visible light, cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be converted from one type of energy to another. Most objects that absorb visible light reemit it as infrared light. So, although an object may appear dark, it is likely bright at a frequency that a human being cannot see. For more information, look up thermodynamics.A dark area has few, if any, light sources present, making everything hard to see, like at night. Exposure to alternating light and darkness (night and day) has caused several evolutionary adaptations to darkness. When a vertebrate, like a human, is placed in a dark area, it’s iris dilates, allowing more light to enter the eye and improving night vision. The scientific definition of light includes the entire electromagnetic spectrum, not just visible light, so it is physically impossible to create perfect darkness. For example, all objects radiate heat in the form of infrared light and Gamma rays, extremely high frequency light, can penetrate even dense materials. C represents the speed of light in this. In metric units, c is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second (1,079,252,848.8 km/h). Note that this speed is a definition, not a measurement, since the fundamental SI unit of length, the metre, has been defined since October 21, 1983 in terms of the speed of light: one metre is the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second. Converted to imperial units, the speed of light is approximately 186,282.397 miles per second, or 670,616,629.384 miles per hour, or almost one foot per nanosecond. Darkness simply does not go faster than light. *re poof*))

"Oh just beat her already."
A voice without emotion spoke suddenly. As focused as Fas was, he would undoubtedly acknowledge the very familiar voice that had just broken the silence. Although it was indeed sudden, whoever spoke had no intention to interrupt in the ongoing duel. Otherwise, it would've been more of an impact... literally.
The high tone of the voice made it sound close, but he who had spoke was actually more than 100 feet away. The figure seemed to be on what seemed to be a floating throne, except it had a much more detailed and noble look to it. But what was most noticable was the yellowish semi-transparent spherical barrier of some sort of bright energy, possibly magic. The energy glowed as if it was its own sun, making it hard to look directly at. The energy is almost mystical, only known to those who have past knowledge of it. It seemed to be the reason why the throne cleary defied the laws of physics and aerodynamics.
Interestingly, the man couldn't be clearly seen. The first thing in the way was, as aforementioned, the bright light. However, if one could see directly through the bright radiation one would notice a dark aura of sorts... a really ominous one for a light being around it. The reason these two co-exist is because of genetic reasons locked inside the cells of this sentient being.
"You sure are taking your time... and yet everytime you fight anyone else, it takes little time for you to quit..." Sarcasm. "I wonder why..." Even more sarcasm. His speech is filled with it.
The light became invisible, and his siloutte could be seen; a shadowy figure with red, glowing eyes. Darkness radiated from him almost as if it was some sort of...gesture.
Next to him, on the armrest, was a cute little monkey. He looked almost innocent, but he was actually... something that would be rather be witnessed than to be explained.
Why was he here? Well... Wouldn't you like to know... And cameos FTW.
