Asparagus Of Death Flaming_Ninja_Dragon Miyoko Clarinetti my BD says if there are about 40 clarinetists (like in my band)... I hate to say it, but if there were 40 clarinets in my band, I would probably quit. And the horribly sad thing is, I'm not kidding. I would feel like, "Oh, they have 39 other clarinets, why would they need me?" And anyways, there would be tons of competition, so I wouldn't be the pregame and halftime line-leader, or the right guide (in parades), or section leader. Although I would probably be in the top 10 now that I think about it, the top 10 sounds a bit unreasonable...yeah...but DDR has really helped me, especially with my sight-reading and general rhythum things. Back on topic, my band this year only has 16 or 18 clarinets. There would only be between 3 and 5 clarinets (counting me) if we all had to get up to high C. Oh my. I hope that you're not like the kids in my scool who call going over the bridge high C, they make me REALLY sad. well for us we pretty much need a balance; twenty trumpets...forty flutist...o_O; soo...yeah. rofl Not needed in band? Everyone has a purpose in band! O_o, My bd hopefully would try to make you feel needed...somehow :sweat;. Anyways...I used to be in the top three... rolleyes then guess mr. a started playing favorites after that? ash-XD i didn't know about the bridge till a month after I began playing gonk you make me feel bad o_O; anyways...I don't hate flutes...my clarinet teacher just does rolleyes

I just remember fingering along with my fingering chart starting from the bottom up. As soon as I saw all the darkened keys, I said, "Oh, s**t."

though we're mostly beyond regular theory. It's mostly him trying to teach me to sing now. : /

All middle school grades are in one classroom and there are exactly 28 people. Some of them are new (Like me) and we don't have to learn as much. And the sad thing is that there are only 2 clarinets left in our band gonk We used to have four but one moved away and one graduated. Next year the only other one will be graduating too crying I will be the only one left by 8th grade if no one joins in the next few years!! Umm...I don't know what kind. o_o sweatdrop ahh i see. eek eek 28....wow...thats small.... gonk ONLY TWO CLARINETIST?? That will be a bad balance for the band, especially if the trumpets over power them, my BD says if there are about 40 clarinetists (like in my band) then there should be about 20 trumpets. One of the most important things is balance! crying two...? so small...too small...if that were to happen and if it was only kimberly and i..I'd be biting her head off um...don't ask why...rivalry...and yet we're the best of friends heart >w< try seeing if some of your friends who don't sound very good at their instrument can sound better at clarinet? because its either the people who suck at their instruments don't try hard, or they try but just can't do it...for those who try and just can't do it, make them try clarinet for a week during lunch or something sweatdrop ah, talk to your BD about balancing...bands usually sound icky if they aren't balanced...unless the BD can do something without switching anyone o_O Yes, currently we have...4 trumpets, and like fidy million flutes. I don't like flutes confused even though all my friends are in the flute section, I think that they are overrated. MORE CLARINETS!!!! O_O...a million flutes...we have a equal amount of clarinetist and flutist....XD you're like my clarinet teacher he despises flutes rolleyes (i know i'm not a clarinet, sorry xd ) But my flute teacher hates clarinets with a burning, raging passion. My band teacher isn't Biased when it comes to instuments. She dosn't hate one or love another. Students is another story---- xd And she also says "Buuuuurn" Whenever one of the students *minorly* insults another.

I remember the first time I saw the clarinet, and I was like HOLY CRAP!! LOOKIT ALL THE BUTTONS gonk lol. Then I learned that I only have to learn to play less than half of those buttons in my first year xd ^_^ ah seventh grade...I was actually confident I'd get first chair..until I realized the other class had the better people rolleyes -_- but I think I pawned most of them...except kimberly stare what kind of clarinet do you have? biggrin xD! I was like, "oh so thats a clarinet....." :rofl; I tried sticking the reed into the mouth piece..until I realized I was breaking the clarinet... gonk O_O ONLY HALF!? In my band it was expected to go up to atleast high C! (well...i surpassed that before the others i'm proud to say blaugh even before kimberly last year...i sat next to her for a competition...apparently she doesn't remember rolleyes she says its her friend helen who moved away gonk ) high c?! burning_eyes well I guess it must be because, well I have a smaller middle school class. uh...yeah...you know, the dancing game at some arcades and on videogame systems? but you probably already knew that. xd yeah, it's a really fun game. Miyoko- I would stay in if there were friendly and helpful people like you in the section. ...does your whole band even fit on the football field? or on the stage for a concert?

when I think about it brandon is conceited, calvin is so conceited he plays loud and says he can beat me when he can't rolleyes (seriously....) daniel plays too blindly to realize he can't play...they don't take help or help anyone rolleyes when they do they don't make sense. Anyways...Kimberly can get conceited about her clarinet skills...which pawn mines big time...Nikki is a weird guy who plays like brandon sim but isn't conceited. Ann is just like whatever about stuff sweatdrop
...er so in conclusion everyone either thinks they are good and just tell other people they suck gonk or they ignore them etc etc... sweatdrop
...but its a rather interesting clarinet section sweatdrop I was surprised when Brandon ditched his section leader duties--as geeky looking and smart as he is, I didn't suspect he would---no one expected him to do that...but it left me as section leader oh the joy! heart stare
eh...sorta ranted sweatdrop sorry!

Odd, huh? wow, Miyoko, you got it pretty bad. sad but you still didn't say whether your whole band fits on the football field and stage. that is BAD seven flutes against twenty clarinets and ninteen trumpets (its also bad about the ninteen trumpets and twenty clarinetist O-O) that is ODD....even teh saxes out number them!??? =_= yes I'm left to take care of 40 clarinetist >_>! crying grr anyways well, since we're a MS we don't have foot ball fields...well, we can fit onto stages...but for some odd reason once we couldn't fit on stage (O-O) and the mallets had to play behind our conductor...i give them props for that heart

Our BD pretty much accepts anybody who knows how to hold and pretend to play an instrament. pretty much no middle school/junior high has their own field. Sure, we have a "football field" right next to our school, but it's 95% dirt, and the football team is usually on it. we use the high school/community field and track to practice on. There is also the REAL football field that we and the high school use for games only. So you're saying that you pretty much don't have a marching band?

We don't really talk about anything much, but please stay and chat! Really off topic: I learned how to cross-stitch the day before yesterday and I just finished a cute purple butterfly that's about 1.5" squared. I also started a larger 5" by 7" picture of a pair of wolves in the snow with trees and mtns in the background. It looks really nice so far. It's really fun, too.

I started out playing Clarinet in 4th grade (I'm going into 12th next year). But then in my freshman year, I decided that I'd play Alto Clarinet in Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble.
