Devon went to a different area than Lark. Trying to send her comfort through the bond. But he cut off the connection as Sheryl stitched up his wound and bound his chest. He didn't want Lark to share his pain.
But the time it was over he rested, needing to recuperate as Sheryl tended to others.

Kila looked away from Fredrick, not wanting to look him in the eyes. She felt his gaze burning her face.
"Only by blood." she said bitterly. "I want nothing to do with her. And I'm only a halfling anyway." she explained.

Scott set Lark gently down on the cot and sat beside it to keep watch. His arm had blood on it, but he seemed unconcerned.
"You should try to rest." he remarked.

Lark sniffed still crying, wanted to be with Devon while he was stitched up and she was hurt that he would block her out. It made her feel alone even through she was home, she wasn't with him. Lark even though she ached al over she doubted she would get to sleep, and she didn't want to didn't want to have the nightmares she knew that was waiting on her than she noticed his arm was bleeding even through his chestnut fur. "Scott i'm sorry." She apologized.

Fredrick watched her facial expressions so she wasn't a mini me of the fairy queen but still he was curious. "A halfing? I don't know what that is? But I can guess, how did that happen?"

Devon drifted off as he body tried to heal the sever damage it took. It would be some time before he was better. But as he lost consciousness, he also lost his concentration on blocking out Lark. Her presence was a comfort to him. He hoped she felt the same.

Scott looked at her and followed her gaze to his arm. "eh. That will heal. Nothing you have to be sorry for. Now the creature who did that, I made him sorry." he said with a ferocious grin.

Bo came up to sit beside Scott with a variety of bandages and wearing a white shift. She tossed a pair of sweat pants to Scott.
"Put those on before you traumatize the girl more." she joked, then pouted. "I can't believe you talked to her before me." She whined, childishly.

Kila shrugged. "Faeries don't always wait for a specific solstice to show themselves. They used to come out and mess with people, sometimes have human lovers." she explained. "My father was human." she said, getting up the courage to look up at his face.

Lark was comforted by Devon's presence once he let down the block he'd put between them. while she was comforted it wasn't the same as begin with him, touching him, begin held by him she was still feeling alone and then there was the fear that this all might be a dream and she was still with those fairies and Devon was dead. Lark also felt sad because she just found out her life was an entire lie, she didn't even know who she was or if the fairies killed her parents or if they were alive and didn't remember her or know her from Eve. She flinched a little away from Scott at the sight of his teeth which had some blood on them, looking up as Bo came over she joked even though she was beyond emotional drained and she wasn't in the joking mood. "Not only did he not speak to you, he carried me over the threshold too but don't worry your only married to him after all."

Fredrick thought about that and he realized he couldn't hold anything against her because she was a victim to. "So how do you know the Elder?"

Kila shrugged again. "He was a friend when no one trusted me and I needed a home. He was younger then. Still old." she said with a slight smile.
She looked over at the group of humans huddled in the corner looking lost, some just staring, most fearful.
"What are we going to do for them?" she wondered aloud.

Bo stuck her tongue out at Lark as Scott pulled on the pants and shifted full to human. "That's just mean." she said, kneeling beside Lark.
She noticed that look in her eyes. She'd seen it before a few times. "You want to see Devon, don't you?"

Lark blinked at Bo did she know her that well. "Is it that obvious, I am I that easy to read?" She asked breaking eye contact with her friend as she admitted something that had happened to her in Fairy. " I mean a few hours ago I thought he died the night I was taken and I almost died again." She told them exhausted.

Fredrick tilted his head in a very animal like manner before he went over and put on some sweat pants. "I don't know, you have any idea?" He asked her

"They can't go back to their old lives, but perhaps I could help a few." she said. She reached up to play with her pointed ear. An old habit. "I'm sure a few would stay and try to piece their lives back together. With the help of the wolves I hope."
She pitied them. What terrible things they must have been through.

Bo looked at Scott and he nodded, picking Lark up again. "You are very transparent I'm afraid, but that just makes it easy to keep you from hurting yourself." she said, tapping the girl's nose.
They walked back to the room Devon slept in and lay Lark beside him. "I don't think he'll complain, but don't tell him we did this." Scott said with a wink.

Lark frowned a little at being poked in the nose. "Now that's mean Bo, I need that nose y'know , and besides I don't think I'll have to tell him, it's not like he would believe I got up and walked across the room after having my soul nearly sucked out. And I was under the watch of Scott the great who misses nothing" She winked at her friends and tried to settle down for sleep feeling worlds better. "Thanks guys."

"Yes I know but we never took in this many humans in before, besides we don't know which ones we can trust and their world has changed drastically over the years they have been gone." Fred said

"I'm sure other packs can take a few. They shouldn't be thrown away." she said, suddenly adamant. "They all deserve help." She looked Fred in the eyes challenging him to disagree.

Scott patted her shoulder gently. "Anything for you Lark." he said, and stood.
Bo pushed him with her shoulder. "Anything huh? Should I be worried your going to leave me for her?" she teased him.
He pushed in close to him with a sudden jerk making her grin. "You know I didn't mean it like that. And my eyes came barely stay off you." he leaned to kiss her neck. "I'm so glad you are alright."
"I know." she said, finding a private corner for them both.

Even though Fredrick could really meet that challenge and back it up too he just not to he looked away not in submission no his pride won't let him but he did assent to her plan he didn't say anything else on the matter. "Its not wise to challenge a wolf, especially now." Was all Fred said before finding a spot to rest. he saw Bo and Scott in a private cornor. "Something's never change."

Lark rolled her eyes at her friends before closing her eyes and attempting sleep, gently laying her head on Devon's arms.

Devon stirred slightly. Enough to shift and move his arm over Lark. This cause him to grimace, but sleep pulled him back under once more.

Kila shivered violently. She pressed herself against the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. She started rubbing her legs.
"Sorry," she said to Fred. "I just don't think anyone should be left alone. Not when like that. I know how that is like and it's not anything I wish on anyone."

Lark sighed and laid her head lightly on his shoulder worried about hurting him even though he was deeply asleep. Closing her eyes she went to sleep only to wake up toward dawn from nightmare so bad that she completely forgot where she was and believed she was back in fairy.

Fredrick was making his bed near to where Kila was he looked up as she spoke watching her quietly. "I get it." was all he said

Lark's distress startle Devon into wakefulness, moving as if to rise. A odd sound escaped him, halfway between a snarl and a groan, A reaction to both pain and whatever was threatening his mate.
His mind cleared quickly and he laid down once more, looking around. Lark was awake, scared and right beside him. He didn't know how she got there and really didn't care. Her rubbed her arm gently.
"Shhhh. It's okay. You're safe." he whispered.

Kila lay down curling up in a ball. "I'll so cold in here, it's making my legs ache." she said, taking one of the blankets that were offered to everyone by one of the females. She was a very gently looking woman who took the time to try and comfort the scared humans as well, which she was grateful for.
She wrapped the blanket tightly around her as she lay to sleep.

Lark jumped in a little when she felt a hand touch her arm, and for a moment her heart beat accelerated more almost causing her to hyperventilate because she couldn't see who or what touched her in the darkness, but as she heard Devon's voice she calmed down slowly as she remembered. "I'm sorry." She apologized once she was calmer.

Fred soon went to sleep and found himself sleeping more deeply than he ever had

Kila eventually feel asleep as well and fitful one. She twitched, wiggled, and muttered a lot in her sleep.
After a time sleep seemed impossible, so she left to go outside. She took her blanket and decided to watch the sun rise and warm her. She ached all over from the night's battle.

Devon sighed heavily. "It's fine. You had a bad dream." he said. "Do you need me to sing you to sleep again?" he asked.
