"We face the king of demons, the monster that once ruled all Magvel.
He's more powerful than any one of us here. But we have something that beast will never have.
We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity.
That is our weapon. That is our strength.
Is everyone ready? We're going to win."

"...I get the feeling your intelligence is rather lacking." Ephraim responded flatly. Clearly if she believed what she said second, her perception needed some serious work! Though really, her intellect was clearly lacking to some extent at least!
"Ugh...!" Still, regardless how intelligent she may or may not be, she was clearly in control of the situation! "You're a fool," He said with a slight grimace. "To shun the help of others will cause your skill to stagnate. Only an idiot would believe they can't improve with the help of others, whether because they're too overconfident or too prideful. Refusing to seek the help of others and trying to take shortcuts to power--you're the biggest fool I've met here." Her threat about making him walk on all fours didn't exactly intimidate him--he assumed the threat was as empty as her head! "This road isn't going to lead where you want it to--you're setting yourself up for failure and worse, and- urgh!" Well, she was good at forcing him to shut up at least, and she'd be treated to exactly the expression she was hoping for, defeat, humiliation, and some pain!

"Keep insulting me, see what happens. Don't say I didn't warn you, either! " She glared at him, giving him a light kick in the side. Obviously not enough to really hurt him, but to get the message into his head that little kick was just a warning. "Blah blah blah!! I'm so SICK of hearing that! I was wrong about you, I see..I thought I was talking to someone who would understand, but I was wrong. And now, you can stay like that for the rest of the day, if that's how long it takes to melt. Remain there and stay humiliated as the others come across the bound up little king! " Autumn was easily insulted, it seemed! It was no secret she wasn't the most mature one of all the future kids. She could ALMOST enjoy the humiliated look on Ephraim's face, but those words bothered her enough that she ended up more annoyed with him then she was able to handle! Mock waving at him, she turned swiftly, giving the last pull of the leash before tossing it away and onto the ground! She had better things to do!

"...It isn't an insult. It's only the truth. You're an absolute fool." Ephraim responded severely. "If you really believe this is- gah...!" Well, regardless of his insults, it was still clear who was in control here. And there was little he could do but obey her command, helpless to escape or do anything except give her the picture she wanted and lay there in defeat as she strolled away! That little mock wave and last pull on his leash certainly pushed the humiliation even further.
Once Autumn got some distance away from the bound and defeated king, she'd come across her FAVORITE sibling, arms crossed beneath her chest, that same gaze as ever as she looked directly at her. "..." Closing her eyes, pink energy gathered across Minerva's palms, as she closed them together before throwing them out, a large pink sigil covering the ground around them and encompassing them both. Clearly Autumn needed a time out, and she'd understand that's exactly what she was getting. She wouldn't be able to leave the wide circle no matter what she tried. "Your immaturity has reached new heights." Minerva said, opening her eyes as she crossed her arms under her chest once again. "King Ephraim is wise beyond his years... there is no shortcut to power. And if you want to accelerate your growth, practicing with our mother would be a great way to do so. ...Or me, but you clearly hate me." She said, her eyes not changing from that perpetual disappointed look she seemed to have for everyone except sometimes Ariel. "Tell me, Autumn... what price are you willing to pay for the power you don't have the patience to earn? ...You might think your own health is a fine sacrifice. You don't value your life at all, that much is certain. But do you think you're only putting yourself in jeopardy? Your life alone would be too high a cost, but uncontrolled dark magic could take much more from you than that. If this power robbed the life of someone you care about..." She closed her eyes. "If this power cost Astrid her life, is that a price you're willing to pay? If it killed our mothers? Our sisters? How many lives are you willing to jeopardize in your mad dash for power?" She opened her eyes again, now narrowed. "How many, Autumn? You aren't playing with your life alone. You're quick to become irritated when called a fool, but you're certainly acting the part. An ignorant fool who thinks they can handle anything on their own. Who thinks endangering themselves only endangers themselves, and no one else. That is ignorance. Every time you jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize everyone who cares about you as well. Your recklessness does not only impact you! Grow up, you petulant child!" Minerva was certainly not happy, that was certain. Autumn's flippant behavior had caused many problems over the years, and this was perhaps the worst of it--not something Minerva was willing to ignore. Autumn would just have to hope it was only Minerva who caught wind of this ambition of hers, and not their mother.

Autumn would come to a sudden stop as her eyes came to meet her older sister's gaze, her eyes narrowing slightly, she could tell this wasn't going to end well just by that look, while she may of held that serious expression pretty much ALL the time, as her sister, she could see the slight differences in it even so. From the second she noticed her beginning the work of a spell, Autumn moved quickly to get herself out of the sigil before it was completed, but as expected, the perfect sister there rarely failed, and Autumn would come to the realization that she wasn't going to be leaving as soon as she hoped. "Using your power against your own family is against the rules! " It kind of was, Unisha wasn't a fan of it, unless it was harmless and more so out of playfulness, but this was holding her against her will, so in Autumn's world, it was against the rules. "So is ease dropping, spying on me now?! I was right to stay away after all.." She did wander, until she came through that portal with her unwanted friends, she was a rare visitor to Avalanche. As out going as she was, she did find she was better off on her own, and she was. Everything she learned to now, she did it herself, despite what everyone wanted to believe. Not a single person on this island believed in her! "I've said it MANY times throughout my life. I learn on my own terms, my own way. I don't require practice! I don't need you, or anyone telling me what I should do. " She turned away, the more she looked at her, the more angry she became. It was a strange mix for someone who was generally always so cheerful and goofy. "Hate is a strong word, annoying is more fitting for you.." It took a LOT to say she didn't hate her, when she annoyed her so much. But it was true, she didn't hate her, even if it seemed she did. Autumn's jealousy ran deep. "Just stop already. I'm so sick of hearing this, everyone thinks they know me, or how I feel! I DO IN FACT Value my life! You talk like you know everything, but you don't. I know what I can handle, more so then you do. I know ME. You don't! I'm not going to be 'taken over' by some stupid evil power. Believe it or not, I'm a lot stronger then you think I am. Nothing would happen to me, or any of the family and friends. The only thing that will happen is our enemies go DOWN. Stop worrying about what I do, and worry about your own self. I'm not going to ruin your perfect little life. Now, release me..I won't ask again! "

"I don't adhere to your rules, Autumn." Minerva said simply with the same level of perpetual disappointment that always seemed to be in her voice and face. "Hardly. Believe what you'd like, though." Autumn's little plans were no secret to Minerva--it was unlikely anyone could keep a secret from this woman. It was because she had finally vocalized them with the clear intent to go forward on them that Minerva decided it was time to intervene. "You don't require practice," She raised her hand, and Autumn's hat would suddenly fly off her head and into Minerva's awaiting grasp. "You only require items and artifacts that allow you to skip it, isn't that right? So you can harness power that doesn't belong to you. That you didn't earn." Her eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you do now? I'm a Reaper who's taken away your hat. What do you do? What power can you call upon tp protect yourself? And since you're so adamant about doing everything alone, who do you rely upon now that you're helpless? The answer is that you're captured, and you endanger those who care about you as they rush to rescue you." She reared her arm back, throwing the hat back to her, as it sped towards Autumn's grasp telekinetically. "Our mother gave you artifacts like this to help you channel your magic when you were young, because you were so distraught that it didn't come naturally to you. They were never meant to be a substitute, but a crutch to help you until you managed on your own. But you've developed a dependence. You never removed the training wheels. There's no shame in using something like this, but it's pathetic to never even try to move past them. To convince yourself you're too good to ask for help and that you're fine on your own. You aren't. BOTH of our mothers are significant targets for Reapers, and the easiest way to get to them is through you. And yet still, brazenly, you stride around alone as though the only life you endanger is your own. When will you grow up? You aren't a child anymore." Minerva's lecturing was something everyone in their group knew well of, the uptight and incredibly powerful girl was quick to point out flaws in logic or lifestyle when she found them. And she always did. Autumn likely got the worst of it, but perhaps for good reason. At Autumn's last little demand, Minerva remained still, her arms crossed beneath her chest, and her eyelids only lowering slightly to a more disappointed expression. "No." She responded simply. "It's gone too far. You will remain here until you understand the severity of your desire. Until you understand what I'm trying to tell you. We will be here as long as it takes. I'm sorry to say, you don't intimidate me, little sister."

"They aren't my rules. It's a basic rule of all Serenitians. It may not be heavily enforced, but it is there. Above all it's about respecting others privacy, which you seem to ignore when it comes to me! " Given their not so stable sisterly relationship, Autumn couldn't shake off the feeling that just about everyone was against her in some way. She wasn't the most mentally secure."....? " She might have to seriously consider a magic to hold her hat in place, and make it impossible for anyone to grab it off her head, after all, that was a constant worry in the back of her mind. "...Why ...Why do you have to be like this?! You have no right to tell me what to do, or how I should be. You have no right to tell me how I choose to live my life. MY life! Not yours! I choose to fight with what was given to me, I'm not you. I'm not our mother. I prefer things as they are, i'm not wasting a second of my life studying in some room for hours on end. I have these items she gave me, and I prefer to use them over anything else. You prefer what you worked for, that's you. Not me."
She took a moment, before continuing. "...And i'm never completely helpless..." She crossed her arms, looking away. "At that point I would call the only one I know that could help without being put in danger...Our mother is basically unstoppable, no one could get to her..." Although it wasn't exactly the best way to go about it, Autumn did tend to hide in the safety of their mother, Carmen. She felt as though she never really had to worry when all she had to do was call out to her and be saved! Not that such things happened often, as hard as it was to believe, it was rare she ever needed any saving.
Raising her hand a bit, Autumn caught hold of her hat as Minerva threw it back to her with her telekinesis. "Hmph..I'll stick with my 'training wheels', thank you..This is my way, and it will always be this way. I find it even more annoying how you make everything sound, When have I ever been taken by a Reaper? When have I ever been in need of saving because of a Reaper? Never. I'm not some helpless fool you seem to see me as. " Her eyes narrowed, she was REALLY starting to regret coming to the island. It really was cursed with bad luck! "I feel sorry for any kids YOU have with Ariel, what will you do, throw them in a room and lock them in there with your power for days until they are 'good'?! "
"...O-oh....! Kids, with me?! He,he! " Oh yes, Ariel was just...........there...happening upon the argument between the sisters accidently, but being unable to make herself leave. She thought maybe she could help with the situation, but...well! It was a bit deep, it seemed. So she kept back until those last words from Autumns mouth broke her sneaky silence! Ariel's reputation to be aware of her surroundings continued to be pretty terrible, when she ran right over to the two, not even seeming to register the magical sigil that was keeping the two kind of confined within it, Autumn, more specifically. Had she allowed her through, and Ariel was lucky enough not to smack right into the magic that would repel her, she would slip right over to Minerva and latch onto her arm. "We haven't spent enough time together yet...Let's go for a walk, or explore the island together..Let's just do something fun! " It wasn't that she was trying to interrupt, or distract her from what was probably pretty important of a conversation, but it was Ariel, she was almost just as bad as Autumn when it came to really using that brain of hers! Had she actually distracted Minerva enough, and caused any breakage in the spell, Autumn would not waste a second before she would notice and use her own magic to teleport herselff away instantly!

After completing a set of pull ups using a tree with branches low and stable enough, Reiner dropped to his feet, brushing his hands off together. "Think that's enough training for now..." He said mostly to himself. Go figure, with two parents so fit and athletic, the entire family tended to keep themselves in shape. They were such a close family, they tended to do most things together, including working out and training. His mother was so loving and affectionate by nature, it was hard for the family to not be close. Even with how socially awkward his father could be, in her presence, he could do little but to submit to her overwhelming charm!
"Nice outfit, does it come in hetero?" Zane's attempted taunting broke the prince from his thoughts.
"Oh, thank you! You look great, too!"
"That was supposed to be an insult!"
"...Huh. Really? But you complimented my outfit." One could practically see the question marks popping in above Reiner's head. "Oh! I was just about to see if I could find a sparring partner. You're just in time!"
"Sparring?! Heh, don't you remember last time we fought, and I completely crushed your little pride and showed you who the real man was?"
"Ohh, yeah, I remember! you really showed me who was in charge!"
"Oh, maybe you just like losing to me, heh... Did you have fun getting completely owned by a real man, so now you're begging for more?"
"Yeah! It was a lot of fun! Let's do it again!"
"....." One could practically see the blank look on Zane's face. Was it possible to actually insult Reiner? "...Well, I might consider it, if you get down on your hands and knees and beg,.."
"Hmm? Well, all right." Reiner was quite literally about to do that with no reservations whatsoever, but was stopped.
"Reiner... You don't have to obey him, you know."
"No, he totally does. I destroyed him before, so he obeys me now!"
"Shut up, Zane." Annette responded flatly. "...If you're just into this kind of kinky s**t, you should obey me instead. I'd be a much better master than him, and I'm much better looking, too." Annette grinned with a little more than a hint of evil!
"Oh, you're much better looking, just like with Hiyori, huh? Want to bring me all around the island next?"
"Shut up, I said! Hiyori learned her place, though. Heh... heheh..." There was nothing good behind that laugh, that was for sure!
"...That is exactly the problematic mindset I'm talking about. The idea that you're invincible because even if you fail, someone will be there to bail you out. If you rely on our mother to rescue you, and a Reaper anticipates that, how will you feel when she's captured because of you? Powerful though our mother may be, she is not invincible, or unstoppable." Even though she certainly seemed it at times, Minerva knew better than to believe that. Everybody had betters, and everybody could have a bad day. Just ask Ephraim today, who was perhaps the most skilled person in Avalanche, yet kept losing today! As she may have hoped to get a rise out of her by mentioning children with Ariel, she might be disappointed when that expression didn't change for a single second, not a hint of color to be found. "Though I doubt anyone would want to have children with me, I would hope if I had children they would be more mature than you are." She said flatly. "Though I doubt I have to worry about that." Whether that was because she didn't think anyone would love her to have children or it was a comment on Autumn's lack of maturity, who knew. Even at Ariel's surprise appearance and attempt to drag her away, Minerva's expression didn't change, still kept firmly on her little sister. "I don't have time to spend with you right now, Ariel. My sister needs my help. ...Whether she realizes it or not." That was one thing you could say about Minerva, she put her family's needs before her own pleasure. She put a lot of things before that... "She's so scatterbrained that she'd stop thinking of what I'm telling her the moment I let her leave, so I won't. Not until she understands what I'm saying. The longer she's forced to stand here and stare at the face she despises, the more she'll remember what I've said." In a way, it was a rather brilliant way to enforce her words and punish, especially for someone who clearly loved freedom perhaps even a little too much. It was perhaps equally good at making her family dislike her even more, but that didn't matter to her. They didn't have to like her, but they would respect her, and heed her words. Whether they wanted to or not.

''You have little faith in her. There's no way a pathetic little Reaper could get a hold of her. It's an impossible thing, and ridiculous to even bring it up.." Autumn said with such certainty, it was clear how much she praised at least one of their mothers. "..Maturity is a bore. If I have kids, i'll make extra sure they actually know how to have fun, smile and laugh. Not turn them into robots like you would! " She was so serious, so strict, and with not a ounce of the ability to have fun in her, any children she had would become nothing but robots, in Autumns eyes!
"..Huh..? Oh...ohhh..." It hit her a bit to late, the real realization of the situation, and how rude she was for breaking into their little...conversation. "..Okay..Don't you think maybe keeping your sister as a prisoner might be a bit much? ...you might be here longer then you anticipate. Even I know how super stubborn she is.." She said those last words in a whisper, so only Minerva could hear.. "...Well....um, i'll just go..." Gosh, this was really embarrassing. For once, she actually felt embarrassed about something she did. With nothing more to say, she hurried off, eventually leaving the scene to let the two awkward sisters continue their little talk.. "..You mean the more i'll grow further apart from you. You mean the more I won't speak to you....You mean the more I want to take the status of sister away?! Keep it up, I promise you I won't back down, and I most certainly won't respect you.I will -never- listen to what you have to say! " She raised her arms a little higher, before suddenly throwing them both outward, her palms facing Minerva as a sudden gust of incredibly strong wind would head for her. Now that she knew she had no intentions of letting her out of this ridiculous 'cage'. she wasn't going to sit pretty and let it continue. If it meant to fight her, she would do it. If she got hurt in the process, it would be her own fault! For now ,she really just hoped that strike of wind would knock her back hard enough to knock her concentration off, to break the spell.

"You have too much faith in her. No one can win every fight. Not me, not her, certainly not you." It went without saying Minerva deeply respected her mother's power--it was absurd. If anything, few people could probably appreciate it to the same extent that she could, given she was so similarly gifted in terms of magic. Still, it was irresponsible to assume they were invincible. "...Let's take Reiner's father as an example. Ephraim is one of the most skilled warriors on this island, and very well may be the strongest physically. While he may not have any magical talent like our mother, his ability of overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds may be even greater. He's the only one I know of who can resist mother's Power Word spell. ...But even with that, he's been defeated today multiple times. Shez, Aeon, Sephriea, Cissnei--even Kaden, who is very likely the weakest warrior on this island. All have dominated him. ...As you clearly know. Whether it's truly a hex, this island is somehow cursed against him, he isn't fighting seriously, or he's simply having a bad day... the fact remains. Kaden dominated him. If you think our mother could never be overcome by someone powerful like Krul under any circumstance, you're a fool. Even if she wins 99 times out of 100--9,999 times out of 10,000!--that's still a greater risk than I'd like to take." She sighed softly. "And that's considering fair odds, which Reapers wouldn't use. She's inevitably one of their biggest targets with her power. Our other mother as well..." How many ways would she have to say these things to broaden her perspective enough that she understood what she was saying? ...Although her focus had been squarely on Autumn since this had begun, Ariel's somewhat somber departure finally broke her focus, causing her to look after her as she left. Part of her wanted to stop her--she didn't mind her being around, of course... but she had to do this. "Ariel..." She said softly.
...And then she was flying backwards.
She would usually have taken precautionary measures to protect herself from magic, but she must not have felt it necessary with her sister, or perhaps it simply slipped her mind. "Ugh!" She let out as her back hit the barrier, causing it to briefly shimmer into visibility on impact before returning to invisible, followed by Minerva dropping down to her hands and knees, clearly very caught off-guard by this! It was also clear she wasn't actually hurt. She had incredible magic resistance naturally, but she had certainly been caught off-guard and had the wind knocked out of her by Autumn's sudden attack. It was also clear, the barrier around them certainly hadn't gone anywhere.

Autumn let out a heavy, bored sigh. These lectures were something of torture to her ears. "I know she isn't invincible, i'm not an idiot. I also know she may as well be, considering she has never been taken by a Reaper, or met with any that could ever actually challenge her. And even if she did, if there was that SMALL chance she met a challenge, or got captured, all of us would be there to save her. They couldn't handle ALL of us.It's no different then what any of our friends would do. Everyone is always there for each other...I for one, don't mind taking risks to help others.." Nothing Minerva said was going to change her mind, as Autumn was so well demonstrating.
The next few moments came to a shocking surprise, as Minerva's distraction caused her to be thrown back against her own barrier as the current of wind took her there. Autumn, on the other hand, was so completely shocked, she completely forgot herself, as that trade-mark goofy grin came across her face, and she jumped up and down like a excited silly child! Laughing as she did! "I got you!! I REALLY got you!! " She had never laid a single hit on her ever in her life, even if it was Minerva being distracted, and making such a opportunity happen, Autumn was going to enjoy that moment and never forget it!
At least she wanted it to stay like this, but as her silly moment started to calm down, so did her over active brain, and she quickly shook off that smile, coughing and clearing her throat as if trying so hard to be serious! "That was just the start, and in such a enclosed space, this is about to become really dangerous. For you..." She raised her arms outward to either side of her this time, forming a sort of circle as a dark purple sigil would begin to appear behind her, small orbs aligning the circle all around would suddenly materialize into magical blades, all locked onto Minerva. "I'm going to defeat you, once and for alll! And when I do, you are going to RELEASE me! " With those words, she threw her arms out forward, and all of the dozen magic swords sped through the air, all heading directly for her darling older sister!

"As usual, you fail to understand what I'm saying. If you're entrapped within the Reaper realm and none of us can come save you except mother, and she's defeated, what happens then? What happens if we do come, and we're all defeated and enslaved? Will you not then wish you had heeded my advice, and honed your own power instead of relying on gimmicks and trinkets?" Her expression remained, though perhaps more serious now. "You may not mind risking your own health, but when it's others risking theirs for you, you certainly won't have the same bravado. And you know they would, so why recklessly endanger yourself?"
She was fully prepared to stand there and lecture her for a year if that's what it took, but it seemed their little confrontation was bound to end in a bit of fun sisterly violence. Gods, that laughing was like torture--she sounded so smug! She could just imagine her expression. Still, she was caught too unawares to do much in retaliation, at least for the moment. But that moment might be extended, as her sister would display her (kinda) own magical prowess. (10! Minerva must skip her turn, and Autumn's next roll has advantage!) "Ugh...!" She let out as she was rather helpless to resist Autumn's magical onslaught, the magical blades easily finding their mark. With Minerva in such a helpless position, there was little more she could do than to sink further towards the ground and huddle her body more to protect herself, which inevitably left her only more open and looking perhaps more pathetic against her sister! With her magical onslaught harrying her ability to try to concentrate on other spells aside from her seal, along with her having the wind knocked out of her, this wasn't the best showing so far for the crown princesss!

"What's with this sudden confidence in the Reapers beating ALL of us? Are you serious right now? There's no way in the universe that something like that will ever happen. If they were that powerful, and that successful, they could come at us anytime regardless of what I'm doing. If that was the case, Krul would have had Uni-mom a long time ago! They've never succeeded. Stop worrying. You need to give this up, or you and I will die here of starvation and thirst, or heat. Take your pick.." She crossed her arms.

Until at least, her moment came to confront her sister! If she wanted some kind of proof that she could handle herself, then she was certainly going to show her, and as it was, it was off to a good start. She could throw out some devastating attacks with the confidence knowing just how good Minerva's magical resistance was, she wouldn't hurt her TO severely, but it wasn't going to be pleasant either way.
With her sister looking utterly helpless, huddling her body to desperately try to protect herself from the magic, a twisted little grin spread over her features, Oh, the feeling that came over her right now was.....to great. Was it wrong of her to be enjoying this so much? "Never stop doing what you're good at. And what i'm good at, is using these artifacts, and I won't give them up for anything. I'm going to use them, and anything I can do keep winning! And if I have to hurt you a bit just to make you see, it'll be done, sister! "
"Incoming!" In that position, as pathetic as it was,she might as well give her some leverage and warn her she was about to pull off something against her again! And with those following words, if she looked up at all, she would see another onslaught of the same dark energy blades making their way towards her, which upon striking her, would explode into a dark energy that wouldn't feel very pleasant for the princess of holy light there! With Unisha's side, they did hold a incredible amount of holy energy to them. Something darker magic like this would cause a lot of pain to!
