"It's just plain dreadful weather." He said with a small laugh.
"No problem." Her smile was payment enough. He loved seeing her happy, loved seeing her white teeth when she was grinning at him like that. He'd almost forgotten about seriously needing to just get away from her and go inside and not be close to her. Because right now, under the beech tree, he just felt completely normal. Almost, though. That little nagging feeling was still crawling around in his head, pissing him off incredibly. He ignored it for the time being. He'll listen to it later...but not right now...
"Speaking of Quidditch, we have another practice coming up." He'd remember this one for sure, it being the day after fullmoon. At least he'd make it to this one.
"I won't miss this one, swear." He said, putting up his right hand like he was about to testify in court. He grinned and winked then put his hand down with a bit of a sigh. He tried to make light of that situation, now that it was all said, done, and overwith, but it still bothered him that she may never know the real reason. That she might never trust him fully and completely, because of that one night.

Fionna felt much warmer after putting on Lucas' jacket. She breathed in his scent and allowed it to envelope her. It smelled so warm and good. She didn't make it too obvious not wanting Lucas to notice though. She nodded in agreement to him again as he made a last comment about the weather.
Quidditch. She loved talking about quidditch. She could talk for hours about it. She couldn't help but giggle at Lucas when he put his had up and swore he would be there. She tried to get serious and said, "You better! Or you may force my hand!" Her terrible poker face didn't hold for long though and a smile appeared along with a giggle. "I can't wait till the match. We will win for sure. i can feel it." She told him in all seriousness.

Lucas laughed and nodded.
"I'm pretty sure we will, too. I mean, I don't even think the Slytherpuff team has even had a single practice. Must be really lazy or really confident."
He smiled a bit and watched sheepishly as she curled up in his jacket. It was one of those, oh my gosh she touched it i'll never wash it again moments. He of course would wash it, duh, but still. Just seeing her in it kinda warmed him somehow, so he really didn't need it. The sun was starting to peak out even more so, the clouds not so whispy. It was becoming a clear, crisp day.
"You're a great seeker, by the way." He said, at last mastering not blushing whenever he complimented her or she looked at him all sweetly. He'd seriously needed to get over that sense of embarrassment and at last he had.
"You've been playing quidditch since your second year, right?" He hoped this didn't sound too creeper-ish, since he remembered her telling him a while back.
"That's awesome." He grinned. "I could barely balance on a broom at that age."

Fionna shook her head not in disagreement but just as a motion. "I know i realized that as well. Every time i go to book the quidditch pitch there is never a conflict. Don't know what is with them." She said not sure what to think about that, but it didn't matter because they were ready for anything.
A deep blush overcame Fionna's face at Lucas' words. She couldn't help it. Compliments always made her blush, but Lucas' turned her face a deep shade that otherwise wouldn't appear. "Thanks." She said finally before adding, "I played with my brothers when I was very young. I wanted to try out 1st year but there was already a seeker and I wasn't allowed a broom." The blush was starting to fade but was still very apparent.

Lucas smiled a little bit to see her blushing, again, seeing her look happy was one of the greatest joys.
"Well I'm sure you would've been a great seeker even that young." He grinned at the memory of when he first asked to ride a broom.
"Heck, when I was supposed to be going in first year here, I wasn't fit for a spot in the school, much less a broom."
CRAP! CRAP! This is why you can't get close to people! It's not you weren't fit for a spot in the school, it's your mother is a worry wart you ninny! DANGITT LUCAS WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST DO. It was true he wasn't allowed to be here yet, he wasn't well enough yet! He wasn't fit for a spot in the school, because it took him so long to recover from St. Mungos, and because he was going crazy every month at fullmoon!
Sweat was suddenly on the back of his neck and he willed himself to stay calm.
"Well, not that I wasn't fit for a place here..." He said quickly, trying to recover himself.
You idiot you stupid stupid stupid idiot you can cover for it but you can never make her forget what you said unless you used some memory charm which of course your not gonna use you like her too much oh DANGITT what have I dooooneeeee....
"...My mum just thought otherwise, you know, she's all panicky."
But he was the one who looked panicky now. The temptation to just run back up to the school and hide was overbearing....

The blush got a bit deeper as he made another compliment but it quickly disappeared as confusion took it's place. What was Lucas talking about? Not fit for school? Did he have some type of illness or mental instability. Did something tragic happen that he didn't fee; ready to interact at Hogwarts.
Fionna allowed Lucas to continue speaking as she came up with speculations in her head. Lucas seemed to be trying to explain himself, but he seemed a bit worked up about his word choice. Maybe he just didn't want Fionna thinking he had been some unstable psychological mess like one of her speculations had been. Maybe there really was another secret other than Rhi. Something that happened that caused him to be home schooled.
Fionna decided that she wouldn't push it though since Lucas seemed to be trying to cover his tracks. Fionna nodded feigning non-curiosity and said, "I get what you mean. Don't worry. We all use the wrong words sometimes." She chuckled slightly and said, "I promise i don't think you were some druggie or something like that." She chuckled again sticking to one of her first assumptions.

Lucas grinned and relaxed again. He knew she probably thought he was some nut case now, but he didn't care as long as she didn't know the truth. He wanted her to know sooo badly...but MAN was he a coward. He hated himself and cursed himself silently for not just coming out with it. He'd come so close every time he talked to her now...hmmm....that was true. Way too close. She was bound to know real soon if he didn't start talking to her less...his heart seemed to fail a bit but he knew he seriously couldn't stick around anymore. She'd know. And he'd be betraying his parents, the Headmaster, and then he'd lose her for good.
"Well, I'm going to go study." He sat slowly, getting up and stretching. "I'll see ya around, okay? And I'll see you at Quidditch practice!" He beamed, smiled, waved goodbye, but left in a hurry as if he just remembered an urgent appointment. He left without even remembering she was still wearing his only coat.

Fionna relaxed as Lucas did glad that he wasn't taken aback by her approach to what he had just said. Fionna just couldn't bring herself to say anything about what she had though. She had before and felt like it pushed him away. Maybe just not saying anything would allow him to be around her and be happy.
Fionna was surprised by Lucas' sudden urge to leave and go study. She was also disappointed. Maybe he had taken her statement the wrong way, but waited a few so as to not make it seem like it. She grabbed the coat she was wearing and said, "Wait don't forget your..." but it was too late he was already heading up towards the castle at a fairly fast rate. She had only partly taken the coat off, so she put it back on thinking she would give it to him next she saw him.
Fionna continued to sit outside not sure what to think. She moved to where Lucas had sat against the tree and leaned against it herself in thought.

"Thank you very much" Helen said as she took the apple. She took a bottle of caramel sauce out of her bag and poured it over the apple before biting into it - sweets were her fave! "Why don't we go ask can we use the kitchens to bake some apple pies?"

1st Year Hufflepuff~  "You're welcome," Azrael smiled as she munched on her own apple. "That sounds like a good idea if the Headmisstress doesn't mind." Azrael tucked the apples carefully into the bottom of her shirt like a pouch as they headed back inside.

"Well let's do that later maybe - I'm enjoying the fresh air." With that, the heavens opened up and it began to lash rain - Helen started dancing around in it like a pagan, revelling with nature and it's beauty. (idk - should we ask?)

1st Year Hufflepuff~ "Alright," she said as she carefully laid the apples on the ground in a neat pile then hopped back up on her broom. Azrael took in the fresh air with her eyes closed, facing the sun as she flitted a bit higher. She opened her eyes and watched owls going back and forth with messages.

Smiling, she strolled around the grounds, waiting for something to happen. Her hair blew in the small breeze.
