Well, it really depends on your hair. I mean, if you've died it a lot already, then you really can't avoid killing it when you bleach it, because it's already damaged. Also, if you straighten it daily, that damages the hair too. I say if your hair is damaged, try using Herbal Essence for dry and damaged hair for a month before trying to bleach it, because that can really fix up your hair. I know it does with mine xP
My friend bleached her hair, and she's dyed it continuously since she was like...8, and it came out really dead >> Luckily she didn't lose any xP
But it's going to take a looooong time to bleach your hair if it's dark. She had black hair, and it took 5 hours to bleach it, and that was only the top xP

Well, I don't think he has dyed his hair before or at least not for a very long time. But it is pretty dark. I don't think he straightens it, just blowdries it maybe. So it's in pretty good condition, I'm just worried that it won't turn out well.
EDIT:: I would post a picture of him and his hair for opinions on dyeing it pink as opposed to orange or purple, but I think that would be creepily stalker-ish.

I'm usually the one having people dye my hair, but I've never bleached it before so I can't be of any help...

Sorry, that was all sort of off topic, it's just my friend wants to dye his hair pink, and he already reminds me vaguely of Kaoru, hair, etc.-wise except he's non-asian.
