Up until this point I had never failed a grade either. But then again, I've never been one exalted for excellent grades. I was bound to fail something some time before I got out of grade school.

Still, I don't want to make my parents pay for summer school
1.) Because I'm the one who failed
2.)Because it means no more band...ever.
3.) Because Gwinnette County is run by a bunch of gay, cheap, motha*you get it* and you have to... "HAVE TO" pay for two classes. $205 dollars each.

And this will mean less computer time for me. stare

Yeah... I wanted to take classes to get ahead and for four it was like either $250 for all or a piece. Then again I live in a s**t state too. So what can I say there. And they wouldn't even let me take classes. It's only for those that failed, they say.

eek Wow. They wouldn't do that here.

"You have Money? Go ahead. Take as many classes as you want!" rolleyes

Well, there isn't much I can do, so I'm going to bed to get ready for the next 5 finales I'm most likely going to ace. stare

All this talk of school reminds me that I'm currently hating on it like nobody's business. emo

Most states, I think, make you pay for summer school. I wouldn't necessarily think it's being cheap. They pay for folks to go to school all year long. Personally, I don't want my taxes raised to pay for folks who fail classes because that is what would happen if the district did have to pay for summer school. I pay enough taxes as it is owning a house and just being a working adult.

I fear I am the lone person who always liked school wink Still do. Yea it gets hard, but I always enjoyed learning new things.

I love school. My thing was and still is I want to graduate earlier and they stopped me by not letting me take summer school classes to get ahead. Even thought about being a history teacher but I can't stand kids. Not even teenagers most of the time. So now I've got two schools to pick from for college and that's the end of it.

School is only fun if you are learning something you want to learn about. I'm a firm believer in not paying attention in classes that won't help me in life or just plain bore me. 3nodding

Damn straight. I don't give a s**t about quadratic equations and all that bs. And next time I look at a flagpole I'm not even going to remotely consider calculating its height by the length of the shadow, or however the hell you do that stupid little thing.

I don't necessarily love school, but I do love learning about what I love . . . if that made any sense.

Avenger you should just teach at a community college or something. It's like way laid back and most of the people there want to be there, so they aren't completely inept. Or you could be all hardcore and teach at a Uni.

I could, it's still on my list, I mean I do have two years to really decide but I know what I'd like to be if my physical strength is enough. And everyone here would probably laugh if I said what I wanted to do. But... *shrugs* I don't care.

And on the side point, I hate math. I can't do geometry. I like algebra only because I was good at it. And algebra two honors is looking me down the throat for next year. Ack, well so is chemistry honors and I hate science. I love history and English. I'm better at history then anything else and English is up there with it too.

I loved school. I excelled through grade school. Im going to teach High School... hopefully in a couple of years...
College is kicking my a**. Partly due to I have to drive myself to school, and partly because I suck at math ^^; I just can't get anything to click.

If I was a believer in pay attention to what I enjoyed... I would be so screwed...

I never even thought about people paying for summer school. I took summer classes before my senior year and I didn't have to pay anything. And you would think in Florida you would have to pay, since it was a big state, lots of people etc...

Community college being laid back? Since when!!!!

Yeesh, i had a harder time in community college classes than I did in either of the Universities i went to smile It might have just been my work ethic the first two years.

Oh, I agree that of course you like to learn the classes you enjoy more, but I find that we should still be exposed to things we don't like so we're not living under a rock in this country. (We're behind enough in education in comparison to other major powers around the world)

I hated Pre-calc and biology. I enjoyed History and the Arts more. Chemistry and Astronomy were the only sciences i truly enjoyed.

I dread the day when I'm out of school, because I know what awaits me on the other end. I enjoy school. But it's the fact that logic does not translate to a good grade that kills me. That and teachers who have absolutely no faith in your academic skills what so ever. Meh, but I'm over it now. So I'll stop whining.

Guess who experienced fainting for the first time in their life? *Throws up hand*

I stopped by my class this morning to see my final grade. *random drum roll*

I got a 70. Not the greatest score but considering the fact that to get that grade I would have needed like an 80 to pass, I 'm quite proud of myself. But I digress.

I didn't think it was actually possible to pass out from pure shock!

Congratulations on the mark smile 70 isn't too shabby seeing what you had to go through to get it. My political rant: I can't stand the No Child Left Behind thing and I hope it's repealed... I think it's made the education system worse because teachers are only concerned about teaching what is on the test because they have to pass it.... you miss a lot of life skills.

Oh no. We have a wonderful education system . . . and that is why I want to go to grad school somewhere else. Did you know that NCLB allows he army to get contact information for students from the schools? How does that help education? Rawrs. Politics.
