Lycoris sat in her chair in the band room, set down her Bass Clarinet case and took out one of the thick reeds. She put it in her mouth and began to moisten it with her saliva as she put together her instrument.
((Wow, I never knew describing how to put your instrument together could sound so wrong xD))

Lycoris looked at Nick for a moment, then pulled her warm-up sheet music out of her bag. Her memory was almost photographic so she didn't really need it, but she set it on her stand anyway.
"Where is the director?" she asked as she put her neck strap on over her head and clipped it to her instrument. "I would like to know what piece we will be playing for the next performance."

Then she sighed and lifted her Bass Clarinet from her lap. She realized Nick was still standing there.
