Patience had held up to it's fame, revealing the perfect chance for the cloaked unit to strike. The guarding units were somewhat busy with the man who'd moved towards the barrier, this offered the unit a chance to fire without too high a chance of danger. The guarding units and the builders alike would be the target of the shot, though the biological aspects of the other might still allow for the weapon to do severe damage.

Raising the rifle to it's shoulder, the 8ft tall unit remained hidden, a slight faroff distortion to the air like shimmering waves of heat rising off fresh asphalt. Aiming with calculated precision, the scope of the canister rifle only barely a boon to the unit's accuracy. Twin barrels aligned themselves with the target, the first of the two canisters priming itself for impact detonation. The second primed itself on a timer, the countdown of which coincided with the distance in regards to the velocity. Not quite that of a bullet of course, but enough that it would be hard to catch onto in time.

A gentle 'punct!' sound rang out as the weapon fired, the first shot being followed by the second as the two canisters were loosed upon the droids amassed there. The first would strike considerably long before the second, acting much like the fashion of a grenade launcher. A small explosion would rock the earth about the barrier, though the main intent of the canister was to let loose the fragments stacked within it at extreme speeds. They would lash out in every direction, barbed needles tearing their way through flesh and metal alike with ease. Tank plating would of course stop them, as they would simply gouge the thick plates, but much anything less would be punctured.

That was of course the point. Though the gauss-rifle like rounds were capable of destroying a creature in their own right, they were designed primarily to break the skin of the droid or the living creature. The second canister which hit in the wake of the first even as the dust settled burst to let loose a black swarm of glimmering tiny little robots. Much larger than the nanobots they'd been fashioned after, these flea-sized robots would act in a similar manner. A basic colony function was built into them even as the cloud spread towards the damaged bots, to ravage them as locust would a fresh crop. They would claw and dig their way into the inner workings, nestling and festering in any of the 'wounds' they could find.

Even as they did so, their consumption would begin. Each little 'bite' of materials would fuel their inner working to create prodginy. The core aspects of each piece of 'food' would in turn be incorporated into the basics of the next drone, even as those continued the viral process. Biological creatures being eaten would in turn cause for drones much alike KB's original virus to emerge, that which essentially used colonizing cybernetic cells to infuse a vampire's undead bloodstream and transform them on a cellular level into fully functional cyborgs.

On a body not meant for such nerve-wracking change, such as a living body, chances were the specimen would simply die. Very few had the strength to withstand having their insides turned into metal and to have their veins burst from the inside out with lines of wires and gears. Those few that did were usually hideously marred pyschologically as the virus ran up the bloodstream to dominate the heart, ravaging it before moving directly to the base of the brain where it meets the spine.

For the droids the process would be similar, though instead of trying to actively take over the body, they seemed to just try to devour it inside out. Internal defenses such as electrical charges would possibly defuse at least a few of the insectoid drones, but as they consumed the inner workings they would incorporate those basic forms into their own and quickly gain a strong resistance to such effects.

The Unit decloaked from the power of the canister rifle, tossing the weapon down to it's side without care. Still enshrouded in the black cloak from before, the claws on it's mechanical feet gently dug into the wartorn soil. It knew exactly what the Citadel hid within it, and it wanted a taste-test.

*A street light several meters away from Yuri would flicker for a moment, it probably needed re-wiring. The air temperature was at a constant now, Yuri still seemed to be left to his thoughts. There were several buildings aroung, all casting shadows in one direction or another. As a vampire Yuri would likely learn to live and hunt with these shadows, they'd eventually be a great aide. It seemed practically soundless where Yuri was. When not with the others, so far away, you could really feel the city and how abandoned it really was, all those buildings and so few people, it was kind of haunting...*

Yuri would blink slowly as the silence began to creep up on him, the voice in the back of his mind fading as he refocused on his surroundings. It was strange, being in this place with no people. He felt almost lonely, though he had no memories of being with anyone else before. He couldn't help it. He sighed softly, closing his eyes momentarily as he struggled to relax. He just wanted to be at peace for a moment....

Voustant turned as he hurd a sound comming from behind him. He turn just as the the flying shot exploded infront of him. He wiped his blade to the front of him and darted towards the barriers top. Trying to dodge each and little beed was imposable. The beeds impacted the skin making welts and some ripping into the skin. As he was just over the top of the barrier he could see another shot that must have been shot right after the first. He slashed at the canister hiting it back to the ground were it was comming from. Still being hit by the small beeds he starts screaming.

"Awwwwwwwwwwww. What the heck is happening to me."

His eyes started to glow dark red as the blade he carriers shimmered a bright light. The light seeped back into the blade and with tremendus force shot outward shooting the beeds into every other direction that had ripped into his skin. After a few seconds had past the bright light sub sided and Voustant could be seen falling from the sky. His cloths were all ripped to pieces from the beeds hitting him and from the power that blade shot out.

"How did I do that" in a soft voice he said. "That must have been the hidden power my father told me about."

Still free falling towards the domes top at a slow speed with the cloth flapping in the wind.

*A wall on the side of a building several meters away would begin to seem.... fuzzy. Not as in actual fuzz persee but the kind of look you'd get if the cable went out on your TV. That staticy look, but in black and blue rather than white and black. The difference was harder to tell when there was no opposing color such as white. There was no sound, and no great deal of movement, not fast movement anyhow. If Yuri looked up and over to the building, it would seem the shadows simply looked a little darker there*

Yuri wouldn't even notice the shadow as he looked up at the sky once more, wondering at what he should do next. "It's strange... being alone....." he murmured softly to himself, as he tried to peer through the dome's top so he could see the stars....

*Yuri would likely be able to see a few stars; the barrier afterall you could see through from inside. The strange blue and black mass would shortly begin to push away from the wall, disappearing like boiling droplets of water, and it seemed that it had been moving in Yuri's direction. The air seemed slightly warm again, as if there was a buzz almost but it was still dead silent. It was the perfect scene for somrthing big an scary to pop out from around the corner of a building with a chain saw....... well, if you'd watched too many bad B movies maybe... But really, it was almost a little spooky, too quiet*

A small smile of comfort would come to Yuri as he looked up at the stars. Something about them made it so he didn't feel quite as alone anymore. Giving off another soft sigh he would sit up and look at the ground as he returned to thinking once more, wondering if he should head back to Tyrsais....

*It was a good thing Yuri was now of the undead, or else he might have a heart attack. A sudden thunderous sound would break the dead silence, it sounded like bongo drums, and they were so close and loud. The air hummed violently with the sound, it surrounded Yuri from all sides. If Yuri looked around however there would appear to be... well... nothing. Where was this sound coming from? Why did it seem to localized? Why now? Why him? Who, what, where? After twelve seconds of loud drumming, it would suddenly become eerily silent again. Just what in the world...?*

Yuri would blink and look around quickly as he tried to figure out what was going on. The pulsing seemed to grow louder and louder as the darkness enveloped everything. Until suddenly, it stopped just as quickly as it had started. Leaving Yuri sitting there staring into space for a moment with a dazed expression. But, there was something else as well. A trace... of presence. "Who's there?" came the strangely soft voice of Yuri as he tried to discern what was happening from the shadows. Oddly, he seemed less afraid than curious. After all, this was only the second monster he had met today.....

*It seemed as if the shadows were out to mock Yuri, they would not answer him and all would remain silent. However, directly above Yuri, perhaps ten feet away at best, was a huge yellow and red eye. It was huge, a meter spanning all the way across at least, a half sphere hovering over head in dead silence. The eye was mostly yellow, the red bits were several circle shapes near the center of the said eye. They would move slightly, turning a little as if focusing and unfocusing on Yuri. Aside from that huge thing there was nothing*

Yuri would blink, noticing that he was suddenly sitting in the midst of a strange shadow. Looking up, his eyes would widen slightly in disbelief as he looked up at the monstrous eye. He would sit that way for several moments before taking a deep breath to steady himself and letting it out as a sigh. Rather than run, he actually seemed to relax, his body sagging against the wall. "Are you a monster too?" he asked softly, once again questioning the silence as he sat there. If the eye meant to attack him, he was completely vulnerable....

*Luckily for Yuri, the creature seemed to be gentle. The eye would continue to focus and unfocus for a minute or so. Yuri wasn't doing much, so neither was the creature. Though this was their first meeting is was likely not going to be their last. One thing Yuri might notice was that this eye... did not blink. Well, that was... interesting? Tyrsais had also met this creature, several times in fact, and each time he would try to attack it. Yuri could probably learn a little more about it from Tyrsais, though he didn't really know much more about it other than the fact that it was there, could make sound, could meld with shadows, and seemed to show up at random*

???: ........?

Yuri would blink as the eye would seem to do nothing for a few minutes, merely observing him for the time being. And in that time, Yuri began to become accustomed to the odd creature, actually managing a small smile. "Tell me, are you lonely?" he asked softly, trying to understand how this creature must feel. Somehow, Yuri seemed to be relating to this... thing, in a way.....
