Rosette peeked around Chrono's shoulder a bit, showing only one blood-dho blue eye to him. She really didn't want to let go since he was the only protection she could afford at the moment.

Meanwhile, thanks to her extensive knowledge of the building, Satella was already a good ways under ground. Whatever Von had done to her had left her tired, but she was feeling well enough to fight now if need be. There was no telling what had congealed in the place in secret since the last time she or the others had been here.

There were marking on the stone walls she observed, some were rather fresh looking. It could only mean one thing.

Someone, hopefully even a group, was still alive...

Loque gave her a small encouraging smile and kept his hand rested on her shoulder. "Now just look at me, and at nothing else. Just look at my eyes, okay? There is a power within you, Rosette, you are a gifted person. You can use this to protect youself, you just need to consentrate on it and get the energy to go to the right place and do the right thing. It's fairly easy once you've done it.

"Now think of a time where you were truly happy. Can you see a color there? If you can't see a color then can you associate a sound with it? Can you hear it? Keep hold of that color, or keep hold of that sound. Now use it to surround yourself, imagine it covering you completely, use that everygry to block out everything. Keep it going and hold it there . . ."

He paused a moment to let Rosette hopefuly try and do what he was telling her. It would make her feel much better if she would just relax and fight off the negativity with pure thought.

Rosette shut her eyes, digging rapidly through her beain for a fond memory. When she did, she latched onto it like a leech and tried her best to draw from it. It worked a little to say the least.

"I feel... better..." She said quietly. Chrono was relieved to hear her voice now.

Satella had only just walked a few steps down a stairs case when something shiny caught her eye. Wordlessly, she pursued the matter closely, anything that could be a sign of life here was worth examining.

The glimmer lead her down a very dark hall, the tiny light form her lamp was her only way to see, and even it was a rather faint light,

Finally, she came across the source of the odd reflection. It was a piece of jewelry, it seemed. An ornate cross that seemed to have a snake coiled around it. The shine had come from the cross's glossy surface and the snake's ruby eyes. It looked rather clean to have been lying around for several years.

Satella bent down to pick it up, when suddenly the floor gave way beneath her feet.

She tumbled several yards down, bumping against a slick surface as the lamp slipped from her grip. Thankfully, the fall was a short one and the lamp was unbroken, she could continue.

Satella sat up and brushed herself off quickly before gathering up her lap. She'd heard and odd, scratching sort of noise and was immediately drawn to a tighter gaurd.

"Is someone there?" She demanded, "Show yourself!"

She could see an odd shape nearby, and approached it cautiously. To her disgust, insecets, scattered from what she'd seen: a corpse. Satella held up her free hand to keep any bugs from getting in her mouth or nose.

"No... was this our only survivor...?" She murmured sadly,"All of his energy has been sucked out...but by what...?"

"...The Holy Cross..." croaked a voice behind her, "absorbs and collects all forms of energy..."

Satella jumped back several yards from the voice's owner, and was stunned to see a woman she once knew. It was Emma, a girl whod come to the Order after her late husband was killed in a failed summoning. She wanted to try and use her knowledge of the arcane to help the order... Satella knew little beyond that. She was always very busy before with the order, and hardly knew faces as Rosette had done.

"Welcome, I haven't had guest in a long time." Said the pale woman. Her clothes were rather scanty and somewhat ornate, but the hems were torn from prolonged use and her feet were black from never eing washed, "I am pleased to see you."

Emma had once been a beautiful girl, but now she was but a shell of her former lovely self.

"I'd rather not use violence against another human." Satella warned, dropping the lamp and aiming her jewel at Emma, "Just give up."

"How kind..." Emma said, with her arms crossed smugly, "But futile..."

A symbol began to burn the earth benetah Satella feet. The same symbol that was the peice of jewelry shed found before. The very same piece Emma now wore around her neck.

"Laden!"Satella exclaimed, but nothing happened, "What...? The stones...?"

Satella breath was suddenly squeezed form her chest as something coiled around her, a ghastly, glowing snake that Emma had somehow called. Satella's strength was already fleeting, and it took little effort from the snake to render her unconcious. Emma smile more as the proud summoner fell. She would have a proper sacrifice tonight...

The torches were going out now in the chamber, the fires consuming the fuel that had let them burn. Darkness was closing in on the room, this chamber, a place that had once held hope and reason was now being plunged into darkness. Gefton let the shadows take him and soon he was lost from sight as he walked silently, deeper and deeper into the shadows until he melded with them completely.

"Well, I'm glad someone approved of my methods." Laughed Algren as he began to walk towards the double doors that were the entrance to this room. "However, if I'm going to make any more impressions, best I remove the blood from myself." Algren bowed his head to Bane and then slowly made his ways down the dimly lit hall. his footfalls echoing and growing dimmer as he walked away.

Von looked at his master with both a mixture of fear and wonderment. Von had watched his master take on one of the most powerful creatures the Elder Ones had ever created as easily if the beast had been a tamed mouse. Melecus had simply bound the beast and now that titanic beast was housed in a the black, onyx orb that Melecus clenched tightly in his long, bony fingures.

"So that's it then? The Halex is in that tiny orb?"

"Of course." Came Melecus' calm whisper, his eyes looking the orb over. "The Halex's are nothing more than hungry, ravaging animals. they have no real brains and even I cannot control them and bend them to my will. But." Melecus tossed the sphere around in his bony palms for a moment. "i can put these things in cages until I deem it appropriate to unleash them upon any victims I desire." Melecus stopped tossing the ball around and open a satchel at his side, in which he delicately placed the onyx orb. "The Halex will sleep. Now Von, I've just held council with an old" Melecus paused, searching for the correct word. "Associate. And frankly, I've come away from this meeting, displeased. I have matters in the north i must return to, so i'm telling you this now. I want that Messiah refound. Find her and stay near her and if anything arises that might cause us problems, kill her!" Von nodded and bowed his head.

"It shall be done, master."

"Good, i would hate to think you were loosing your touch Von." And with that, Melecus faded into smoke, and then was gone. Von stood still for a moment and then sniffed the air. He sniffed for a long time and smelt nothing. He growled as he raised his left hand and bit hard into his palm, the blood bubbling through the corpal layer of flesh. Von sniffed the blood and then sniffed the air and this time, Von smelt what he had sought. the green hair man began to shiver, the wind tossing his cloak about for a moment before the wind began to toss around the black fur a huge wolf. the red eyes narrowed and the lupine form sprung forward, the paws leaving to tracks as it fled onward. the journey would be long, the scent was faint, but find the messiah Von would, make no mistake.

In the dark cold of night, Therto was alone, locked in his prison of ice and stone. The Elder One, felt another wrystone come to life and already, Therto was there, reawakening the dead, making them his puppets. Three stones awake now and Therto's power was growing. Already, Therto had sent undead minions into the ruins of Melecu's old palace. In the basements of the dark palace the forges of war that had slept for millenia burned again. The mountains echoed as dead hands made metal swords and crafted thick chain mail. Thuds were heard as engines of war were constructed and screams as darker things came into existence. The cold winds howled as snow fell from the heavens. The north itself was coming alive. Wolves began to gather at the base of Therto's prison, and one by one these beasts let Therto slay them and take their ferral forms.
The army of Darkness was amassing once more and now that Therto's power was so extended, the Lord of the Dead, sent out his mind to the winds, searching for a host to be his vessel.

Loque nodded a bit, glad he could help even in the slightest way. He wasn't sure how much relief it would provide for Rosette but it would have to do. Turning to Blaise he touched her shoulder. She opened her eyes and looked to him.

"You might want to try it as well." he suggested.

She waved him away impatiently, "Yeah, I'll try, but when I don't feel like I'm going to lose the contents of my stomach."

"I'm glad you're both feeling better. But why do you both feel so bad about being here and the rest of us don't? I don't understand at all..." Azmaria asked.

"Its about your nature, Az. I think your powers help drive the angry spirits of this place away from you, but their anger was focused on Rosette, that's why she reacts like this. And for Blaise, she's sensitive to them and doesn;t know how to block it, so she feels their anger as well."

"You mean-"

"The people who died here... They're angry with Rosette. Probably myself as well, but they can't do much to a demon..."

Blaise was quiet as Kaden held her close. He didn't understand why he couldn't feel them either. Booker didn't seem to have much of a problem either, but he'd jump every once in a while. He probably wasn't at all sensitive, feeling the odd pinprick every so often as any normal person would. But Kaden hadn't felt anything at all.

Rosette's reaction was explainable, most of the hostility was directed towards her. Loque could do an everygy block but Blaise had never really devoted herself to something like that. She was very keen to the energies of the earth, spirits came with it. This situation couldn't have been predicted so she never thought of any time she might need to stop the energy.

Blaise, resenting the tortures on her body, looked around dazedly. "Where did Satella go?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:25 pm

"She woke up after Rosette yelled. She went to go look around the place. There isn't much that would stop her when she sets her mind on it, I;m sure she'll be alright.

But nothing was ever that easy for this lot, was it...?

Satella awoke to the sound of Emma chating in a low voice before a metallic chair surrounded and topped with flaming torches. The same strange crosses lined the walls of the room. Satella tried t ove, and found her hands were chained togeher and to the wall behind her. A pair of real, live snakes curled around them placidly.

"Nothing will come of this! Satella began suddenly, but Emma continued, " Why don't you say somethig? Drawing people in and killing them... Why don't you ipen your eyes!"

Emma stooped chanting and threw some knd of powder at the torches. They flared intensely for a moment.

" You would understand if yo met him. He's amazing. Only he recognized my value. He is everything to me! He shall be happy about your powers. You should be proud." Emma replied soothly.

"I will never serve a demon!" Satella snarled. But that snarled turned into a gasp as Emma stepped towards her, a sword in her hands.

"Now... give up your life!"

Blaise's stomach seemed to settle a bit, though not much. The nagging need to vomit had ceased, that much was better. At the moment she was consentrating on energy conservation and trying to pull off Loque's energy block. She'd managed to do it a little and it offered some relief but it wasn't very strong. It would become more fortified with practice and more use.

Rubbing her eyes she looked around and saw Booker jump and put his hands on his head.

"You alright, Booker?" she asked.

He looked to her seeming a little nervous and agitated. "They keep pulling my hair." he said plainly. Loque couldn't help but smile a bit. The elder elf crept up behind him a bit and tugged on a lock of Bookers hair. He gave a shout and turned around to see Loque snickering. He gave him a punch on the shoulder and scowled.

Blaise grinned a bit, happy that at least one or two of them could keep in good spirits. Even if it was at another's expense. She kept an eye on Kaden for a little while but didn't see him take notice to what spirits were around them.

"Hey Kaden, you feel that?" she asked.

He turned to her with a quizzical look. "Feel what?"

"You don't feel anything?" she questioned further.

"Eh . . . no . . .? Haven't felt anything since we've gotten here." He answered. Blaise furrowed her brow in thought. He, besides Azmaria and Chrono, was one of the only ones who hadn't felt anything. Strange.

"Really?" Chrono asked,"That's odd, I don't..."

Chrono paused as strange look of understanding came over his his face.

----

Satella gasped as she heard the clang of the metal sword hit stone. The head of one of the snakes around her was stabbed right at the point.

"How pitiful you are." Emma said, taking the sword and tugging the snake off it, "You don't understand my joy, but of course... in the end I am the only one who can serve him. Only me. Everything is according to his wishes.

Emma took the snake of the point and ran it along Satella's cheek, smearing blood on it. She turned and walked away. She then began to draw a pattern on the ground with the snake's blood. She looked happy and excited.

"How foolish..." Satella murmured. WHat had happened to Emma?

"Now please! Grace up with your presence!" Emma declared, holding up he dead body of the snake. All the torches in the room began to glow with a blue light.

----

Chrono's thoughts were torn to other things as blue lights began to dimly shine from the halls around them. He could see more through the gaps in the walls.

"What is this?" HE asked, looking around.

Blaise gave Chrono a quizzical look then noticed the soft blue glow. She felt like asking the smae question Chrono had. Looking to everyone else she saw the same look of confusion on their faces. What was going on. A thought struck her and she looked to Chrono.

"Satella . . ." she said, "Could that be her?"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 12, 2007 8:42 pm

"No... " Chrono said looking around, "Satella! SATELLA!"

He continued to shout the jewel Summoner's name, but to no avail, she was too far to hear them and vice versa now.

"I don't like this, we need to go fid her!" Chrono, standing up with Rosette, "Rosette! Come on, I need you! We need to find Satella!"

"Satella...?" Rosette repeated.

"Come on!"

"AH! Right, right! Let's go! Blaise, keep Az near you for right now, Loque, come with us. The rest of you go this way, and well take another route. Find Satella!"

---

"That would be the best idea..." Bane said, departing down the oppsite way of the hall as Algren went to bathe.

"Sir-"

"I know Viede, move as quickly as you can. Get the others ready, we must go and greet my little follower. Make sure that Anna does not follow. Her surprise is for later."

Bane seemed almost gleeful as he entered his room. Fiore and Jacob were waiting patiently.

"Sir, is it time?"

Bane took note that she and Jacob were both already dressed to go.

"Yes, as son as the others come we will depart...."

Viede arrived shortly after with a tall woman with silky black hair. She looked very sour, and wore an oddly poofy dress skirt.

"Everyone ready...?" Bane asked, "You all must find the girl, I will see to Miss Emma myself..."

"Now please! Grace up with your presence!"

The fires soon died, revealing a handsome man sitting cross legged on the ornate chair Emma had prepared. He sat with his chin cupped in one of his hands, the loose strand of pearl white hair wafted dramatically.

"M'Lord..." Emma whispered, blushing avidly at him.

"I must say, this is a pretty good view..." He replied, looking at both lovely females before him. Satella knew the name of this horror. He'd heard words of hatred about him from none other than kind-hearted Chrono, he was...

"Sinner... Aion!"

"Oh? I'm flattered you remember me Jewel Witch." Aion said with a smirk.

"You... know her?" Emma asked nervously. She wanted not the slimmest chance of upsetting her master.

"In a matter of speaking, she is one of those.... 'old acquaintances'..."

"I do not associate with dmeons like you!" Satella spat," You disgust me-!"

No sooner did the words leave her mouth did Emma wrap her hands angrily around her throat.

"How dare you say that? You're only a sacrifice! A petty being like you does not even have the right to utter his name! KNOW YOUR PLACE!"

And while their master appeared to the two woman, the rest of the five, Jacob, Fiore, Viede, and the woman, had appeared in another part of the building. Fortunately, they were far from Chrono and the others.

Kaden jumped to his feet and hauled Blaise up with him, holding her steady as she was still uneasy on her feet. Booker stepped with them and Loque with Chrono and Rosette.

"Azmaria, come with us." Blaise said firmly, her voice stronger than she felt. "We must go quickly. This way."

She began walking off in one direction with Kaden and Booker close, in expectation that Chrono and Rosette would go in the other.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 13, 2007 4:21 am

"You can stop now." Aion said calmly.

Emma released Satella and whirled around, looking at him fearfully.

"Lord Aion? Forgive me, please! I'm so sorry! Even though I didn't know, I chose and aquaintance of yours for the sacrifice!" Emma said, bowing to him on her knees.

"You did it to entertain me, didn't you?"

"...Y-Yes! Of course! I am yours, LOrd Aion; body and sul. Never a day has passed without me thinking of you, Lord Ai-!"

Aion sudden put his arm around Emma's wiast and pulled her to her feet. With the other hand, he held her chon as he kissed her. Emma's cheeks turned a delicate shade of pink.

"You offered a pretty interesting sacrifice for me today. You are a useful woman."

"Thank you."

"I didn't think you were behind this, controlling her like that." Satella spoke up bittterly.

Kaden kept on full alert, watching for any sign of Satella. Blaise would stumble every so often and Kaden would help her along. Booker seemed to keep strangely close to Azmaria, in a protective way. But if she were to look at him he would blush and avert his eyes. Kaden supposed the boy couldn't have been any more obvious, no matter what Azmaria thought.

Blaise wasn't as sharp as usual, her senses dulled by all the different and hostile energies around them. But she did catch one thing. A slight glint of light reflected off of something in a room to which the door was hanging ajar. She walked over to it cautiously, tipping it with her finger. The door fell completely off it's hinges with a loud crash.

Kaden winced at the noise and Blaise looked back to him with a shrug. Stepping in around the fallen door she saw what this room was. It was a weaponry closet. There wasn't much she recognized and a few things had been taken as they had been used.

"What is all this?" she asked in a whisper.
