*Drools* French Horn sticky eek I've been playing the Horn for 3 years and I LOVE it! I just started marching Mello this year (my freshman year) and I LOVE my section xD. I have to admit though, this instrument brings in the weirdest people. My section is known for their pwnsomness but also their bada-- attitude and acts of rebellion against our directors and the general rules. The French Horn is the BEST instrument out there, I have to admit. Demonic Healer DumbaDociousDodeyHead Demonic Healer I'm a French Horn player. They rock but the are heavy as hell. But that's alright. At my school French Horn is like a forgotten instrument. Only 3 people play the F horn at my school. 2 in 6th and 1 in 7th. The band director hates French Horns so he ignores us players and just helps everyone else. D = He is very evil I tell you. = o How can a Band Director HATE a french horn? Impossible!! My Band Director worships us. = o I want your band director. *Gasp* We have one director who loves us because he started on the French Horn and one who loves the trumpets and one who loves the woodwinds because they started on those instruments. The funny thing is, that the one that loves the FH yells at the trumpets the most and the one who loves the trumpets yells at us the most xD But the one who yells at us doesn't have too much to complain about because we're better than most of the band. (Ok...so I might be bragging a /bit/)

Hay! I play French Horn/Mellophone! But seeing as I am a freshmen and the other three people in my section are seniors...im 4th chair! Makes me mad! Director even tried out for chairs, but he dident feel like moving anyone!
Drring marching band, there were only 2 mellophones tho! Our girl was a majorette and one of the other guys was a drum major!
(I know I spelled alot of things wrong...)

Liquid_Lullaby Hay! I play French Horn/Mellophone! But seeing as I am a freshmen and the other three people in my section are seniors...im 4th chair! Makes me mad! Director even tried out for chairs, but he dident feel like moving anyone! Drring marching band, there were only 2 mellophones tho! Our girl was a majorette and one of the other guys was a drum major! (I know I spelled alot of things wrong...) lol

I play the F Horn (Middle School), and i think it's a great instrement 3nodding even tho it can be a pain in the but to carry almost anywhere in it's case, ive played it for two years.
Except i have to sit next to the saxophones because im 2nd chair ( only 2 Horn's in our section ) and they annoy the crap out of me sometimes. They try to flirt with me to xd i find it kinda silly.
We went to Festival recently and got an Excellent ^^ i was scared that we might get get a Good, lol, Such dramatic tension.

at my high school i played the french horn and the mello phone, i must admit i liked the mello phone better. but the french horn has such a beautiful and rich tone to it. but when it was concert season we only have 2 french horns. and during marching season we only had 3 good mello's. I love the french horn and Mello!!!!!!!! heart
i miss marching band so much! crying

I LOVE playing the french horn, and I feel really fortunate that there are five people in my section (including myself). Although it's really sad because I think I'm the only one that actually chose to play the french horn.

I love the horn! heart I picked it up my junior year of high school and now am thinking about majoring in horn performance along with music ed =]
Btw, we're not called 'french' anymore haha People around here get pissed if we get called french horns. Like in symphonic band, our director will occasionally let the french slip and we'll just sit there and stare at him XD And then he's like "Oh sorry, my bad horns!"

I love the french horn!!! But I only started months ago and I sound terrible. sad I get frustrated with just hitting a C (High, not low). Man, there's only like I think 4 french horns in my school. eek My teacher said that french horn players are at the top of his list, 'cause apprently it's the hardest instrument our band offers. Hey, any experienced hornists who have advice, feel free to PM me. I'd love some advice to get better! And I know the whole "Practice makes perfect." thing, already. Lol! FRENCH HORNS ARE THE BOMB!!! rofl
