Vintrict I was once nice. You knew this. It's true. You were downright pleasant to be around and had a lot of friends. Somewhere, bitterness sprouted. It could be because you changed your opinion on things, it could be because other people changed their priorities, or it could just be that one bad reaction burned a number of people and it just got worse from there as meltdowns begat meltdowns begat meltdowns. The only real way to get along with people is to want to get along with them. Unfortunately, it's hard at this point because the people that you've had conflicts with and spit venom at tend to not believe you're being sincere anymore when you do say things that aren't "oh, that Vintrict is at it again". Coming back from being a social outcast is a rough road, but not impossible. There are a number of people that love to see you having fun with the group again, rather than trying to have fun by putting other people down.

I doubt there's people out there that considered me fun to begin with. Unless I was Yusuke, I was downright insulted or detested, even in rp. That's only one part of my bitterness came from. It comes from a whole waterfall of reasons, but at this point, I don't even know anymore what started what. Maybe I am being angry at something that no longer exists. Life isn't as fair as for me to see what it truly was. I guess in the end, it's all about the now rather than the past and the history behind things.

Whatever's gonna be... is gonna be.
I only knew you as Yusuke until you started playing Chen, and somewhere in that mix of Donnie Yen supercop (am I saying the right guy here?) it seemed like the OOC chatter all turned into "I am the law, I can do whatever I want and nobody can stop me!" which I think was what caused a lot of arguments, which made for a lot of sore anuses one way or another.
Let's not mince words on it, you do go pretty quickly to personal attacks on people once you get into an argument with them so that has probably been where a couple of bridges were burned. Matt and Dana stuck up for you for years until they just couldn't put up with it any more.
I'm gonna stop now or it'll just end up sounding like "you're a big fat jerk" which is not what I'm trying to say. It's just that (and this is not that uncommon of a thing, really) you're prone to the "blood in the water" reaction of an argument starting and then immediately transitioning into going after what you think will hurt the most to say to someone; and that makes people want to keep their distance.

Dude, just call me a big jerk. Like I said before, I can take the heat better than others. I just tend to dish it back because I assume if someone can say the words, they can take the same thing. But some people in this community have weak backs, yet silver tongues. They say whatever they want, but when they hear the same thing, they yap back in defense.
I've already accepted once this tournament is over for me, I'm going to have nothing to rp for a while cause of all these problems. It's a little sad, but I made my bed, so I have to sleep in it. No regrets, is my motto.
It's a pretty stupid motto.

Just finished reading Ertai vs Stefania. It's only gotten one exchange in so far (the remainder of the posts have been posturing) so I can't give any sort of read onto how it is "going"... but at least with the tone and content of the posts it seems like they are playing into each other's narrative well enough.
Kaori is trying to portray her character as an overly sexualized meek female, and attempting to goad her opponent into overconfidence and desire to get all up in her goods.
Ertai is trying to portray his character as an overconfident megalomaniac who looks upon all others as lesser beings that he can do as he pleases with.
They have a good back-and-forth going in that regard.
I was a little worried when I started reading of where it was going to go, especially after I'd read in the OOC that Ertai was questioning the validity of pheromone attacks on a character that is hardly a creature of flesh-and-blood to begin with. However I see that he took the opportunity to twist the narrative in that direction and ran with it, and the read is more enjoyable due to that.
