Always lived my life, up to it's fullest. I've never had the chance to look back Just being myself, just being me, not trying to be what I lack. Caiden Alexander Fourth year Gryffindor Caiden was puzzeled. His father most definitely was not week, and he was a dark arts professor. He taught both the defense against and the actual dark arts. He taught both sides, and Caiden never saw the harm in any of that. "Professor, I'm a bit lost. There are some dark spells that take a tremendous amount of strenght, which my father told me he could not teach me until I was older. I feel as though your opinion is definitely biased. If certain defenses against the dark arts are difficult to cast, say, like, the Patronus charm, wouldn't certain dark arts be more difficult to cast as well?" Caiden just wanted to be clear. If his father was leading him wrong, which he doubted, because he was older than this kid, he would need to know the truth. His father loved the dark arts, and maybe that could tell him something he didn't know. But, his father was also a very powerful Defense magic teacher. That was the only reason he got the job, because he was just so great at both the dark arts and the defense against them.

Alex turned her head towards Caiden "i think he's talking about mental wise, like if you did no dark arts, your mind would be, well better because you don't have to reside in powerful spells while people with the good arts have powerful spells and a powerful mind, your father must be a brilliant man to work with dark arts as i have heard that they are difficult to handle but i am sure that what i just said is what the professor meant or well similar to what i said or in my opinion is what i understood from that" Alex said smiling at Caiden

Professor Kenneth ReynoldsD.A.D.A - Head of Gryffindor - Auror
Kenneth could see the puzzled look Caiden was giving him after his remarks on what he thoughts on the Dark Arts. He would need to clarify and hopefully shine some light for this boy, before he started to make all the wrong choices. "Yes in my eyes those who clean to the Dark Arts to give them power or weak, or else they would not seek out and practice the Dark Arts. So I suppose I am biased, given what happened to me when I was younger. However while the Dark Arts do contain spells that are truly powerful, some that take great magic to cast, they come at a cost." His students needed to understand that with power such as that had it's costs. "The cost in most case's is your very soul. The soul was never meant to withstand the vile affects the Dark Arts place on it. Nearly every aspect of the Dark Art's have zero beneficial outcomes to society. You only have to look back on history to know that no Dark Wizard survives for long, in the end its the Light that will come out victorious against the Dark. No matter how hard the Dark tries, Hope Springs Eternal, the Light will always shine though in the end."

Meiko smiled to herself after hearing professor Reynolds statement. She mutters to herself as she was still writing in her notebook. "Light and dark need each other to balance the world, but if darkness wants to take over, light will always make sure that it won't lose."

Professor Kenneth ReynoldsD.A.D.A - Head of Gryffindor - Auror
"Because though out recorded history whenever the darkness tries to rise's they may take control for a time, but If light is alive and present … it changes and defeats the darkness. It steps into the deepest darkest places and simply by being present … it shines! Every recorded Dark Wizard who tried to take over never managed to keep that power for ever, the Light stepped in and took them down. As in the case's of Gellert Grindelwald and Tom Riddle, both rose to power, using the Darkness to seize that power where both defeated by the light Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter."

Harmony Trumarie...
Dark Magic. It was brought up. Harmony withheld a small sigh, and kept her face passive. Despite being sheltered for most of her life, and kept away from Durmstrang's reach, she had a small glimpse of its power... It made her sick to say the least. The girl pursed her lips slightly, and then ignored the conversation all together. Ideals, they were clashing right now, she had her own already... Her thoughts and opinions. No need to listen, right?
Eventually...the brunette's attention flickered back to the conversation/debate out of pure boredom (she couldn't think of anything to mentally distract herself) just in time for mention of how Light and Darkness... "Poetic justice." Harmony mumured, answering vaguely to Alex's question.
Then she added in slightly dreamy but calm tone. "...In many religions stories of rebirth are mentioned...a new world is forged. Things rise up again... despite being destoyed or consumed by Chaos, like a phoenix rising from the ashes." She smiled slightly at her simile, it was very cheesy in her opinion. "Darkness is the oldest thing in the universe, and the first too... Yet Light was borne, and yet Light was not destroyed while so weak and young... Its stubborn, and because of that it lives on. Some think that trait makes it strong, and thus it'll always be there to beat it's age old foe... On a rare ocassion, and just for a second, Light is the victor, and its all there is... Just for a fleeting moment, darkness is vanquished completely." 'Of course there are times when Darkness consumes it all too..' Harmony decided to keep that thought to herself. She placed her cheek in her hand. "Sorry for my incoherent drivel, Professor Reynolds..." The girl inclinded her head in a nod, and then licked her lips. She didn't usually talk that much but sometimes these debates got her talking...

Professor Kenneth ReynoldsD.A.D.A - Head of Gryffindor - Auror
At one point in his life Kenneth would have been quite shocked that this type of answer sprang forth from the lips of a Slytherin, those times where in the past however, and Kenneth nodded his head in whole hearted agreement with what Harmony was saving. Once she finsihed her little speech Kenneth replied, "No that was not incoherent drivel, you answered Alex by far more elegantly than I did. 5 points to Slytherin for such a brilliantly worded answer." Kenneth turned his attention back to the entire class and said, "If there are no other questions on the subject of Light vs Dark, how about we move on."

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain And Seeker
Sparrow quickly tried to write down some notes. She found some of this confusing, but she understood the gist of it. She was still writing down notes when the Professor asked if there were more questions and she didn't have any so she continued on with her note taking. Good things she had a good memory or she probably would have forgotten the conversation already.

Harmony Trumarie...
Grey eyes widen slightly in surprise. She stopped herself gawking at the man. The girl simply nodded at the professor and Alex, hiding her feelings of relief at a good reception. She hadn't expected a good reaction, in fact quite the opposite.... A shout of : "What the hell, aren't you a bloody Slytherin." Was expected. Harmony was secertly a philosophical little thing - one the reasons she almost got sorted into Ravenclaw - so when it showed, it usaully wasn't recieved well... She shook her head at Professor Reynolds question. She didn't have a question.

Lena
Lena wrote down a few more notes and set down her quill on her desk. She re-read her notes as she waited for more questions to be asked or the Professor to begin teaching about another subject.

Aludra Yvette... Aludra scribbled down little notes on her parchment and sighed. Learning in your seventh year was starting to get very annoying, there was hardly anything left to learn that books could teach now. Now it was up to the real world to show her the rest of the way. In the middle of her notes she noticed that Vladimir had come and sat next to her, Merlin only knew what he wanted. She listened to his words intently, not knowing what the hell he was planning. But it involved Nettle wine... something not even her better judgement could resist. Ever since that night with Kenneth she had become addicted to it. "Sure, a drink with a friend is fine, but Kenneth will know where I'll be." She scooted a few centimeters away from Vlad and concentrated on writing down the long page of notes from the questions being asked. Aludra wished the class would be over soon. ...7th Year Slytherin

Professor Kenneth ReynoldsD.A.D.A - Head of Gryffindor - Auror
Kenneth was more than done talking about the philosophical discussions of which side is truly more powerful than the other, it was time to move on to something else. "Alight lets move on. How about we move on and talk about the Fidelius Charm. So first off does anyone what the Fidelius Charm is or does?"
