Ivan Van Veen When he heard his shower flip on, Van's warrior instincts clicked on and he started from sleep, his hands scrabbling for the small pistol he kept in a holster under his pillow. Only when it was out and pointing at the air did Van's super ego kick in and he realized that it was just Liana in the shower. He rubbed his eyes tiredly and replaced the .38 into its rightful home. He rolled out of the bed, and scratched his bare chest lightly. Van decided to start a fresh pot of coffee while he waited his turn for the shower. Another oddity. Rarely did he ever have a guest stay over long enough to need to use his shower.

Liana
Flipping her hair a little around her head to dry it better she finished and opened her door to the shower and walked out now all clean and better. Her body was still a little stiff and alert but Lia was going to keep it to herself, no need to alarm anyone.
She walked out of his bedroom seeing Van was up and saw he was over making coffee. "Sorry" she mumbled as she pulled a chair back and sat down "I know it must not be fun to wait to take a shower at your own house" she said as her elbow rested on the table as she leaned forward and her hand pushed against her forehead as she stared down at the table wishing to get rid of this annoying feeling.

Ivan Van Veen Van waved Liana's apology away and sipped at his black coffee.
"It's fine. I don't mind waiting, really."
She looked to be scrubbed red and clean and by the smell of her, she'd used his body wash and shampoo. He felt a familiar stirring in his loins, when he thought of Liana's soapy hands running over her admittedly hot body. Strange, when put into context of his sexual deviations. It's probably nothing. He took another drink from his mug, before standing, meaning to take his own shower.
"Fresh coffee in the pot; I think there's something edible in my house, if you're hungry. I'll be out in a few minutes."
No body wash or shampoo for him today; he intended to go a-hunting and those scents were...recognizable. Van stepped into his still steamy bathroom and flipped the water onto hot. He stripped out of his rumbled clothes from the night before and moved into the shower, enjoying the way the water pounded against his back. Bliss.

Liana
Liana held up her hand and pointed her thumb up giving him the thumbs up sign to show that she heard him. When he was in the shower she stood up and walked to the coffee grabbing some and taking a sip of it just black. Her fingernail tapped on the cup as she went to the one window.
Standing by in her eyes looked through the crack to see if she can see anyone outside. She was getting irritated and almost antsy it was all coming familiar now but the more curious question was who was close by. That was what was now running through her mind.
Sighing she moved away again and began to pace as she stared at nothing really in particular and kept tapping on her cup. Liana did understand one other thing that whoever was close by could be dangerous to Van and if they were she wasn't doing a good job in keeping him protected.

Ivan Van Veen Barely ten minutes later, and Van was walking back into the kitchenette, a vaguely dirty looking white towel wrapped around his waist. He rubbed his short bristly hair and stopped in the doorway, watching Liana pacing. Even without preternatural senses like Lia had, he could tell something had spooked his pet demon; he could see and recognize the signs. Immediately he began to look around the room with his eyes, looking for where he dropped his gun from the night before.
"Chto eta? Why are you pacing like a caged panther? What has gotten your hackles raised so?"

Liana
She halted to a stop when she heard Van. Her head lifted and turned to look up at him. Liana could lie to him tell him it's nothing but she was sure he wouldn't believe her since he saw her pacing, plus that it might better if he knew.
Liana set her coffee down on the counter as she breathed out "Another demon is close" she said to him, her eyes scanned his reaction "Don't get all excited either, this demon is older than me and not a weak one either"
She turned and leaned against the counter placing her hand to her forehead as she let out a groan "whenever another demon is around the others like me who have to protect someone get bad feelings and vibes because it could be potentially dangerous."

Ivan Van Veen Van raised his eyebrows at Liana, his search for his trusty pistol momentarily forgotten with the news of a demon near by. Despite Lia's warnings, he couldn't help but feel the thrill of a new, harder hunt twinge along his spin.
"You can't tell right away if it's intentions are harmful? Or is it because he hasn't decided yet to hurt me?"
There was no doubt in his mind that Van could discover a way to kill this demon, but only if he had time to prepare a killing ground. He bit his lower lip, thinking over his armory and the best potential area to lure said demon into.
"How close is the demon?"
[Colette, perhaps? Or should we just make one up?]

Liana
Liana looked over at him and saw the thoughts running through his head "Don't" she said shaking her head "I don't know if whoever it is, is actually going to harm you" she says to him "It's just a natural reaction since I'm protecting you to feel like every demon is going to harm you" she says and shrugged her shoulders.
Standing up straight "And if I see them or they approach us, don't even think about attacking them cause they won't pause to rip your head right off no matter what kind of weapon you have" Liana says "Which would suck for me cause if they succeded in killing you I would have to go back in the watch" she says pointing to it.
(I was thinking a new demon for now, I wasn't going to make them be there long. But Colette could come at another time)

Ivan Van Veen Van glanced down at his watch, his attention drawn to it with Liana's gesture. He'd forgotten he had been wearing it. How strange. He returned his mind to the problems at hand. A demon meant another person out there like him. Or does it? Another potential problem. Can they reproduce naturally? Was it possible that the demon was a...a rogue? Is that was they'd be called? Hm...
"How close is he?...she?...It?"
Van reached for his (cold) coffee, sipping at the thick brew; he made a face at the flavor. Disgusting. Still in his towel, he padded barefoot over to the sink and dumped out the mug, rinsing it quickly.
"Should we lay low for a while? Or can I work still?"
[She doesn't have to come in at all, if you don't want her too; she just came to mind, is all. ^.^]

Liana
Liana sat down for a moment "It's a he and he seems to be a little close but not too close" she said as she rubbed her eyes "He probably felt me being close enough to sense another demon and is curious, I've met him before but it was a very very long time ago" she says shaking her head as she wrinkled her nose a bit "Ugh I hate the egotistical a**" she says.
"You're fine though, you can do your work and your daily things" she says "Since your cleaned up he won't be able to tell that you're around me" she shrugs her shoulders "I'm sure I'll run into him today sometime when I go out"

Ivan Van Veen "I thought you were going to come with me today? To watch me...eh, work?"
Van shrugged. For some reason, he felt sorry that Lia wasn't tagging along. There's always next time. He replaced his now clean(ish) mug into the cabinet from whence it was spawned.
"I guess not anymore. What's this demon's name? What do you remember about him?"
He hopped silently that Liana wouldn't run into this "egotistical a**" of a demon, figuring that demons were like all the mythical creatures he'd heard about: they get stronger with age. Bad news for Lia, if they get into a tussle. Van had every confidence in Liana's abilities as a fighter. He was just betting that she wasn't good enough.

Liana
Liana sighed out looking almost bummed "Believe me I wanted to come watch you but if I'm around you when he shows up it could ruin your job for the day and reveal that your the one wearing my watch and for now I want to prolong that inevitable greeting" she told him.
Her hands tightened into fists when he asked more about him and her eyes flickered to anger "His name is Damien, he's twice as old as I am with the powers of ice on his side. He has others but has yet to reveal in front of me what they were" she told him "I hate him, no matter what almost every time I'm out he seems to find me the quickest since we're complete opposites of each other he can feel the radiance of my heat faster than he can sense other demons and I can feel his cold aura all around me" she shivers again and shakes her head.
Liana's eyes softened and looked sad when she thought of something else "He did something to me that is cruel even for a demon" she shakes her head again.

Ivan Van Veen "I can't have my marked spooked; he's already been tried on twice. The man's a ******** eel when it comes to people like me."
When he saw Liana shiver, Van almost went up to her and hugged her tightly. Almost. Some instinct carried down through his genes from his terrified ancestors stopped him, told him warning. Danger. Instead of hugging Lia, he scratched his arm. 'Damien? From his name and apparently powers, I say he resided in the Motherland for a time. If not originated there.' Now he was interested. An act distastful to a demon? He did not know that there was such a thing.
"Well, out with it. What did he do to you?"

Liana
She looked up at him she looked actually vulnerable and her eyes were incredibly sad. "Don't you have to leave soon?" she questioned him knowing he had a job to do today and her telling this story would set him back.
Knowing he would find out eventually she breathed out as she clasped her hands together. "After I was entrapped theres a specific way to undo it and we would be free again" she said "Believe it or not I actually fell in love with a human" she added staring right to him "It was in 1867 when I was protector of this one male human, I fell in love with him and I had changed my view on the world. Well I assumed I was close to getting almost free being a new kind of demon and I had made up for a lot of my sins."
Liana shook her head "It turns out bad because all the other demons who are entrapped at well do not find it fair that one could be getting free. Some came after him but Damien was the succeder he was able to kill the human and therefore send me back into my watch. After that I have forever been back to the way I was and it is foolish to do that ever again"
She was now looking down at her hands which were shaking and almost smoking with anger, it was a much longer story then that but she cut it down for him. "You don't need to feel sorry for me" she was moving her head again "I'll survive" she said letting out a chuckle but it wasn't like her normal laughs or humorous laughs.

Ivan Van VeenVan gave Liana's concerns a thoughtless wave. He'd be fine for a couple more minutes.
"Oh. I take it that your, eh, 'sin counter' resets when you're returned to the watch."
That laugh of Liana's was starting to unsettle Van. It...grated against his nerves in all the wrong way; it was full of hate and anger, with nothing to redeem it. He wanted her to stop, but she kept on with it. He turned and returned to his bedroom to change into his clothes for the day, the door closed behind him, as if it could shut out her laughter. He strapped himself into a new suit and his gun.
"I'm going now. Try not to get found out by this Damien, da?"
Van paused on his way out the door long enough to kiss Liana's forehead lightly.
"Good luck."
