"Maybe I'll look into it," Shiro decided, "if I have the time. Though maybe Storm and Starr should look into something else as well, now that they've grown to teens, they really need to start thinking of their future."

He looked down and continued his copying. "After all, they can't just sit around the house and do nothing forever."

Shiro nodded. "Perhaps you should speak to them about it," he suggested, "since you'll be seeing them much sooner than I will."

He after all was planning on staying at the castle for the remainder of their time at the island, even if most of the crew would end up staying on board the ship the entire time.

Suddenly Rhea turned to Lin and said, "Alena is going to take me to get the material we're going to need, did you want to come along or stay here?"

"I'll come with you," Earendil said quickly. "Once I start working, I won't have much of a chance to see the castle ... and the walking might help warm me up a bit."

He chuckled softly.

"While we're at it," Alena said as she began to lead the way out of the tower, "is there anything else that you need? Any more supplies for the winter? Food, water?"

Earendil thought about it a moment. He was sure that once they all had clothes for the cold weather, they would be fine, but he wasn't used to planning those sorts of things, and he wasn't entirely sure if there wouldn't be anything else.

"Perhaps some blankets?" Rhea suggested. "We can't light fires for warmth on the ship, and almost everyone sleeps alone."

"But I don't keep track of such things," Rhea added. "The only ones who would really know are Arwen and Roydon, they are after all the ones in charge, they keep a very strict eye on where everything goes and how much of everything we have left ..."

Alena nodded. "That makes sense. Perhaps I shall return with you then, and see what they say."

She led them down the tower stairs, and Earendil couldn't help but wonder how many times she used the stairs every day. From the ground floor to the very top of the highest tower ... it was quite a walk.

When thjey reached the hall at the bottom of the stairs, they turned and followed it rather than continuing down to the main floor.

While they walked, Alena kept inquiring if they had enough of this or that, until they finally reached the room that they were heading for. Alena opened the door for them, showing them inside.

It was a fair-sized room, with many long tables in it, and along one wall were shelves and cupboards. There were several men and women sitting at the tables, sewing an assortment of items, and they all glanced curiously at the visitors as they entered. At a word from Alena, they all went back to work.

Earendil glanced around at the room of fire-haired elves, but beyond that he paid them no mind. He was used to seeing people work - he did after all also live in a castle.

"It would be interesting to see the rest of the castle," he commented to Lin as Alena and Rhea set about getting the materials needed. "It seems pretty big, perhaps bigger than home."
