"Still seems a bit odd that everyone would abandon the place just because of that." But she didn't let it phase her too much. She took the door and made sure to close it behind her. There was a shudder that racked her delicate frame but she hid it well.

"Life always has it's little oddities and the spirits always have their sense of humor."

"Not all, but most. There are at least enough to run a few of the more important places, and the clan's members." he took a step in, and frowned around the place. "Do they?" he looked for a directory in the place, looking slightly perplexed as he tried to search for a room listing.

"I suppose that's true enough." She was looking around curiously at the room. "Kinda creepy quiet." She went up behind him and peered over or rather to the side of his shoulder.

"Looking for something?"

"Yes... though I'm not sure it's here for me to find." he blinked in surprise at the girl peering around him. "I don't see any official listings, but I'm sure there's plenty of room. If this place is anything like the equivelant lodgings for the men, you can just take a room and settle in, so long as no one else has it already, and your should be able to find food and the other necessities about, free of charge." Rivven gestured lazily with an arm. "Looks like rooms are that way, I think there's a kitchen... over there. You need anything else?"

She stepped back and peered at him. "You're just going to let a complete stranger have access to things? No offense or anything, but I can see how you were easy targets for your enemies." She was beyond puzzled. It made no sense and she couldn't seem to wrap her mind around it in the least.

One edge of his lips jerked upward in a bitterly amused smile. "In a way, we certainly are. In a way..." he shrugged, almost going to lift the bottoms of his coat with his hand to stick them in his pockets before he realized he wasn't wearing the coat anymore. The thing needed to be replaced after all...

"It's what they do though, so I can't say you shouldn't. I wouldn't advise starting much trouble though. What they lack in prevention I think they make up for in less pleasant self protective means. Thankfully that's an only as necessary case though."

"And that's why the world needs the Order of the Light." She muttered under her breathe and sighed. Both hands went under her own cloak to rest in her pockets as she rocked on her heels. "I doubt the type of trouble I tend to would cause many if any problems for you, so no fear." Her nose wrinkled for a moment but she caught the sneeze it was obviously precoursing with an effort.

"Pardons, I do thank you though for your courtesy."

Going to leave through the door already, Rivven froze. His whole body tensed, emotions raged, he felt ill to a degree, and it was suddenly all he could do not to snarl. Had he heard right?

"Order of the what?" Rivven said in a dangerous quiet snapping around to look at her. By that time, his face was perfectly calm, except for a dangerous light of some form of intensity or other shining in his eyes. He was the calm before the storm.

There was a quiet as Kalin stiffened. If nothing else on the streets, you learned how to tell when someone was upset or pissed. Focusing her breathe, she turned around and smiled gently. "The Order of the Light? It's the group I recieved my training from." She wasn't sure why he would be upset, but better safe then sorry. Besides, if she was hostile, would she really pronounce her allegience that openly?

Rivven let out a breath, untensing, and sagging a little. "'Light'. Okay then." he grinned sheepishly and chuckled uncomfortably. Really. If she'd been from the Children of the Phoenix, all the way out here, she would have known him on sight and probably not bothered hiding it and waiting, much less been clumsy enough to mention any of the Order's within the Children. Something really had been wrong with him of late; first headaches and dizziness, now outright clumsiness. A fellow could get himself killed like this.

"My apologies. I'm afraid it is probably best I be off then... much I need to do, not so much time." this time he bowed, a short bend at the waist again, and closed the door behind him as he left. Once he closed it, he sagged against the door and put a hand up on his forehead, fingers running into his hair.

Dry.

He could have sworn he'd be clammy, being like this. He felt like he should be. No, he recognized panicing those other times had been bad, doing it now would just be stupid. He felt like he could laugh. Bitter laughter. Instead, he quietly pushed himself away from the door and headed out to the wilderness again.

'Sheesh, he was jumpy.' Kalin flopped back on the bed he had found her and looked around. It was a really nice place, but Kalin found she was unable to sleep. New place, new people always made her antsy.

'Then why'd you take to the road?'

"Cause I graduated, duh...and to get Hitoshi to stop proposing."

'You'd think after 2 years of it, he'd get the idea.'

"You'd think..."

"...This line of thought is getting me nowhere I'm going so crazy as to talk to myself."

With a grunt of frustration, she sat up and looked out the window, where even now the sun was beginning to shine. Her hand went to her stomach and as if on cue, her stomach began to growl.

"Food..." With a decided bounce to her movements, she went to the door and glanced about. Seeing no one still, she went out to the main door, looking down both ways of the street, trying to decide which way was best to go in search of food.

It was comical truly, a man standing by himself and talking to what would look like the head of a puppet. That is untill someone looked close and saw the blood splatters upon the man's clothes and the dull pallid skin of a face going through the earliest stages of decomposition.

Casting his gaze about he was clearly searching for something, or someone.

"I do wonder where the one lady is, Reaper was her name."

Looking the head in the remaining eye Quin held it carefully as one side had been blown away from his weapon.

"You remeber the one, the one you broke and left for dead. I bet you would make a nice gift for her."

Finding someone entirely different in place though he cocked his head to the side and looked her up and down.

"Hmm, now isn't that odd Inquisitor. There seems to be someone new in town. Perhaps you would like to say hello?"

One redhaired eyebrow arched as she spotted one individual that the relatively few people there were seemed to be moving away from. She threw her cloak over one shoulder and strode forward, seeming uncaring or unnoticing of said decapitated head. But no, she was far from unaware.

"You realize that your ...uh...'companion' is going just get disgusted with you if you don't properly pickle him up." Using the quaint term for getting sauced, juiced or just flat out drunk. "Speaking of which, I am in need of a bit of food myself, care to show a lady where I can get a bit of food?" One hand was on her hip, her staff still at her back as she casually tightened the strips of fabric around one wrist, seemingly not a care in the world. 'He may be a loon, but he might know where I can get food.'

A whimsical look flashed acrossed his face as he was amused. Giddy with laughter he took a stumbling step, his left leg limping. Taking not a care for the gore or pulpy grey matter Quin curled two fingers into the enlarged eye hole.

"It's a better fate then he deserves. Though I'm more likely to use tar or lime if I wanted to preserve it, but I think I'll let him fester and rot and then I'll burn it clean to leave just the skull. That broken skull of his."

Smirking he raised the head back up so she could see it clearly, a heavy tone set into his voice.

"This b*****d damn near killed the lot of us."

Just as promptly his expression changed and he was shrugging, shaking his head from side to side as a sigh left his lips.

"We don't have a cafe, most of the town folks ran off because of the Inquisitor. And then we were attacked before then and I accidently burned down the bar, and then the Inquisitor finished the job when he detonated a bomb beneath it. Though if you really want some food I suppose I can take you to my place."

Turning around he looked at the area around him; he hadn't been here often, but he did know that his home was easily viewed from the position or at least the tower of it.

Looking back over his shoulder at her, "Well you up for it?"

She leaned in to examine the skull and chuckled. "Might want to de lice it first, don't want the poor buggers to suffer for his crimes." She followed his line of sight but didn't see what he was talking about. One finger to her lips, nibbling on the nail as she thought. "As long as you promise not to burn down your own house while I'm in it, sure."

And then her mind was on more fun matters, namely getting food in her stomach and so she would follow him.
