French is my second language i'm quite good i can understand it pretty much all the time except like when playing ff11 and stuff when they abbreviate it although i can usually guess. i'm not that confident at speaking it but i know enough that if someone dropped my in the middle of france i'd be ok sorting myself out biggrin I'd love to have more french friends so msg me if you like.

www.french.about.com
this is a fairly decent site, it's got a newbie section and chatrooms and stuff. It's got tons of vocabulary lists and just different information about culture and the language.

I am portuguese, and french seems quite easy to pick up to. You conjugate knowledge from portuguese and english and voilá... On comprend Français!

I was born in a French speaking country but moved to the U.S. when I was 7. Unfortunately..I proceeded to forget the language. I picked up the language in the 7th grade and will now be entering my 5th year of it in high school. I suppose I hadn't lost it all because I'm a year ahead..but I still feel like kicking myself sometimes.

I wish I could speak french. I studied it for three year, but that`s three years ago and now I don`t even understand a little bit... crying But I`m thinking of re-learning it, altough it`s the most difficult language I`ve ever tried to learn so far.

I'm in the process of trying to teach myself French as a fourth language (the first three being English, Latin, and Italian). I'm hoping that given my language background, it won't be too-too hard. Anyways, I'm trying to study it for half an hour a day, memorizing vocab lists and grammar and such.
