"Talk like Grover I do, yes."(Yoda)

Hello Bastet.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2005 3:34 pm

the first one was...well..not all that great, but the lightsbaer duel was good, the score was nice. and I did like the little things like finding out Anakin built c3po. the introduction of how the empire was going to form, the beginings of Anakin's decent, adn seeing Yoda actually throw down was well worth it. the third one I mostly want to see Anakin kill the Jedi, the fight between the Emperor and Yoda/ Palapatine vs. Mace windu and co...and the fight between Obi-wan and Anakin. and I always wanted to see just what it took, and how, to get Anakin to fall down the dark path.

Alright, so it wasn't all bad acting. But the Ep1 Anakin annoyed the living heck out of me...how somebody so stupid could become so cool is beyond me. But yes, the script was terrible and cliche (too lazy to put an accent in).

The second one wasn't too bad...but in number one, I just wanted to reach out and strangle "Anakin" and shoot the guys who wrote the script.

(I don't even know how.) Agreed. How many children say 'yipee'..., again, I don't blame the actor, I blame the script.

Qui-gon was too cool to be killed off, he was just like Obiwan from ANH.

Suddenly a whole chunk of clairity falls upon the names of he movies.
TPM//ANH
AotC//tESB
RotS//RotJ

I thought the second movie made me want to vomit everytime there was a scene between the Princess and Luke Sr.

What was I going to add...
Oh, The new trillogy lacks the pazzaz and coolness of Han, Lando and Chewbacca.

Wow, I think you guys might murder some of the people I know who like the new ones and hate the old ones. *shrug* Opinions and preferences.

I personally did not see much problem with any of them so far, though now if I go to watch them I might notice some of the things mentioned.

I wouldn't murder the people who like it...I'd murder the people who made it.
But I wouldn't be too up with the people who liked it either. They would be barred from joining my evil clan.

Good reading, he hates them with a passion and points out alot of the lunacy... But has a habbit of being alittle protective of the old trilogy.

The music from the new movies kicks a**.
And the duels were awsome.
Its not like the whole.. 2 hours... was a waste of our lives... Just nerve wraking at points.

Amusing. smile
Yeah, it wasn't pure garbage, but I was quite disappointed at parts.

My biggest hatred of the movies is they yet to prove than Anikin is the best Starfighter pilot in the universe.
The first movie proves that he is a capable pilot with really dumb luck, but he isn't anything spectacular. Hell, Wedge Antilles does that kinda stuff...
((Ok, I want to see an nice BIG dog fight-- With Xwings (because Awings and Bwings arn't invented yet)))

If Jar Jar didn't look so cartoonish, I don't think I would have hated him as much.

I still can't believe that Jar Jar Binks is actually the key to the Galactic Empire.

Jake Lloyd=Doofus. It's as simple as that.
And Jar-Jar is very annoying. He would have done better as "extra large frog legs" on a menu.

Binks is popular, despite our hatred of him, but I only hate him because he looks fake. They needed the comic relief because they didn't have a C3PO or a Han Solo, or a Chewbacca, or a Lando Calrissian. If they had someone to play the scoundrel, then there would be no need for Jar Jar excessive stupidity. I think he was targeted especially for the younger audiances as the droids/ewoks had been earlier.

Still, that large order of Frogs Legs is responsible for the rise of Palpatine to the the throne.

Jar Jar was used more effectively in SWII than in the SWI. He didn't bother me in Episode two.

Hmmm. To the degree that I saw him, he bothered me. Therefore, I also was less disturbed by his presence in #2.
As for 'comic relief', everything he says is rather stupid, and it ruins the scene like nobody else could.
I don't see why they're making him such a big instrument...somebody cooler should be responsible for all that.
And don't get me started about the ewoks. How could a tribe of 71 vertically challenged and horizontally abundant teddy bears and a few rebels beat "an entire legion" of the Emperor's "best troops"? Horrible stuff. I was rooting for the Imperial Army.

Because he barely said anything in ep2. This is the first I have heard of happiness about that fact, people missed the comic relief, but then that has always been c3po/r2d2 territory, among the other characters mentioned.

What is "comic relief" to others is "vomit inducing" to me.
I had to keep a barf-bucket nearby. Don't make my stomach start acting up again.

Clerks
In the first episode of Clerks, Dante is being sued by Jay, and Randall is Dante's lawyer. He is making a complete joke of the trial, and at one point he calls George Lucas to the stand:
Randall: State your name and latest movie.
Lucas: Uhh....George Lucas, and Star Wars: Episode One, The Phantom Menace.
Randall: And do you think The Phantom Menace was as good a movie as Empire?
Lucas: Why certainly....I think it's the best movie I've made to date.
Randall: [to judge] Permission to treat this witness as hostile. Mr. Lucas, how do you explain that when in Star Wars Obi-Wan told Luke that when he met him, his father was a great pilot, but in Menace he's just a little boy?
Lucas: W-well my kids thought....
Randall: And how come Obi-Wan tells Luke that Yoda is the Jedi that trained him, but in the movie, Liam Neeson trains Obi-Wan?
Lucas: Th-the Power of Myth....
Randall: Isn't it true that you knew this was a bad movie?! That you wrote it over a weekend, but kept tellin' people that it was done for years?
High Powered Lawyer: Objection your honor! The pod-race was pretty cool.
Randall: May I remind the court that your honor has never been in a George Lucas movie? And you were age-appropriate for the Liam Neeson role.
Judge: I'll allow it.
Randall: I want my eight bucks back!
Lucas hands him his money back.
Randall: Get him out of my sight! The defense now calls....Steven Spielberg.

Familiar with Keven Smith?
