And who's next on the shitlist aftyer Spiderman? It may NOT be me? But I'm pretty close . . . Oh I wouldn't worry too much about it. It'll probably be Storm/Panther. They've been around a year...that's about how long it takes for Marvel to backpedal. You think so? I think it's been pretty poorly handled. A better story would have been Storm in Wakanda. The story they're telling is not very well written, and makes no sense. The king of a very xenophobic nation marries a foreigner (in a ceremony that is decidedly white and western and contains almost NONE of his people) and then leaves his country for an indeffinate period of time. Stupid stupid STUPID. I think they were a very cute couple once. They explored the possibility something like ten years ago, and I was hopeful when they said they were revisiting it, but it was so poorly handled it drove me nuts. These are two of my favorite characters, I really liked Panther's solo, I have a trade around here somewhere. I really liked Storm, for a long time she was one of my favorite X-People. So to see what's happened to them...it bothers me. Especially since they got so much attention, both characters being black, you would think that would make them more likely to make it really good. Instead, I get the opposite.

Sgt Willie Walker Has Storm's and Black Panther's relationship been handled that badly? The scenario in which their relationship exists makes no sense. Neither of the characters feels like the way they used to. Pathner doesn't have the command he used to (WHAT is he doing in the F4 for god's sake?), Storm seems overly bitchy. They've basically used them to replace Sue and Reed, not just physically, but they're being written the same way. "Generic couple fills in roll of pervious couple, next on Fantastic Four." I was all set for the marraige to mean that Panther would get his own series. Not a shot in hell, apparently.

To be fair, I'm not seeing too much better out of DC. All of the long term properties are being mismanaged. Books less than ten years old seem to be the ones fairing best right now. Annihilation, for example, is wonderful.
