Adara was impressed by his confidence, though she had no doubt in her mind that he would pass. She had seen him study and train and fight in class, and he would likely be a better SeeD than she was.
"I know, right? I probably spent more on it than I should have, but I figured it was cause for splurging a little," the girl was glad that he liked her pick. Not everyone did...
"So... aside from cold, what's it like? I'm excited to see it."

Alexei took another swig of the wonderful wine as he thought of how to describe his hometown.
"Crescent is ... hard to find. We build very low, sturdy houses. It amazes me to see buildings so high above ground here. In Crescent, we dig down instead of build up. This is for cutting down on materials - very ... economical, I guess. So, in winter, when snow is covering everything, whole town disappears. Houses look like snow-covered hills."

Adara laughed and traced her fingers gently across his collarbone as she rested against him. She was amazed at how comfortable she was with being stretched out on a square of canvas in a tree, but right then, she wouldn't have traded it for anything as long as he was there.
"It sounds wonderfully opposite of where I came from. Deiling is about as upwards as you can get."

(( hah yeah totally. Didn't I mention Alexei is 3'2" and has reaaaally hairy feet? ))
Alexei nodded at her assessment of Deling.
"No kidding. I was in Deling one time - on my way through to Galbadia Garden. Talk about culture shock. I could not figure why everything was so big."
He liked the feeling of her hand on his chest, and couldn't help but smile contentedly to be there with her. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer, offering her the wine bottle.

Her slender fingers closed around the cool glass bottle and she immediately took a long drink from it as she settled into the new position he had pulled her into. She loved being this close to him, to feel his body move with his breath and his heartbeat in comparision to hers.
"It's not that bad once you figure out where you are in relation to the train stations. Mind you, I did grow up there. For the most part," Adara matched Alexei's content smile as she nestled herself against him and took another couple of deep sips from the bottle and offered it back to him.
The alcohol was slowly starting to tingle its way into her fingers and toes, and once her hand was free again, she resumed tracing her fingertips along his chest.

"That was another thing ... I got lost. It was so big, everything so crushed together like that. They fit, like, twenty time the people in half the space as we have at home, is crazy."
He took the bottle and had himself a long drag of the tasty wine, holding it in his lap when he was done.
"Not that ... you're crazy for living there. Is just really weird to think of that many people all crushed together. In Crescent, if you want, you can have all the privacy you need, but you can still walk less than a mile and see everyone you love."

"Having that many people all in a smaller space makes it easier to disappear in a crowd," Adara nodded, having done just that many times before. "See, what you can do in the forest, I can do in the city. I once followed a man from one end of the city to the next without being seen, then hide in the train passenger traffic when security started looking for the person who stole his wallet."
She regretted saying the last bit as soon as she said it. The last thing she wanted Alexei to do was think she was the same as how she used to be.
"I.. did end up giving it back. Same way I got it..."

Alexei frowned as he realized what Adara was saying, and it looked as if he disapproved for a moment, but then he started to grin wider than ever.
"...You were a Bad Girl!" he said, chuckling as he shifted his shoulders to look her in the face instead of having his head sidled up close to hers.
"With heart of gold - you give wallet back. This is my girl."

For that split second whe he looked disapproving of her, Adara felt her heart break. Stupid! Why-- oh.
"You... ya. I wasn't a great bad person all the time. That was a long time ago though," she took a deep breath, getting rid of the sinking feeling he'd caused in her. "I'm not anything like that anymore. Well, unless it involves stealing you away from something. Then I'll do it gladly."
She smiled up at him, glad to be able to see his face now, and she tilted her head upwards to kiss him. As she did, she slipped her hand around the back of his neck and ran her fingers through his long hair.

Alexei moaned happily as Adara pulled him in for a kiss. He loved the feeling of her fingers running through his hair.
"You can steal me anytime," he said, planting little kisses along her jaw and up to her ear.
"You are exactly who you ought to be, and I love that about you."

Her body arced into his slightly as he kissed along her jaw, until he came to that small spot below her ear, which tickled her every time. She giggled involuntarily and her body tensed a little in response but she forced it to relax almost just as quickly. As much as it tickled her, Adara loved it when he kissed her there.
"I'm glad. I don't know what I would do if you didn't," the girl feigned a pout at him, but couldn't stop the tiny smile behind it.
She removed her fingers from his hair for a brief moment, only long enough to grab the wine bottle and move it from his lap to the other side of her backpack, where she nestled it in a spot where it wouldn't tip over, then to grab the cork and jam it as best she could back into the mouth of it. Once that was done, Adara put herself right back to where she had been before moving and combed her fingers through his hair.

Alexei watched her set the bottle in a secure spot and smirked.
"That is good plan. We don't want it to spill, especially if I did something like ... this!"
He suddenly whipped his head around and bit her on the neck, growling playfully as his hands started to pinch her lightly on the behind and thighs.

Adara had fully expected him to start kissing her, so when she felt his teeth against her neck, it took her by surprise and she took a sharp and shuttering breath. Almost immediately after he started pinching her, she started laughing uncontrollably and trying to get away from his fingers.
"Nonononono!! Don'tdon't!! Nooooooo!"

Alexei laughed through his growling and eventually stopped the pinching and released her neck. He kissed her gently to make up for it and looked back at the wine bottle, still standing.
"There. Still good."
He chuckled and hugged her.
"I will not do again, promise."
